those who are outside the US don't give a monkeys about all the 3-5 lettered US gestapo agencies... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

You don't have to care about them, but if the CIA/FBI/whatever sees that bitcoin can be a thread to the mighty US dollar, you bet your ass they will do anything they can to stop it. Look at the US sticking their nose anywhere and everywhere the past 100 years. And with the amount of money they have, they can definitely perform a 51% attack by building a shitload of ASICs.
224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: An ASIC Company's Guide to Maximizing Profit while Destroying Bitcoin on: March 23, 2013, 02:19:02 PM
Mining or speculating in bitcoins is not a "threat to national economic activities" by any stretch of imagination.

So creating a new anonymous crypto currency that can potentially destabilize the US dollar leading to possible government collapse/run on banks is not a threat?

This is quite scary.

227  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can't withdraw from BTC Guild? on: March 22, 2013, 08:27:16 PM
I did earn 0.04352482 3 days ago, but it isn't showing in the "account balance" field.
228  Bitcoin / Mining / Can't withdraw from BTC Guild? on: March 22, 2013, 07:27:52 PM
the PPS earnings show 0.04352482 for the past 3 days now,

yet Account Balance = 0.00883340

And when I try to withdraw it says i need at least 0.01
Is this a glitch in their system?

Thanks a lot for all your help. I guess something went wrong with the transactions. That's really screwed up how someone can just lose money like that. I made a new wallet and will just use that.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoins not confirming after 30~ hours satoshidice on: March 01, 2013, 07:12:36 PM
When would satoshi reissue the coins? Anyone I can contact there? Can't find anything on their site. Sad
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / bitcoins not confirming after 30~ hours satoshidice on: February 28, 2013, 11:49:29 PM
I did a --rescan on the client, no help. And the transactions can't be found in blockchain info.
Everything was working before and after these, just these couple got screwed up.

Are they gone?

you should pay in bitcoins as credit card/paypal is waaaay too easy to do a chargeback. And since the person you send the money to will have NO proof of anything that he did, if you are a scammer, credit card and paypal will refund and you will get your money.

If anyone is thinking of doing this, please don't. CC and paypal always rule in the money senders favour.

I'm not accusing you of being a scammer, but cc and paypal are not to be trusted
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin when transfering to different wallet! using a valid wallet address! on: August 23, 2011, 02:00:20 AM
i did a rescan and its fixed i think when i closed it fast that's why! and the only solution that worked it was the rescan i did everything else re-downloaded the chain and nothing, only fixed with -rescan

i think this option should be integrated in the bitcoin program under help or something.

238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / FIXED: Lost Bitcoin when transfering to different wallet! on: August 22, 2011, 11:14:38 PM
Hi there i would really appreciate if any one could solve my problem or explain what has happened!

Yesterday (AUG/21/2011) i opened my main wallet in my usb drive and mounted to the bitcoin folder and opened and everything was perfect, blocks up to date. so i needed to take out 10coins from that wallet to my temp wallet so i used a valid key from the temp wallet that i previously used to deposit.
so as soon as i send the 10coins to the valid address i got the msg saying payment send! and -10 coin in transaction.
but when i mounted the temp wallet i didn't see the unconfirmed or anything regards to that transaction till now still nothing not even a gray notification NOTHING!

so i went and deleted the bitcoin folder and downloaded all the blocks again and mounted the wallet and still nothing. i used the wallet in different computer and nothing!

so i went back to my main wallet and in transaction it says the same -10 and 0 unconfirmed.

so i did another test using same valid address but for .50 coin and right away i saw the transaction in my temp wallet and after 1hour i got few confirmation.

NOW i need to know where the hell did that 10 coin went i copy and paste a valid address (checked it 50000times)

solution:
thx to PLATO

1. close the bitcoin from task.
2. run bitcoin from cmd (bitcoin.exe -rescan)

to avoid this problem dont close your wallet right away after transaction!!

240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't trust deepbit, but how come so many trust it? on: July 15, 2011, 11:39:22 AM
It's NVIDIA GFORCE G210s at first, and when the balance of profit comes to the price of an ATI Radeon 5850, I plan on upgrading. Total turnaround (depending on market and electricity costs) should be 9 months for it I think. At that time I'll be bringing in $9,000 a month?

What about the difficulty that keeps going up? 2 months ago we were mining 2x what we are mining now.

Also regarding this topic, I have mined on btc guild and deepbit, and tried doing 50/50 with my GPUs, for some reason I ALWAYS made more money with deepbit, and by more money I mean a lot more than the 3% that they take, upwards of 10% more some days. So even with deepbits fee, their servers and luck is much better for me.
