41  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 05:18:26 AM
It's not just when switching roles, it just switched back to BTCPool24 on me
42  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 05:16:51 AM
I see, pulled latest again.  Slicing seems to have some problems though.  When you move a pool under 43.5% from info to mine, it will start mining on it for about a minute before switching over to a better pool.  For example in my case, I switched over BTCPool24 which was at 40%, and it mined it for a minute even though mtred was at 15%
43  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 05, 2011, 04:35:56 AM
I'm seeing some very bad behavior right now:

MtRed = 7%
Bitcoins.lc = 43%

I start bitHopper up with bitcoins.lc on info, and when I mark it as mine, bitHopper leaves mtred to mine at bitcoins.lc.  When I mark bitcoins.lc back as info, it continues to mine there until I restart bitHopper.

I'm on the latest version
44  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 04, 2011, 08:14:17 PM
Is bitcoin.lc fucking with their stats?  I just saw them drop to 500,000 shares, and their site said the current round has been going for an hour.

Responsibility comes with greater freedom.

Strike that; reverse it.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im just been attacked and robbed on my MT Gox account on: August 04, 2011, 07:53:14 PM
I've now lost $ 4000 because of their incompetence.

You have not explained how it is their incompetence yet.  I understand your frustration, $4,000 is not a small amount to lose.  However, they are probably not to blame.  Do you reuse your password in multiple places (including any pool you mine at).  Is it a strong password?  Does anyone else know it?  Are you sure you don't have a keylogger or any other form of spyware?  MtGox can only do so much to prevent unauthorized access, the rest is up to you.

With the sell off and the difficulty increase, the ratio has significantly dropped to .61

I hope everybody isn't completely sworn off Bitclockers - they've found 4 blocks today.

And look who one of their top workers has been:

gnaget are you hopping them or riding 247?
Hasn't been a bad time to be 247, tbh.
Also, I've been running with Cherry Picker on more and more rigs for the last day or so. BitClockers doesn't seem to block, delay, QOS, etc. using CP. Interesting data point.

I've been hopping them with mine_friendly.

Oh well, fantastic choice to put pool.cfg in the repository after it was used as a custom user configuration. I had several customized pool configurations there, not to mention all the usernames and passwords. Now everything is lost during the pull.

A warning to everyone: backup your pool.cfg before pulling or commit it to the repository and merge, otherwise it's los!

Ouch man, that sucks.  I'm glad I haven't pulled it yet
50  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 05:46:10 PM
what is "mine_friendly" and how it works?

It is a way to mine hopper friendly pools, in hopes that it'll give hoppers a bad name.  Some people are more interested in squeezing every last percent of efficiency more than being good community members.  What it does is hop the pool normally, leaving after 43%, but when they have particularity bad blocks (> 200% difficulty) and there is nowhere to hop, it jumps to them to help get a new block.

having some issues with your website?
52  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 04:28:56 PM
Is bitcoins.lc playing games again? - web site says 9,987,464 rounds,  json says 138,973

Maybe, or they could just be delaying the update on the website.  They usually delay stats updates for 0-3600 seconds.  If it reaches 200-250k shares and the website doesn't update then there is probably trickery afoot.

Yea, there is trickery I think.  I remember the 126183 number from last time he started messing around.  Apparently he set the same number of shares this time.  Weird.  I disabled them for the moment.

I think he is fking around so hoppers would help with the longer round.

Ironically, if he didn't fk around he'd probably get mine_charity miners.
Seems to me the question of ethics is being turned around. Faking stats is now the unethical thing, hopping is just an alternative lifestyle.

Cheesy

Although, don't use mine_charity yet, there is a bug with it and they don't get picked up for regular mining.  Its fixed, just waiting for it to get picked up by c00w

You say "Proportional payout method based on shares submitted per round". Now when I read the website FAQ it says

It is kinda messed up changing payout schemes in the middle of a round, invalidating work people have already put in
54  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 05:29:44 AM
yea, they can't handle it
55  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [NR 1] Triplemining.com <> BIG jackpot every week <> on: July 31, 2011, 05:16:47 AM
Its over everyone the block from hell its over!!! Grin

kick ass.  Does triplemining not tell you who discovered it?
56  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 30, 2011, 07:45:47 PM
Currently most of the lost profit was due to shares being submitted to the wrong pool (a few % less) but anyways - as the earnings are enourmously higher than expected if you hop several pools it still paid off.

Update to the latest version, I think you'll be quite pleased
57  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 30, 2011, 07:04:27 PM
i wonder if bitclockers will stop hating now yall fixed he stales

I also just committed the mine_friendly role, so if they want to work with us more, it might actually benefit them
58  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 30, 2011, 06:55:33 PM
]there must be some sort of lag time when connecting to a new server in which your miner is doing no work. This lag IMHO probably eats up the tiny advantage.

There was a small lag up until yesterday when you'd end up with stales, but that has been fixed and now miner switch seamlessly between pools
59  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 30, 2011, 04:12:54 PM
I only have one instance of bitHopper running, but the miners rarely, but occasionally stop getting work
