301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: May 11, 2014, 03:21:52 PM
Could someone post their ccminer bat file contents for X11 on 750Ti?

TIA

8.9 million coins only. It should have value.

If I am mining via local node and I need to reboot computer and be offline for maybe 15 mins, how does this affect my VTC shares and my solo mined blocks? Do I lose the blocks of MON or PLX that I was mining?
No, technically, a MON block is found every 2 minutes. If you on average mine a percentage of the hash rate to earn you a MON block every 5040 blocks (1 week) then what this really means is:
- Every 2 minutes you have a 1 in 5040 chance of successfully mining a block of MON.

So if you stop mining for 15 minutes then come back, then you just miss out on the 7 or 8 chances of winning, from the normal 5040 in a week it would take you to win (on average).

Great. Thank you.

@Boristhespider

would be good to start working on a solution for trully p2pool merged mining ... not that stupid virtualmachine, or p2proxy ...

This must be done before launch of mon/plx

At this rate, In 2-3 weeks, p2pool  will disappear, and remain only 4-5 big clasic pool (like simplevert) ... and adio descentralization of mining...

Too bad

It's not hard at all to set up your own node... and you will know that the node operators will not be robbing you, because well.. you will be the operator.

+1

Stop mining on pools, and put some effort into setting up your own node.

If I am triple mining on local p2pool with 0.6 Mh/s am I wasting my time? My VTC payments are normal, around 3 VTC per day, but I only received 25 MON in the last 3 days and I've just added the settings for triple mining today, so no para yet.

I want to support p2pool mining, but would I even find a block of MON or parallax with this hash rate?

Yes you'll find blocks, they'll just be a long time coming. 25 MON seems pretty good so far with your hashrate.

Thanks, and also to bengtåke. I'll keep mining on my local p2pool as I feel it is better for the coin. As long as I'm not losing out, I can wait.

I just noticed all the pools listed in OP end in  9555. My local p2pool is on 9174. Is my set up wrong?

Haven't had a Vert payment since 11 am (8 hours ago).

This coin is grim.  Cry

Continuing with the major hunt for my MON  Cheesy

I have located the monocle debug.log file. It appears there are rpc calls?

Make sure rpcuser and password from monocle.conf match what you specified in --merged option

They are.  Embarrassed

I know I'm not the only person to be merged mining on local p2pool and not be receiving any MON.

However, this is my last post on this issue unless someone can find a solution, I'm losing the will to live trying to get this working.

If I input :

Code:
vertcoind listtransactions

It outputs :

Quote
[
]

However, I am receiving VTC payments to my wallet so there is no problem.

BUT...

If I input :

Code:
monocled listtransactions

It outputs :

Quote
[

I am not receiving any MON to my wallet.

I have started p2pool with the following command :

Code:
python run_p2pool.py --give-author 0 --net vertcoin3 --merged http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@127.0.0.1:6888 -a VTC_PAYMENT_ADDRESS

I have started my miner with the following command :

Code:
./cudaminer --algo=scrypt:2048 -l T10x16 -C 2 -i 0 -o 127.0.0.1:9174 -O VTC_WALLET:MONOCLE_WALLET

vertcoind getinfo output :

If anyone knows how to find out if I am mining MON and if so where it is, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks.

Ok, just for the noobs like me:

finally it works!

i have a ubuntu 14.04 LTS running on an old sys (athlon x2 2ghz, 4gb ram, 20gb hdd) and installed it following this howto as a p2pool node.

http://coingolem.com/how-to-setup-your-own-p2pool-node-144/

tip one: read it without touching your wannabe-node from top to bottom!

tip two: follow the white rabbit instructions! (vertcoind --daemon takes some time!)

after installing the vertcoind and p2pool software i installed the monocled, edited the /home/*your_name*/.monocle/monocle.conf and started monocled --daemon.

after i installed all, i was searching for some data... is this thing running? only info i got was for the p2pool_run... showing me some data about vtc.

i pointed my 2 rigs (~1.1mh/s together) to my node and checked if they are shown in my browser pointed to my p2pool node (for me: 192.168.0.109:9171) and waited... and waited... and spamed the forum here... and waited, getting bored, waited some more... falling asleep!
this morning i checked with
Code:
monocled listtransactions
and see what i found!

Code:
[
    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "M8qqY2r9RBnVnk2WaQBmcvpm6KFUVzkY6v",
        "category" : "immature",

OK... to say it clear and without any chance of misunderstanding:

If you setup your own (private) p2pool node you will mining monocle solo!

so here comes the jedi academy pro tip:
be patience young padawan!

ps: i'll write a howto/summary for seting up a p2pool (private) node after my shopping and household stuff...

After 14 hours of mining with 0.6 Mh/s, monocled listtransactions still outputs :

Quote
[
]

The only thing I did different from you is have the monocle.conf in the same place the vertcoin how to stated:

Code:
/home/**pcname**/.monocle/monocle.conf

I don't see what difference that should make, because if the config was inaccessible then p2pool would surely show an error when running with the --merge:

Code:
--merged http://username:password@127.0.0.1:6888

I still have no idea if I'm actually mining MON. All I know for sure is that I'm getting paid VTC so at least my mining time isn't being completely wasted.

Been mining 12 hours now. 0.6 Mh/s on local p2pool.

I have received almost 1 VTC to my wallet, but no MON to be found anywhere. monocled getbalance still shows 0.00000.

 Undecided

There is obviously confusion here as to whether or not we are even mining MON. The How-to states the following:

Quote
You can cat the Monocle debug.log to see that GetAuxBlock RPC calls are being made to monocled by p2pool to double-check
that everything is working properly. The log entries will look like  "ThreadRPCServer method=getauxblock"

So, how do we "cat the Monocle debug.log" ??

I'm receiving VTC from my local p2pool, but no MON as yet. Is there a way to check that I am definitely merged mining? I'm only throwing 620 Kh/s at it, so maybe the MON is gonna take a while to show?

Anyway, if I try monocled getbalance it shows 0.00000

Not sure if I'm only mining VTC here.  Huh

monocled listaccounts

Thanks, output is below. So, all is good?

I don't understand this part. I start p2pool with my VTC wallet address in the command so I know my vert will be sent there, but  how do I get my monocle payments sent to my MON wallet? I thought having the MON address as my miner password was all I had to do?

Assuming you're mining on your own private p2pool node, your VTC will be paid as usual, but you don't need to specify a MON address as password, and your MON will go straight into the mon wallet on the node itself, so you just need to periodically send it off to your desktop etc.

Thanks, Boris. I'm new to p2pool... how do I send from MON node to wallet?
