501  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mining - the new ponzi on: March 07, 2014, 11:30:01 AM
Well, when everyone knows that ponzi is ponzi, it is not really a ponzi since no one is lying to any one here.

If there ponzi people doesn't know it is ponzi, yeah we have a problem here. Some evidences would be nice, but we all know it is a problem.
502  Other / Off-topic / Re: Marc Andreessen doesn't hold more than one satoshi of Bitcoin. on: March 07, 2014, 11:26:36 AM
Yesterday there were large sell of bitcoins on market. Even though it is hard to tell if it was one person selling or just some random panic, but whenever something like that happens once in awhile, I always think about those big bitcoin holders out there Wink
503  Other / Off-topic / Re: Millionaires Only Thread - No Plebs Allowed! on: March 07, 2014, 11:20:20 AM
You want to gather nicknames and ips of people that should get hacked ? I guess most of people who make a lot of money on it, and there are plenty of them, will probably stay low. Look on Satoshi. He is smart, probably already bought his own island and he's considering how many wifes he should have.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seems like China is dominating the market again with 71% of the volume? on: March 07, 2014, 11:15:12 AM
China has weird currency. It is control by government in a weird way, I'm not sure if it still like it was when i was reading article in Scientific American about it. In general they currency is controlled in such way prices stay same and we all know it is artificial as hell. Post-soviet countries had same problem with currency controlling so hard to pretend there are no inflation, even though there always is.

On other hand I hear all the time China move closer to free market, moving from Marx to Confucian  way of doing business. Maybe there were any changes but i still guess any other currency, especially one you can use all over the world and is not accepted as official currency, so smaller control from government, might be very nice for them.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Talks to CIA... Drops off Map... WTF!?!?!?! on: March 07, 2014, 11:11:02 AM
yes its true. the around the same time gavin decided to accept the invitation to speak at the cia thats when satoshi nakamoto decided to go away.

whoever the real nakamoto is , it's clear that he/she was/is  very paranoid of government and wants nothing to do with bitcoin as soon as government starts asking questions.

He disappeared from public view before that.  His famous "hornet's nest" post (his second last, made in December 2010) was in response to a PC Magazine article about Wikileaks and Bitcoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2216.msg29280#msg29280

He appealed to Wikileaks not to use Bitcoin, believing that an association between the two could destroy Bitcoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1735.msg26999#msg26999

Gavin did not announce the planned visit to the CIA until April 2011, over 4 months after Satoshi disappeared from public view.

https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=6652.0

I haven't heard about this hornet's nest post before, I guess mostly because I'm not that much into spy novels Wink But it is nice to get this info from you. Now i understand why he is keeping low.
506  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: March 07, 2014, 11:05:04 AM
This thread is very interesting to read right now. I notice some people being rather pessimistic at start but I'm guessing you don't worry any more Wink

I actually wonder for how many years it will be updated and how often Smiley
507  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Block solving times 2-3 hours?? Most the time it's less than a hour. on: March 07, 2014, 11:00:41 AM
Well difficulty of bitcoin has an impact on price, but not other way around. Well maybe because number of miners changes accordingly to current coin price, but it is not super flexible since mines require certain investment that you can't monetize right away at point when you decide it is not worth it. S til some people stop mining, it becomes easier for other people, so in general people don't want to stop, hoping that others would.

Even at global panic, with large withdrawal, mining would become so easy people who actually keep they cool wins.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of ALLcoin.com on: March 07, 2014, 10:51:09 AM
But you lose anything there or they just wont execute your order ? How much did you lose? Maybe some screenshots.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time for transparent and probvably-not-fractional-reserve exchange? on: March 07, 2014, 10:48:33 AM
Self audit ? I guess BP had such one before they spoil ocean. I think people should watch themselves and stop placing all of money on exchanges, instead just money they want trade with. Not to mention cold wallets etc.

It is free market and being best exchange is profitable because people will trust them, trust them with they money and coins. Soon we shall have such giants while some fail exchanges would still appear and fall
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's P2P foundation profile makes a reply on: March 07, 2014, 10:41:37 AM
It is rather hard to tell if it is real one. But if it is, just WOW.

I gues if he watched news recently he could get angry everyone is thinking he is some old dude with government paranoia hehe
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we want Satoshi Nakamoto to stay a mystery? on: March 07, 2014, 10:37:22 AM
Well he might get forgotten after awhile. I think if people really would want to know who he is, someone would already hack his accounts and trace his ip or something. For now it is nice to have some mythology and something to get excite about. It puts much more history into bitcoin community.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 07, 2014, 10:31:57 AM
It was so obvious it was fake. Anonymous person using real name, some random old dude who had recently stroke. Newsweek that everyone forget still exists.

Maybe next time people will be smarter.
513  Economy / Marketplace / Re: New faucet available - ForeverFaucet.com on: March 07, 2014, 10:27:05 AM
eh another faucet...

People really should try something new, like faucet that actually do something useful.

Not to mention there are a lot of scams out there. I can't tell anything about this one though. For me it is just another one, among hundreds.
514  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: March 06, 2014, 07:10:19 PM
Nice someone make list of it, but I'm afraid it is much better to just go mine instead of trying to get some "free" bitcoins Wink

But again, good job on gathering all of them. It is definitely nice, large and probably camplete list of those kind of sites Smiley
515  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atomic Trade:you should refund 2.39btc to me on: March 06, 2014, 07:02:56 PM
He was drunk lest night, probably you sponsored his alcohol Wink

Nice that you placed all of those screen shots, I'm afraid atomic trade won't have many more customers
516  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Found, Now what? on: March 06, 2014, 06:59:05 PM
Probably everyone acknowledge it was fake, swear to never buy Newsweek and move on.

When it comes to Satoshi background i don't even think he would need any financial background. Finances knowledge is probably not that necessary, not to mention if he is smart enough and for sure he is, he can just easy learn on his own without college or anything.
517  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Bitcoin calculator, now support alternative coins on: March 06, 2014, 06:48:53 PM
Great job on this one. Also i like you actually take feedback into account and fix some minor problems. More people should start to act like that. Definitely I'll use this one, probably even today Wink.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goxcoin: New project to compensate victims of Gox and restore confidence in btc on: March 06, 2014, 06:18:12 PM
I'm not accusing goxcoin since i have like totally no information about it.

I am afraid though, that there might be incoming scams that would prey on gox victims and would try to make even more money on it. Mt.gox will definitely be big traumatic event for bitcoin world but we need to get over it soon since world is slowly but surely developing and we need to keep moving too. Message to all of mt.gox clients - try more "traditional" way of dealing with this problem.

Message for future clients of any exchange - don't keep all money at one place, use cold wallets, move to exchange sites only coins you want to trade with.
519  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Invades Ukraine. Whats next? on: March 06, 2014, 06:02:34 PM
Russia is doing similar thing as America. Even though officially world is no longer at cold war, somehow there are still different dictators being supported by different bigger countries. Egypt by USA, Syria by Russia, North Korea by China. Nuclear weapon saves us from any bigger war since everyone knows it would be our lest one. Current atomic weapons are much more powerful then those used on Japan
520  Economy / Economics / Re: [CHART] Bitcoin Inflation vs. Time on: March 06, 2014, 05:52:49 PM
This future inflation rate is rather confusing since it is not exactly stable change rate. How can you determine future sudden change while the value and moment of change can't be predicted by trend or past changes in any way. Unless there is possibility for it.
