I don't understand how this would eliminate the attackers coins. He/she could just send the coins to some older address? Look at 4th Top address, which ends with BMCh at http://nc2chain.info/top100This is where attacker coins gone... As I understand, this is the first address and the addresses to which coins are sent from this to eliminate in distribution. Anything other could be proved with transaction history and blockchain. Ah ok, so it is known that this address contains attackers coins? But, it has only 1.6M coins which is not enough for attack, right? Those coins come from this http://nc2chain.info/address/CT6hK54g9MT3gnK72YGWgVYNUEqQu56HCc (from last transaction). As I understood this address holds evidence of double spend. I don't know if it is possible to attack with that small amount. Someone tech savvy could explain it, hopefully. |

Come on.... lets all be honest here. The logo doesn't stand a chance with the gaming community. Nothing can satisfy a gamer's benchmark for designs.... and ultimately its the gamers that are going to use this coin inside the game. Devs... how about hosting a logo competition. It will lighten the mood here a bit with the community while you guys are working on the solution. I feel a redesign is essential in this era of cool coin logos  im seeing C2 logo with phoenix on it XD ... well just my imagination |

Yeah, no answer from Bter. This still makes me nervous, because my coins after dilution are stuck in one address, where other deposits are processed.

On BTER or Mintpal. Bter has raised confirm times to over 100 confirms. It will show up but I have asked them to freeze the market. Dont worry. They are there.
I have 80000 C2.0 in my local my local wallet. Should I send them to Bter? Leave them in your wallet and earn PoS rewards till next announcement. |

edit* it's 3 confirmations for BTC, not sure how many for c2. BC atm is 10 confirmations and CINNI 15. Clearly, not enough, but minty wants trading fees!

I was once told, over spending 51% hack in PoS coins only hurt the perpetuator but not affected others.

It would not hurt others because others wallets are encrypted (can't touch your c2 because of your personal key). A 51% double spend only works when the scam artist 'spends' the coins, which then 'pop' back into his wallet. In this case, a double spend was sent to mintpal, so mintpal accounted for coins which they did not have, at this point in time, the attacker had a few million coins in his wallet and mintpal also beleived that they had those coins. The scam artist then spends those coin credits (given to him by mintys internal accounting system) by trading them for BTC before anyone @ mintpal picks up that they (mintpal) don't really have these coins. In our case, this actually happened several times allowing the scam artists to make mintpal beleive that he deposited 22 million coins on their exchange. If we assume before the scam, mintpal had 10 million coins, then after the scam, mintpal beleived they had 32 million! What would of happened then is that people would of withdrew over time all 10 million real coins from mintpal, then, someone would try to withdraw some more but there would be non to withdraw! Mintpal would have 0 real coins but their accounting systems would show a value of +22 million. Alarm bells ring etc etc etc. Double spend can not affect your coins in your wallet, ever. Double spend is exactly that, a merchant thinks he has recived payment in c2 for something and gives you what he thinks you paid for and BOOM! blockchain syncs up, double spend obliterated and the c2 isn't there. Think of it like a credit card charge back. This didn't happen on BTER because they wait for 100 confirmations before any deposit. Mintpal waits for 3. so....... it can only happen if we don't secure the block chain by leaving coins on exchanges and it can only WORK if exchanges have fucking stupid low confirmation times like mintpal when compaired to BTER. And block chain explorer says, the coins aren't in Bter address, but the amount is diluted by 20k chunks in separate address, where seems any deposit is processed before it shows up in account.
Market, deposits and withdrawals are disabled, no access to my funds.
I feel like I lost my NC2, even those, who have their stakes in Mintpal could be calmer.
How long ago were they sent to bter? It took about 24 hours for mine to show up last time. I have some on there. It's about 10 hours since I deposited. I am a bit afraid, because they disabled everything and I suppose they frozen the deposit engine. Anyway, I sent them a ticket. Don't worry with this, they will unlock or cancel deposits and withdrawals for coins exchange. I have pending withdrawals at MintPal, BTer and Poloniex because I have tried to get my coins back into my computer wallet after attack. This being said, I don't understand why people are holding so much coins on exchanges which aren't as safer than banks. Nothing's left except waiting... |

i hope not! i feel raped i feel hopeless my coins 100K worth which i paid $$cash for is stuck in limbo in MintPal land i will never trust leaving my coins in any exchange ever again  Devs will fix this issue, no doubt. Take away message? This attacks effectiveness is proportional ti the ammount of coins kept on exchanges and inversly proportional to the ammount of coins being staked. Keep your coins in your wallet and stake them. Only move what ammount of coins you whish to trade in 1 trading session to exchange. Withdraw a.s.a.p. (serisously though bter had no problems, wtf minty, ammature hour or what?) Yeah, I deposited to Bter right before announcement that market is disabled. Now my coins are invisible, somewhere on Bter side, but not visible in my account. I don't see any problems with Bter. Deposits and withdraw works just fine. The problem is that I deposited some minutes before they disabled market. That's why I am worried, because even after 9 hours my account doesn't hold sent NC2. |

I don't see 28mlj coin output to other addresses, except in one transaction to address, where 1.66mlj coins are still unspent. Other recent transactions outputs are to the same address. Sorry for my stupidity!  final balance: 0 empty wallet now. we are doomed. double spend twice and let thief walking through. But there are transactions to itself.
