OK I've had mintcoin for some time now and I've got the latest wallet 1.8, and 92k mint. The last time I saw any minting was 7th April. I know I have  relatively low amount of coin but shouldn't I see more minting than that?

Well for starts, the 7th of April was only 19 days ago so you've not reached the minimum of 20 days coin age yet. Secondly, with only 92K Mint, it may take a bit more than 20 days for you to find a block. As long as you leave your wallet open and unlocked, you are going to get new coins, it may just take a bit longer than expected, but it will happen.

You misunderstand me, that was the last time I minted coins, I have had coins in my wallet since 10th March 2014.  I had 3 minting transactions on 7th April.  But nothing since that.

No, I did not misunderstand you, you said the last time you saw your wallet mint new coins was the 7th of April, I explained that it was only 19 days ago.

Now you tell me that you had three mintings on the 7th of April and none since. Those three mintings would have been for different sets of "coin age" of coins in your wallet, and seeing as they all happened on the same day, then you will have to wait at least 20 days from the 7th of April to be able to mint again. Once your wallet mints again, they will almost certainly be in three transactions just like before.

You have to also remember that minting is not guaranteed to happen "Exactly" on the 20th day, because your wallet is acting as a "Solo Mining Rig" and has to actually mine new blocks of coins, just the same as if you had a mining rig trying to find blocks of coins.

Another thing, is that it is very advisable, that once your coin age reaches the 20 day period, and you want to mint coins, leave your wallet open and unlocked until it does mint new coins. Don't just open it and see that it's not minted any and think something is wrong, allow it to do the work needed to mint coins.

OK perhaps I'm not understanding the minting process correctly then.  I had an initial transaction on 10/3/14 and the had 3 minting transactions on 7/4/14, which now I've looked at it more closely only 1 was confirmed, 2 others have greyed out with question marks next to them.  So having minted once after 20 days it usually take another 20 days to mint again? does the 90k coin that is already in the wallet not have a chance to continue minting because its already over 20 days old? Or is there usually a gap of 20 days between each minting.  I'm sure I've seen pictures of wallets with minting every few days.  Also I was sure I had read on http://www.mintcointalk.com/index.php/topic,239.0.html that as long as you open the wallet within 20 days minting should occur even without you having to permanently have the wallet open ( its not locked either).  Currently I open it up every few days.. do I really need to just leave it open and running permanently to get it to mint?

i read it as follows : you had a successfull minting at 7/4/14 over your initial transaction of 10/3/14 (the minting transactions with question marks are most likely failed attempts to mint). The coinage of that particular transaction was then reset and you have to wait another 20 days (more or less) from date 7/4/14. This means that your wallet (if open and unlocked) will try to mint again one of these days as the coinage is now again approaching +20 days. Just leave it open for today and tomorrow and look at the incoming minting transactions and yr stake. With your low amount of coins there is a chance you will again see some failed mint transactions before you see one actually confirmed. Hope this clears it up. There is also a newer version of the wallet available that gives some clear indications if yr coins are old enough to mint and how much time it needs to mint .. its a couple post up and its from Kergekoin (trustwearthy) :

Hi guys,

After having lots of laughs over one of your respected members mr_random on our Mintcoin part of the Bitcointalk forum
i decided i just couldnt keep these laughs all to myself, somehow it just felt wrong.. being part of a sharing community and all.
So i decided to share them with your Blackcoin community....

Now i'm sure this is just the beginning, who knows how many more funny comments mr_random will make in our lil forum
which i will be happy to pass along in here..

mr_random seems to be particular active this last week, so i have gathered some nice little comments from him for you all
to enjoy reading:

Iconic is a free agent and can do what he wants.

Cry harder plz.

So you are admitting that you buy up Mint every now and then dump it below market value to drive the price down and keep mint "dead"? If Mint was dead in the first place then you wouldn't need to do that... Zombiecoin? There are a lot of good people working on Mintcoin, too, and they aren't trying to step on your toes at all so why are you trying to destroy other peoples' hard work?

You MINT-ers did nothing but spread FUD in this topic when we overtook you.

Well done Iconic. Keep crushing these noobs.

I was thinking about buying MINT but since it's made a formidable enemy with Blackcoin I'm not too sure it's a good investment if it's going to keep getting pounded?

Hours passed since my last mesage. 1 new post.

MINT community dead?  Undecided

A number of key MINT figures have switched over to Blackcoin. Mintbay rebranding to a blackcoin based name is just the next one to happen.

MINT is now at 10 satoshis. And trading volume is 8 BTC for the last 24 hours. I think it's painfully obvious MINT was a pump and dump.
[/quote]

Price down to 9 satoshis.

haha looks like someone spent some money.. idiot ^^

Looks to me like someone foolishly tried to pump MINT and a bagholder saw it as a golden opportunity to dump their holdings.

Lesson learned: you can't pump a lead balloon.

i want to end this post by wishing you all good luck with Blackcoin and your community

Hey everyone.
I dont know if anyone has done it yet, but heres the latest Windows wallet with minting icon and tooltip.
Another minor change is that it now sorts all transactions by Date. instead of Status.

Just unzip and copy to your mintcoin folder. for safety i suggest to backup your .dat and old mintcoin-qt just in case.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5vo29iagx3htef/mintcoin-qt.zip

Heres how it looks:

Im not the one who implemented it. I just compiled it. Big thankyouz goes to skwurp from github.  Wink

PS. Wallet may be bit laggy during sync. Once its synced, it will work perfectly.

i dont get it started, error mentioning QtCore4.dll missing? Also is the unlocking problem fixed ? Last i heard was that
there were some problems with the unlocking part of the new 1.8.1 wallet that needed more time to get fixed ?
Also is issue 13 merged in this update ? (Remove misbehaving peer's reported block count from peer block counts wh...)

qwizzie

Edit : did some digging.. that QtCore4.dll was last put in wallet 1.7 .. wallet 1.8 had lesser files and we were advised
to just delete everything from 1.7 before extracting 1.8

I uploaded only exe. Heres reupload with dll files included if you deleted them:

thanks .. appreciate it.. new wallet update looks good.

Anyone noticed that btc xfers are taking longer than usual today? I sent some to Mintpal an hour and 45 mins ago, "seen by 22 peers", and not one single confirmation as yet, either on my end, or Mintpal's. Shows up in "Pending" @ Mintpal, and in the blockchain though...  Huh

You put a transaction fee in there i assume ? took some 45 minutes for me yesterday.. up to 3 confirmations.

Already posted this on reddit but for more exposure i'm putting it in here too, maybe someone regnonice the problem / bug i'm describing here ?

topic : Wallet shows sync while its actually up to date

When can we exspect a fix for the wallet (1.eight) trying to sync to a mucher higher estimated total blocks due to users still connecting to nodes prior wallet 1.7 ?
And the wallet therefore trying to sync while its perfectly up to date ?

Its starting to annoy me and now the android wallet is getting near completion we really dont need this bug trying to sync when its not necessary. Would only drain battery i think..

There was some talk about cutting off the nodes that caused this ?

qwizzie

EDIT : see also this post http://www.reddit.com/r/MintCoin/comments/22l02m/wallet_keeps_jumping_in_and_out_of_synchronizing/

EDIT 2 : suspect its either node ''addnode=144.76.220.169'' causing the problem (this specific node is mentioned in both MintCoin.conf 1.6 and MintCoin.conf 1.eight) or its a hardcoded node.

EDIT 3 : tried removing node 144.76.220.169 and the wallet keeps trying to catch up to block 277838 which we are not even near to... after 5 minutes it jumps back to 268828
and is fully synced again.. this repeat itself at unregular times and also for longer times too.
7351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: April 12, 2014, 09:38:56 AM
Why is the KitteCoin wallet still using OpenSSL 1.0.1e dd 11 feb 2013 Huh
This forms a serious risk with regards to the Hearthbleed bug.
Pls fix this ASAP.

7352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Maxcoin pool max.1gh.com reaching 40% network hash !! on: February 10, 2014, 10:24:00 PM
on their own site they mention this :

1GH @1ghcom

http://max.1gh.com #maxcoin reaching 40% network hash. We advise considering this when it gets to 50: http://www.maxcoin.co.uk/pools
7353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MAXCOIN POOLS LIST - crowdsourced on: February 09, 2014, 05:13:44 PM
not getting any shares from that max.hashfast.de pool, are you getting shares ?
7354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MAXCOIN POOL LIST on: February 09, 2014, 03:01:29 PM
go to http://max.1gh.com , its the most reliable pool at the moment. You will find links there to CPU mining and GPU mining.
GPU mining is ofcourse recommended over CPU these days

you need to make a batch file and start it by right clicking on it and pressing ''run as administrator'')

i'm using an Ati R9 280X (GPU mining) with following batch file (copy & paste in notepad and save with ext .txt and then convert to .bat)

c:\cgminermax\cgminer --keccak -o http://maxpool.1gh.com:17333 -u ThiswillbeyourMaxcoinadress -p Thiswillbeyourrandomchoosenpassword -I 11 -g 1 -w 128

(as you can see i made a seperate folder named cgminermax as i'm also using normal cgminer directory for other coins like Dogecoin)

If yr not sure what yr maxcoinadress is check yr windows wallet (download from http://maxcoin.co.uk .. its called maxcoin-qt.exe and with option ''receive'' you find yr Maxcoinadresses)

Hope this helps,

qwizzie

i'm running arOpenCLMAX through commandprompt (arOpenCLMAX.exe -o http://ypool.net -u XXX.X -p X) and it works fine with a kHash/s of 149188
but i do notice that my GPU core (R9 280X) is running on 74% .. is there a way to get this miner to use the GPU core 100% so the hashrate goes up a bit ?

thanks in advance and thanks for providing this miner..

qwizzie

Run another instance of do something like -d 0,0

run another instance with another worker and got it to 93% .. perfect.. thanks
