1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: European Cryptocurrency Mining Equipment Reseller on: May 25, 2019, 03:22:21 AM
I did order for 20 S9 antminers on 09.05.2019 and paid 1690 euro without VAT - never shipped. Every day new lies and finally nobody answer on e-mails neither on their chat which was 24/7. Try to call on the phone - nobody pick up - pure scammers, don't know how to shut them down so nobody else will be robbed Undecided Maybe you could advise who should I call to stop those scammers.

Hello,

Any news about them? have they answer you?
Its strange that their domain is registered in Ukraine, but it could be normal.

Hello, its working now Undecided

After a few tests, I leave it running on the shell for a couple of hours and went to dinner, then when I restart it, it was ok... :-| very strange... but the same happened a lot of times with nicehash image — https://canaan.io/downloads/people/mikeqin/avalon741/openwrt/nicehash/20170719/ — on the 741 , and beside this question, there were others from other people without answer on reddit with the same question... Anyway, I think that for some how when we start Cgminer from shell it changes something

Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://sha256.eu.nicehash.com:3334 -u key.user -p d=4096

Ok I will read their info, thats a good thing to know, cause the prices and the orders are always changing :-)

Thanks once more :-)

Hello,

Strange, all my 741 on different PIs and different networks were restarting after a few minutes, even with the nicehash image (there is one nicehash image for 741), I think that is when Nicehash changes the Job, than after I run cgminer in shell for the first time, and add the extra-nonce, they were ok... Now I'm getting the same with the 841, but the solution I had doesn't work anymore with 841 last image...   Sad

I think that are packages to add to 841 to get the xnsub working, but I dont know how to install it Undecided ... it shouldn't be difficult cause its linux, we could update.

thanks for the tips :-)  I was already using the d=4096, but not the price :-)

If someone knows how to solve this without compiling the OpenWrt, with a "keep connection alive", or whatever, please tell me :-)

Hello,

Well you won't believe how did I solve this :-) ... If I tried to add #xnsub to the the server, it wont work, it refuses connection,
so I test it on the Shell the miners did not restarted... After a while I started from UI and everything works normaly without restarting.
And then, I could Also add the #xnsub to the pool... Since than no more restarts on my Avalons 741... I dont know if running from the shell, it updates or installs something needed for the first time... But after this I added 3 more PIs and and runing from the Shell one time, than restart to GUI and put the XNSUB and they were ok.

Now after these months I got 841s,  ... Same thing, restarting on nicehash, I tought I could do the same thing that I did it on the 741s, but it does not work... Keeps Restarting if I start it from the GUI, If I start it from Shell, it will work normaly without restarts. but if I put it #xnsub, it wont connect.

Anyone know how to add #xnsub to the Avalon 841? or to update the cgminer on it ??

Thanks.

Hello,

I know that I've away for a while, but I dont want anyone to burn their miners :-)

I still think that it is a good idea and there are Fans less expensive, ~20€ with the same CFM that solve the noise fan problem forgetting all the boxs and all the others things.

But beware with high CFM... I tried with 400 CFM, and when I turn on the fan with the miner off, the FRONT fan started moving quickly... When I turned on my miner, after some minutes it went off... I still think that is a good idea, but if the REAR FAN (inline 20€) as a big higher CFM, the front Fan will burn or will burn the board Undecided ... Dont make the same mistake that I did... if someone buy one of these inline fans, it will solve the noise problem with 20€, but choose one with the CFM closest to miner REAR  FAN CFM as possible :-)

It's me who should thank you for all your help :-)

I think your theory is right. The M3 and the S9 dont do this, but on the Pools page they only have Server, Worker and Pass. On the OpenWrt beside the pools we have the Fan Speed, Voltage and other settings, so if we apply a change only on the server (NH switching Job) it has to restart the system cause it doesnt know if we change voltage or other settings. just my thoughts :-)

Edit: the most strange thing, its the ECHU giving codes on NH after restart, and on other pools gives all Zero Smiley
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Troubleshooting and repair guide for AvalonMiner models 721, 741, 761, 821 & 841 on: November 05, 2018, 07:30:05 PM
Have you opened a support ticket at www.canaan.io ?

I have not seen a 741 behaving like this before.

Hello,

No, cause I bought them used from cryptouniverse(?)...
In this thread, theres another one complaining with the same things... I changed the PI power supply and does the same thing.

@Hagss now you're going to think that I'm crazy Cheesy that this problem its from the Lan lol... I've seen people complaining about the same thing, but they dont stop mining so no one cares about it, if we have a lot of them.

But with Static IP and with Google DNS it can take about 20 to 30 minutes whitout restarting, with DHCP, it takes only 4 to 6 minutes... I think, when it losees Lan for some reason, it it disconnects from the miners for a second or two, do know if this is possible?... But now I can only test it on the weekend with other Router... Also dont know why it needs IPV4 BroadCast on the network Huh Undecided But I am going to test it....

Well after testing the images on other 2 places it worked... For some how, one of my routers of one of my ISPs does not work with all the canaan PI images except with the nicehash image.

But still keeps restarting on Nicehash. On Kano, Slush and other pools, it stays working for 24h without restarting the CgMiner.
I think thats because the nicehash server address is redirecting to the server that the nicehash client asks at th moment. So it works 5, 6 or 7 minutes on one client, then stops (the 741 comes down, restarts cgminer) and connects to another nicehash Client.

If this happens to somenone, the solution for now (and for me), is mining on a "real" pool :-) it works with nicehash, but its always restarting and we will keep listening the miner boots up after one work :-)  but the shares are there and its counting :-)

If someone knows how to solve this without compiling the OpenWrt, with a "keep connection alive", or whatever, please tell me :-)

Hello,

Yes, both are... The one to the PI its from a nice brand and the one to the miner its a 1600W Bitmain and I already tested with a 2200W from another miner.

On one 741 I have

Code:
ECHU[0 128 0 0],

on the other I have,

Code:
ECHU[0 512 0 0]

But it could not be Temp Undecided cause it happens on both the same thing,
and for test I put

Code:
--avalon7-voltage-level 6

and LIMIT FAN MINIMUM at 4000RPMs, so temp is around 21 and still reboots Undecided

Have you tried reflashing the openwrt firmware?

What is your psu for the rasp pi?

Have you tried another rasp pi?

Hello @Hagss,

yes, I've reflash the firmware 3 times... The first time I had issues with my router, then I picked up another image (the most recent) from here
https://canaan.io/downloads/people/mikeqin/avalon741/openwrt/nicehash/20170719/ and after configurating everything was ok. Then after this problem, I tried on more time with this image.

My PSU for the PI its a 2.4amp, I know that it was supposed to be at least a 2.5amp, but this is a PI 2 B, wich consumes far more less power... do you think it can be from here?? is it possible that if the PI looses power the Miner Restarts? cause its just one second and I hear the Fan coming up and start see it on GUI.

No, I have not tried another PI Sad

Has anyone had trouble with CGMiner constantly restarting?

It's only just started recently, it will run and then idle/CG miner restarts. My CGMiner elapsed time generally doesn't go over 5mins... see graph below.

[...]

Hello,

Could you solve this ?

I have 2 separate 741, and they both are making what you described above. So it cannot be a cable, a fan, or a sensor, cause it happens on separate systems...
I'm running out of ideas Sad ... Are you using NiceHash?

I'm sorry to re-open this topic, but I saw that you have, or at least had :-) , some of 741
I bought 2, downloaded the img for nicehash, put in a PI 2 B, configure the Lan and the nicehash pools, and everything is working.

But every time the machine "solves" on share, it restarts CGminerStatus...
its all working correctly, but on CGminerStatus I can only see Accepted = 1, after finishing this, it starts from zero again... Do you have any issue like this ?
for example,

Starting this quote,

Code:
-> 5m 36s  - 6775.91  - 1 - 0 - 12 - 1,755,789

Ending this quote,

Code:
-> 3m 48s  - 6649.32 - 0 - 0 - 1   174,731

I turned my rig to v8 and getting around %6-8 more "share above target" error with same settings of v7.. is there a way to fix it? anyone having same issue?

(because of high of this error, i changed my rig back to cryptonight heavy for better profit.. i got %100 accepted shares with crypthonight heavy with same settings )

I had the same problem when changing to V7, at the time I set the right Algo and got 100% accepted...
This time, I did even try the Autodetect Algo (-1), I put the 10 algo and everything went ok...
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: October 18, 2018, 06:31:40 PM

It works, but when i want to set the core clock to 1408 MHz in OverdriveNTool it only runs at around 1330MHz and it gives ~1600 H/s per GPU.
If I set the core clock to 1450MHz it runs at 1380MHz anf makes ~1700 H/s per GPU.

--intensity=7  results ~1830 H/s --> "If I set the core clock to 1450MHz it runs at 1380MHz"
--intensity=6  results ~1770 H/s --> "If I set the core clock to 1450MHz it runs at 1380MHz"
--intensity=8  results ~1750 H/s --> "If I set the core clock to 1450MHz it runs at 1380MHz"

Without the OverdriveNTool, directly on AMD Software,

Vega 56 -> -2 power, -2 core, @950   1860 H/s
Vega 64 -> -3 power -3 core, @1025  1800 H/s

But yes, more power and less H/s, wich means less Profit Undecided

i have a vega56 rig, and i tried to setup cast-xmr-vega with nicehash:

Code:
cast_xmr-vega -S cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355 -u Wallet.Worker  -p "" -G 0,1,2

works (1,83 kh/s), but in nicehash web the worker show active but speed=0..... its working or not?

Hello,

Nicehash wiil give you the speed only when accepting shares... did you wait a little before post ?

Second, if you are trying to use V8, your server and port is not right... search on their website for the right server and port :-)

A Vega lists as

gfx901 when HBCC is on

gfx900 when HBCC is off

Thanks, I did not know that :-)

I am going to update the drivers (I have the Blockchain) and test it like we're talking about here :-)

Thanks once more,

Well my Vegas are running @ ~900Khs lool

And when I run cast xmr (last version) it says Gfx900(?) , can anyone confirm this ? it was supposed to say Gfx901(?)
18  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Quiet Asic Miner on: October 16, 2018, 08:42:30 PM
I think I'm gonna try it,

The first time I saw this system, I thought the miner had to control the big fan, but I was wrong... They have 2 speeds on the big fan controled by the input power, so the little cable that connects to the board its only for the miner could boot up without the original fan.

its much cheaper than the boxes and all the other things to quiet the miners out there,
just have to find a way to fix the big fan to the miner. 3D printing ??
19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Quiet Asic Miner on: October 16, 2018, 02:57:57 PM
Hello,

I know there is a lot of topics with noise boxes and silenters for asics, normaly expensive ones,
but I cannot find anyone talking about this system,

there is this company https://www.silent-miner.eu/ wich sells the system for about 210€, wich seems to have good results https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcFLHAj1bnQ

Has anyone try to use an inline fan duct with an Asic miner ?

for example this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L0D0UEQ/

costs only 60€, has 395 CFM and high pressure, and there are some cheaper, about 30€.

I think that the system of that company its something like this Fan with a Fan unlocker to the Board, so the system can pass without the original fan.

Has anyone tried this ?

Do you think it can work?

Thanks,
Regards

Hello,

I have a few M3, and now I'm getting 2 x 741,
but I have a problem with power cost and noise, so I made a search and I
read somewhere how to put the Fan working only at 70% by editing a file, or one option to set 0, -1 or -2 to consume less power and make less noise,
but I  cannot find it now Sad
Can you please help me ?

EDIT:  Ok I found it, its here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2521707.0
Thanks :-)
