81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 570 duo 60mhs at 125W is it real? on: August 14, 2021, 04:42:09 PM
I always stay away from 570s and 580s because they consume more electricity even if your mining software is showing you low watts consumption, I prefer to spend more on costly GPUs especially Nvidia cards because they draw less watt
Send some to me if you aren't using them anymore, those cards are old but they still kick ass, you can lower power consumption using wattman or other tools though from the wall the watt is always higher compare to Nvidia cards but rx580s and 570s are still champs
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / The new AMD Radeon Cards on: August 13, 2021, 02:31:07 PM
I heard that new AMD 6600 GPUs are damn good for mining is there anyone on here that have get themselves one ? Also can we get them for MSRP price ? If that's possible won't miners start buying those instead of over priced GPUs
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Things I wish I knew before starting my crypto journey on: August 13, 2021, 02:13:58 PM
I'm not scared of failure, honestly the harder you fall the smarter you become, same things have happened to me in 2016/2017 where I was too busy gathering shitcoins but today it's all well and better and I'm glad those things happened to me then.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Powering risers with SATA cable isn't entirely bad on: August 13, 2021, 01:54:13 PM
Just make sure you don't buy cheap power supply and you won't have problem powering GPUs with SATA cables, it's been proven that new GPUs draw less watt from risers and more watts from 6+8pin cables instead, also it's safer to use one SATA cable for one riser
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP!! Is it possible to use old laptop for solo mine bitcoin to try some luck? on: August 11, 2021, 10:04:42 AM
Hi guys,
             I am relatively new to bitcoin and absolutely new to bitcoin mining/any sort of mining. Although chance of success is ~0, I am trying to solo mine bitcoin using my dual core laptop with NVidia GeForce GT 740m to try my luck. I am using cgminer v3.7.2 as the mining software and bitcoin core v0.21.1. I use the following lines in bitcoin configuration file:

server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser='xxxx'
rpcpassword='yyyy'
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=8332

            then run cgminer using "http://127.0.0.1:8332" as url, "xxxx" and "yyyy" as username and password. but the cgminer shows as:

[2021-07-26 16:04:49] Probing for an alive pool
[2021-07-26 16:04:51] Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid

anybody please help Roll Eyes
Don't even bother as this is a waste of time, the only thing you use that laptop to do is either sell to buy another with gtx1660 minimum or buy graphic card instead to start mining Ethereum or you can buy harddrives and use on your old laptop to farm chia coin, do research on that
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: August 11, 2021, 09:53:58 AM
Miners are using laptops to mine crypto this days, I've seen a whole farm full of laptops only mining crypto, you don't have to mine BTC directly since they require ASIC miners today, check the GPU in your laptop if it's around 6gb video memory probably 1660 gtx will do and download Nicehash to start earning and you will also get paid in BTC
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3070 won't boot up or display on: August 11, 2021, 09:15:19 AM
It doesnt make sense. Because we usually use gen1 when mining and just 1 lane is enough for mining. What i know that newer card will support previous versions.i dont have rtx3000 series. cant test it.
Lol, you don't have rtx cards and you are already saying it's not possible? My 3070ti behaves abnormally in a i5 2400 motherboard and it's a different result with my i7 6700 motherboard, if your motherboard has pcie x16 2.0 you will definitely have a hard time powering a rtx3070 up, still don't believe? Do research on Reddit thousands of people have experience this with 3070 and 3070ti
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Tether crash to $0? on: August 10, 2021, 09:45:12 AM
There are many charges against usdt but what can I say? It's a pure centralised stable coin so it's going to be used for illegal activities but yes usdt is still my favourite and I use it to store money but my advice is to diversify your money into other stable coins as well cos anything can occur
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help confirm if this is LHR GPU or not on: August 10, 2021, 09:22:27 AM
Also I have nothing much to worry about because this card is doing 35MH on ravencoin out of the box with no OC and I find a way to lower the memory temp down to 86°C cos that's very important part of RTX 3070,3080 mining raven coin, they stress the memory out, here is a setting if you have a micron base rtx3070ti

Temp 48°C , Memory temp 86°C
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help confirm if this is LHR GPU or not on: August 10, 2021, 09:16:54 AM
Thank you all for your replies the rtx3070ti is indeed a LHR card, I forgot that this cards got released after the LHR news was live, if I remember this I won't have buy and also betterhash shows 69MH but after 10 seconds the Hashrate dropped down to 40MH lol 🤣
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will NFT bring any change in crypto gambling industry? on: August 09, 2021, 10:31:32 AM
Gambling is different from gaming and the only thing nFT do better at is gaming, the reason behind high demand is because NFT tokens can be used as in game purchases not gambling and I haven't seen NFT gambling projects before
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Help confirm if this is LHR GPU or not on: August 09, 2021, 08:55:28 AM
Can someone confirm if this GPU is a LHR or not? I don't even know the way to go about it, using betterhash I'm getting 69MH and using others I'm getting 44MH, it's RTX 3070ti

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best thermal paste on: August 09, 2021, 08:27:45 AM
Most likely the thermal paste is not the reason its running hot. Maybe you got bad fans or the GPU is somehow damaged.

In my opinion, I wouldn't apply thermal paste on an old GPU (3+ years) reason why is because usually the stock thermal paste is stuck on. And you will need to break it apart to seperate the GPU from the heatsink and while you do this, you might form microcracks in the solder joints.

I ended up destroying 20% of my GPUs this way. It worked however after a few weeks, i noticed one by one they started to die. And in the end, the temp difference wasn't even noticable. If you want to do a thermal repaste, do it on new GPUs not old.
I'm 💯 sure that it's the thermal paste, things works better once I replaced the thermal paste with the one from an old dead GPU, actually this shows that my thermal paste is worse probably fake
Glad it worked for you, actually we have better thermal paste like mx4 for a reason so don't listen to those saying there is no difference, some GPUs are very hard to handle so strong thermal paste will make you understand what you are doing more
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to Binance? on: August 08, 2021, 05:55:27 PM
Thats a good question. Since november i've been slowly migrating my funds to FTX, however, i don't believe it will be that bad.
And also, keep in mind FTX (which imho is the runner up for best exchange) doesn't support all shitcoins like Binance does

FTX? You mean the blockfolio owners? Well you can never tell yet because money is always the reason why many do the unexpected, if FTX becomes as big as binance they will open arms to new projects as well just to get more money
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: busd or USDT safe on: August 08, 2021, 03:17:45 PM
Popular stable coins are safe but if you have large amount of money it's wiser to split them on different Chains like BUSD, USDC, USDT and DAI which I believe is more reliable because it's decentralized, other centralised stable coins might face problem once CBDC becomes active
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's safe mem temp for Vega on: August 08, 2021, 10:14:45 AM
it is normal for memory to be hotter compared to the die, even the latest rtx cards memory can reach 90 and even 105, especially gddr6x. if you think it's hotter than your usual temp, maybe change the paste and pads.
🤔 So this explains why gddr6x cards do 90°C on vram when mining? God damn and you say this is safe? On my Vega is 83°C is achieved the system would shut down instantly but is there any proof that this is safe ?
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3070ti and 3080ti question on: August 07, 2021, 05:47:06 PM
Are there no LHR RTX3070Ti and RTX3080Ti ? The reason I asked is these cards aren't labeled LHR on every crypto calculators I know, only 3070,3080,3060 has LHR on them, is this true or not? The reason why I'm not buying this new Nvidia cards is because I don't want to end up with LHR cards
https://www.julianocaju.com.br/info/lhr.asp
-" all 3070Ti and 3080Ti are LHR"
I did not plan to buy these cards, but what I heard is that the hash rate on the Ethereum algorithm and Ergo (ERG) is decreasing on them.
Please see the reviews for the model you want to purchase before buying.
If you have one start mining conflux even on 3070ti it's stable and presently the most profitable as well, not all algorithms can be blocked for this graphics card, it's almost impossible, do your own research
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minerstat Vs HiveOS on: August 07, 2021, 05:25:35 PM
MinerStat OS sucks because you can't add AMD and Nvidia cards in a single motherboard it won't work this way, MinerStat OS only works with one GPU name at a time, meaning 6 Nvidia cards at a time or 6 Radeon cards at a time, no mixing
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.8.3 - Ethash/Kawpow/Etchash/Autolykos2 and More on: August 07, 2021, 07:39:44 AM
I'm still getting low hashrate on my Vega 56 with max settings of core 930 mem clock 900  and 840mv any thing higher than this the GPU will crash in hiveOS, my hashrate is 44mH and here is the tweak settings I use

amdmemtweak --cl 18 --ras 23 --rcdrd 22 --rcdwr 11 --rc 34 --rp 13 --rrds 3 --rrdl 4 --rtp 6 --faw 12 --cwl 7 --wtrs 4 --wtrl 4 --wr 11 --rfc 164 --REF 15000

The memory is hynix memory
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What's safe mem temp for Vega on: August 05, 2021, 02:37:04 PM
What is the safest memory temp for Vega 56 and 64? I'm seeing 70°C in hive OS, this isn't the normal GPU temp cos that's at 53°C but is 70°C safe for Vega memory temp? Thank you
