There is no concrete answer on why alts go down while btc goes up, but it's pretty clear that investing in btc is way much better than investing in alts.

I suppose you should not think that way, trusting in whitepapers can hurt your investment. I can tell you that almost whitepapers have the same contents and goals but with different prjects. I have read a ton of it and believe me or not, the ones who are too good to be true are just scam.

You call airdrops free but I see it as a medium to attract and to advertise the same as with bounty campaigns. Investing effort is hard like investing with money.
