41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: That extra two pin slot on 8pin GPUs on: February 10, 2021, 07:13:32 PM
You can get away with 6pin to 8pin connector is the card you are powering isn't using huge amount of watt, could work with those GPUs that draws only 80watts of power like gtx1660super and the To version
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel, Looking at the Bullrun market? on: February 10, 2021, 07:09:38 PM
I feel scared and excited at the same time, I'm holding some altcoins and they aren't showing bullish sign yet that's where my fear lies, also I'm excited because crypto market cap keeps growing, sooner or later so many altcoins will benefit from the bull run
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential of an altcoin on: February 10, 2021, 07:06:18 PM
Hi all, I would like to understand how to calculate the potential of an altcoin in order to understand when it is a good time to sell it.
In my specific case for example I bought INJ in December and now the profit is about 600% .
Should I compare INJ to an existing well established similar altcoin (if they exists) to understand its potential?
I know I should set in advance a price when starting to sell, but this could be 100%, 200% etc of profit but which to choose?

Thank you.
600% Profit is enough to say goodbye to a altcoin, maybe it's just me? I always take advantage of every new altcoins that comes out and deliver, I don't plan on holding for so long because they will eventually lose value at one point in time, greediness is what most hold on to altcoins even when their prices are over the roof
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the Max safe Temp for Nvidia cards on: February 09, 2021, 06:01:47 PM
Most nvidia cards are safe at 75°C temps and AMD cards can do 80°C plus but it scares the hell out of me because you can't even touch the back of the graphic card without getting your hand burnts lol, that temp is freaking hot to say the truth, I won't want to mine at such temp you might never know which gpu will give up easily
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Down? on: February 09, 2021, 05:55:17 PM
Arrgh, the maintenance is still ongoing today as well, few hours ago I couldn't track my miners on the website, it displays another maintenance mode message on the website, I don't know what the team are working on right now, hope they solve this as fast as possible
It's already over, that only lasted for a hour I guess, you can go back and check now it's working fine, I kinda notice some speed in the mining stat dashboard though, I think the team finally make some adjustments
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: February 08, 2021, 03:23:37 PM
I'm having an issue with my two GPU's, one is an RX 590 and the other is an RX 580.  When I startup the miner I'm getting an error something to the effect of "stratum auto-tuning unresponsive for 51 sec. Fatal error, restarting". It restarts 4 times or so and then works fine. Any ideas?
If you are having trouble with your config it must be how you set things up, to have a better understanding about what you are doing wrong it's better to download Nicehash and benchmark the GPUs to see, if benchmarking is complete mining should start with phoenix miner which I believe it's the fastest and look out for any crashes
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What crypto does not yet exist but should? on: February 08, 2021, 03:17:01 PM
Have you read into the pi crypto? It's able to "mine" through your phone so makes it accessible to everyone with a smartphone. Look into it and do some research around it and if you decide you want to get involved my invite code is Beond
Same Pi Network? No that's a annoying crypto project already, they took a long time with development and the team are been accused of spamming the forum too, finding all ways to promote their project and attract people by force, what even makes no sense is KYC for cloud mining, if you believe that Pi Mining is real then you know nothing about crypto
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old gen core series works for mining? on: February 07, 2021, 06:30:35 PM
Does it make any sense to use a old core i3 motherboard to mine cryptocurrency with up to 6x graphic cards? Is there anyone here using first gen or second gen core iseries to mine crypto? I found them very cheap here than 6th, 7th gen motherboards
well never try 2nd gen, but 4th gen is good enough to mine with 8 gpus, 2th gen to old,the motherboard quite worry rather than cpu itself

its cheap but the problem doesnt par with the pain, better to buy skylake celeron only cost 30$, and mobo 60$,
I have no idea what you meant by this but I can tell you that I'm running a core i3 2nd gen with 6x graphic cards right now and it's working quietly with no problem, some people are even using old fail core motherboard to mine, all it takes is the GPUs itself not the mobo, as far as the mobo detect the gpus there is nothing stopping it the work
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cannot run 7 graphics cards on MSI 970a-g43 on: February 07, 2021, 06:27:09 PM
I don't like the adaptor idea for the GPUs, it would have been better I the motherboard have up to 7 pcie slots on its own instead of using adaptor, also make sure your power supply can power all the GPUs at once, calculate the power draw of each cards and also the watt of the motherboard, also update motherboard bios, that may help, if none of this works you will need to get a separate motherboard
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New step into RTX beast mining GPUS on: February 07, 2021, 06:21:12 PM
RTX 3090 owner here.
The GPU itself can be cooled easily... it's the VRAM that is a problem.

I have my GPU at 50°c but the memory junction temperature at 100c

I have a custom fan blowing on the backplate so the card is not throttling.
I have 113 MH/s for 295W
Is there any relationship between memory clock and memory junction? What if you lower your memory clock and see if the memory junction temp goes lower? Honestly this is what I've been seeing online about high temp on the memory not the card itself

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunters are getting axed harder on: January 29, 2021, 11:21:00 AM
Since 2019 only Stobox team have shown some real appreciation towards bounty hunters for Helping them., yes you heard me right, this team feels helped for talking and sharing awareness about their projects on social media and on this forum, they even instantly pay bounty hunters but the appreciation was noticed that I said to myself, if every project team can be like STOBOX team bounties will worth more
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Eth lucky shares? on: January 29, 2021, 11:17:17 AM
When mining Ethereum are there anything like lucky shares? I heard one can make more once in a while depending on luck though, there was a news when DeFi hype was ongoing in 2020 too that miners are making extra, can someone explain more about this?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX5500XT BIOS Question on: January 29, 2021, 11:14:56 AM
There is no modified BIOS for RX5500 yet. I can get about 28+MH for a stable work. The maximum hash a could get was 29.5MH but there were lots of rejects.
This makes RX5500XT not that good, I believe gtx 1660ti or super are better option over this card unless you get them for dirty cheap price, with 8gb VRAM it should be able to achieve 30mh, such a shame, the only thing the RX5500xt do better is very low power consumption
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this the right time to buy? on: January 28, 2021, 12:52:18 PM
Don't take it personally, do your own research before making a decision, every one are just going to drop the names of the coins they invested money on, here is mine

1. Polkadot
2. Avalanche
3. ChainLink
4. Nord Finance
5. Ethereum
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: If Ethereum POW algo goes down today on: January 28, 2021, 12:49:14 PM
Lol I guess you don't know, there are some new altcoins that are pretty Profitable for both AMD cards and Nvidia cards too, these coins are not available on whattomine so if that's the calculator you are using you are definitely missing out, check out Minerstat calculator
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please guide me which GPU is best for mining Futureproof - Newbie on: January 28, 2021, 12:44:43 PM
Wait for the 3060 (without ti).
When they show up you might get one at a good price.
Lower end cards hold their value often better (in %).
That is if he is able to get them at MSRP price, some people are out there waiting to get their hands on 50 of these cards and probably resell in this season, annoying way of making money, we call them scalpers, same thing is affect console gamers too
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you do mining or staking? on: January 27, 2021, 03:13:18 PM
Staking and mining have their advantages and disadvantages, you just have to find the one that you really like, I prefer mining over staking but I do both anyways, I've been a fan of Mining since 2017 and that was how I started my cryptocurrency journey
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX3060ti 2 x 8pin power connectors, can I use only 1? on: January 27, 2021, 03:10:34 PM
If your powerpack only has one 8pin connector you can get a molex like the one in the picture below, also just make sure the power pack can deliver the exact watts needed for the GPU and motherboard to run perfectly

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX3060ti 2 x 8pin power connectors, can I use only 1? on: January 27, 2021, 03:06:45 PM
Anyways it's not dangerous to use one 8pin connector but I gotta tell you that it's not going to work, the gpu won't display any shit, 2x 8pin was planned for the gpu for a reason, it's like you saying the manufacturers don't know what they are doing
