3 4 VTC blocks now - they're rolling in - (maybe even too fast?) Glad I stuck with it - gives my GPU miners some new life.

If I understand correctly, p2pool node wallet collects the MON first and then sends out later to miners.
In that case need to protect the MON wallet using encryption, right?

me and lot of another people on vert reddit have the same problems they are typed into site - http://p2proxy.net/stats/ + vtc adress " Note: Recent transactions do not work for Monocle transactions at the moment, sorry for the inconvenience. Working on it." I have received a VTC 8 hours ago "3.098988707340 VTC (Paid: 0.24193460 VTC) 2.817867039450 MON ( Paid: 0.00000000 MON)" "This represents the total value of all your shares (please read!). Once the amount is above the minium payment threshold of 0.1 VTC (1.0 MON), they can be paid if there are matured coins available in the pool's buffer. "

Ok, just for the noobs like me: finally it works! i have a ubuntu 14.04 LTS running on an old sys (athlon x2 2ghz, 4gb ram, 20gb hdd) and installed it following this howto as a p2pool node. http://coingolem.com/how-to-setup-your-own-p2pool-node-144/tip one: read it without touching your wannabe-node from top to bottom! tip two: follow the white rabbit instructions! (vertcoind --daemon takes some time!) after installing the vertcoind and p2pool software i installed the monocled, edited the /home/*your_name*/.monocle/monocle.conf and started monocled --daemon. after i installed all, i was searching for some data... is this thing running? only info i got was for the p2pool_run... showing me some data about vtc. i pointed my 2 rigs (~1.1mh/s together) to my node and checked if they are shown in my browser pointed to my p2pool node (for me: 192.168.0.109:9171) and waited... and waited... and spamed the forum here... and waited, getting bored, waited some more... falling asleep! this morning i checked with monocled listtransactions and see what i found! [ { "account" : "", "address" : "M8qqY2r9RBnVnk2WaQBmcvpm6KFUVzkY6v", "category" : "immature", "amount" : 8.04000000, "confirmations" : 72, "generated" : true, "blockhash" : "ec3c217b8b33e1c560c5c012f2a8e52004ed0cecf8f2ada880947b13768171af", "blockindex" : 0, "blocktime" : 1399100550, "txid" : "c9d558490224d51592ce2f2a3758e970df62d4537087e0b5e7c0c5e8a444f0bc", "normtxid" : "77f8eb815cb8f340d419119640da226ef53f04691e9edae2aef6742c9a541c57", "time" : 1399100550, "timereceived" : 1399100608 } ]
OK... to say it clear and without any chance of misunderstanding: If you setup your own (private) p2pool node you will mining monocle solo!so here comes the jedi academy pro tip: be patience young padawan! ps: i'll write a howto/summary for seting up a p2pool (private) node after my shopping and household stuff...

Could someone from stratum+tcp://p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9555, or someone else with more info, please tell me if this p2p node will have its frond end up and running soon? I'm mining since yesterday 10:00 GMT, and got nothing. It's very hard to have trust in someone, when you cannot see what is being owed to you.
The problem is, I have received nothing from this node.
Thx in advance.

I'm mining on my local p2pool with the same speed (~ 1.1Mh) and got only one block (1MON) Am I right saying that mining MON on public p2pool (merged mining on proxy) has more chances to find block (due to higher cumulative speed) than solomining on local p2pool?

The only thing I did different from you is have the monocle.conf in the same place the vertcoin how to stated: /home/**pcname**/.monocle/monocle.conf I don't see what difference that should make, because if the config was inaccessible then p2pool would surely show an error when running with the --merge: --merged http://username:password@127.0.0.1:6888
I still have no idea if I'm actually mining MON. All I know for sure is that I'm getting paid VTC so at least my mining time isn't being completely wasted.

NoticeAnyone having issues setting up or running via p2pool, HashHarder (sister site to Verters' Pool) has a fully working Merge Mine non p2pool up and running since almost launch time. You don't need to register (just like p2pool), and payouts go straight to your wallets (again similar to p2pool, and especially in this case, as payments can only be sent after the coin matures - 120 blocks). You simply connect to stratum+tcp://www.hashharder.com:9950 Set your username as -u <VertcoinAddress>.<MonocleAddress> -p x Where there is a (dot) between your both addresses. Then, your monocle stats and scheduled payouts (well the most recent 1,000 are listed, though all payouts are made) are here: http://www.hashharder.com/scrypt-n/monocle%20mergedYour vertcoin stats and scheduled payouts are here: http://www.hashharder.com/scrypt-n/vertcoin%20mergedIts almost like you are mining on two pools at the same time! Couldn't be simpler. Help us grow
