1  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 📖🎂 [Closed for New Entries] Cloudbet’s Bitcoin Blogiversary Competition 🎂 📖 on: May 23, 2019, 12:00:02 AM
Good morning all!

After much deliberation, soul searching, and heated arguments over who used the last of the coffee, our content team have finally picked their top three favourites!  Cheesy

Jokes aside this one really was tough to choose. We got a huge amount of really well thought out suggestions from both Bitcointalk and Twitter, and we want to reassure you that we’re not discarding the ones that didn’t make it to the top three. We promise we’ll get to work and try and answer all the other questions in the future. Our pick of winners are just the first ones.

The competition may be over, but our work goes on. And we want you along for the ride.

Now, without further ado, the winners!

The winners (0.07 BTC each!):

Wendigo - "Crypto sports sponsorship - the biggest deals"

@CryptoStatioN - "How are stablecoins stable? Why some of them sometimes lose their value if they are supposed to be stable? Why not just use bitcoin?"

@Fergielici0us - "What are atomic swaps? Can blockchain talk to each other?"

I'll be cracking the whip in the writers room and soon we should be publishing one of these articles weekly  Wink

As mentioned above this one was very nearly too close to call, so we also have a few runners up that just missed out on making the cut. I'll be contacting them soon to offer a choice of bonus on either our sportsbook or casino:

@mgulla7 - "If I die, how can my daughters inherit my cryptos?"

@danchamz - "What creates value for Cryptocurrencies? What factors are responsible for the variation in the prices of different crytpos."

chelsea93 - "Sound money and it's primary aspects. What is money and it's features. Like liquidity, Inflationary/Deflationary, Demand/Supply, ease of use etc."

There were also a couple of strong specific suggestions from very knowledgeable people, and we plan to reach out to those community members privately in the near future to discuss having them write on the subjects for us as paid guest writers, given their own insight into the subject matter:

mcplums2 - "Is bitcoin's simplicity, its lack of features and its resistance to change, a good thing? Are these features or bugs?"

iphro - "How small states can integrate their M2 economies through blockchain to escape the effects touted by World systems/Dependency theory."

CryptoSmith1 - "How is blockchain becoming cleaner and greener, with regard to the energy consumption of cryptomining, data centers, servers, etc.?"

A huge thanks to everyone that took part and submitted suggestions for the blog, and for your belief in crypto as part of a better future. You should all be proud. All of this - and us here at Cloudbet - wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.

We have already started planning next month's competition, so keep an eye on our Cloudbet thread for details soon!

Have a great day!

Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Sounds good! Hit me up when you guys want to talk further. Cheers!
2  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 📖🎂 Cloudbet’s Bitcoin Blogiversary Competition - 0.21 BTC prize pool! 🎂 📖 on: May 09, 2019, 10:46:51 PM
Cool contest Ronnie! Here's my three suggestion entries:

My favorites article, and runner up, are the following:

Grand prize: https://www.cloudbet.com/en/blog/in-the-cloud/11954-trade-this-real-world-assets-trading-on-the-blockchain

Why my favorite article? Because it opens the discussion of where cryptos need to go, and offers some solution links, as well as being very well written, as all of your articles are!

Runner-up: https://www.cloudbet.com/en/blog/betting-strategy/13445-what-are-parlay-bets-and-how-to-place-them

Why my runner up article? Well, the obvious...I love parlays!

Three article ideas for my entries:

1) How is blockchain becoming cleaner and greener, with regard to the energy consumption of cryptomining, data centers, servers, etc.? Is Cloudbet focused on this? DM me for info on a new clean energy technology that could disrupt this aspect of blockchain. Think off-grid everything...mining, data centers, servers, etc.

2) Is it possible for Cloudbet to create parlays on crypto performance over set periods of time? For example, picking the trifecta of performers of one month, one week, one day, one year...or picking the top two to eight performers over set periods of time? Maybe someone is already doing this, not sure, but just a thought.

3) Should there be concern with some blockchain promoting themselves as decentralized, but actually aren't, such as dPoS systems like EOS (sorry EOS supporters!)? Just an observation from watching cryptos for a few years now and seeing quite a bit of shady marketing on 'decentralization' in some areas.
