that is exactly what i'm asking to avoid.
does what you just described sound feasible and easy to use for someone new to bitcoin?
|
|
|
ya. i see a very counterproductive community here.
more people shooting down ideas instead of proposing them.
|
|
|
let me first start by saying that i am a complete dummy when it comes to software and programming.
i am merely asking those in the know a question.
is it at all possible to incorporate a way for the Bitcoin P2P network to record everyone's personal wallet balances so backup, encryption, and theft are not a concern?
like, can you have a wallet address that is checked by the network and can confirm/verify its balance?
if all you needed to carry was your personal Bitcoin address info maybe more folks would be inclined to use it.
once again - just a question.
feel free to flame my ignorance.

"Oh, and let me be clear, I personally in no way want to be on any sort of Foundation or council or whatever, nor do I want to try and collect btc to fund anything. I am writing all this simply because I believe that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Trademark applications for "Bitcoin" are already popping up in countries across the globe. Failing to act soon will mean death by thousand cuts while swimming in the shark infested waters of international finance."
and therein lies the problem....

all of this old news.
you're not the first one to bring any of these points up.
the bitcoin project isn't going to move as fast as people here want it to.

same here. went back to a smaller pool.
i may just stay here if these problems persist.

I don't think this DDOS is an attempt at lowering the difficulty. More likely a botnet owner was pissed at being banned from a certain pool & his btc being donated to the faucet.
in short....what are botnets?

in before: Sending an anonymous currency anonymously to a unknown website in hope they will keep it.
Never ever store your private data online. Neither on dropbox nor elsewhere. AND ESPECIALLY NOT YOUR MONEY.
I store money on PayPal and my online bank. I have full control of where it goes. So does anyone who logs into my account. Noob and with those accounts you have recourse if someone gets unathorized access and does that. with bitcoin - you don't. so stop making all these asshole comparisons of bitcoin to all other established and secure means of financial security.

oligarchy is the law - the iron law
power doesn't let go easily
and when it's taken from them
the new wielders become
the new oppressors

i have a noob question: if i have backups of my wallet file, and someone steals my wallet file, are my backups useless if they spend my coins?

looks like it's time for a ddos...
Yeah, because that's not illegal in almost all decently internet connected countries of the world. Where's a mod when you need one? If we're not supposed to discuss illegal activities then this one needs at least a warning if not an outright ban. lawlz
