281  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase - Become an Investor - Good Investment? on: August 30, 2012, 01:32:52 PM
After reading the documents about coinbase on thefundersclub it appears that their valuation for this funding is $5 million.  So they are giving away 5% equity for $250k.  Not positive on this.  Not a securities lawyer Smiley
282  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinbase - Become an Investor - Good Investment? on: August 29, 2012, 07:12:44 PM
Have you guys seen that Coinbase is actually accepting equity investments from crowdfunding.  It's listed on TheFundersclub.  What do you guys think?  Is Coinbase a solid investment?  What are the positives and negatives?  Do you use Coinbase currently?  Why or why not?  By the way here is a link to it posted on the Crowd Funding Forum.....

Opinions are appreciated!

Will you guys continue to use Mt Gox or switch to another exchange?

Great, keep adding.  I will update this list later today
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $300 Bitcoin "Guess the Price" Contest on: June 24, 2011, 02:39:06 PM
I think it will be one of two extremes in the long run.  Within 2 years Bitcoins will either be valued at under a buck, or they will take off and huge demand will outstrip supply equating to a price per bitcoin of over $300.

Opinions?

294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 21, 2011, 06:08:58 PM
Events outside Bitcoins control will always influence prices.  In the longrun does anyone thing this is a positive since it allows more than one Exchange to possibly take hold?
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 21, 2011, 03:47:06 PM
Geez, some of you don't read my posts.  I didn't say Bitcoin was going anywhere, and didn't say anything about exchanging Bitcoin for Liberty Reserve.  I was questioning if MT Gox would be gone for good, and if they were even legally operating in the US or Japan.  I am a proponent of BTC, I was question if Mt Gox will ever come back, that's all.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 21, 2011, 03:23:38 PM
Well, there are several US laws against exchanges.  Check out some of the US securties laws as well as money transfer agent laws.  Money Laundering is a major issue in the US, and exchangers like those who exchange Liberty reserve and other ecurrencies are not permitted to operate in many cases.

So Is Tradehill going to be the next big exchange?
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 21, 2011, 12:50:55 AM
Anyone know a good site for Japanese internet and finance law?  What are the legalities of running an exchang in the country.  Does Mt Gox have the proper licensing?
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox Is Gone Forever.... ? on: June 21, 2011, 12:03:49 AM
I guess every new things takes time to work the bugs out, however with the case of MT Gox, the law may be able to stop them while Bitcoin will live on.

Just posted the link..  Not saying it's the case.

This whole situation though proves we need more than one major exchange though.
