1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Brave Browser Crypto Rewards Program on: October 26, 2019, 07:51:37 AM
Brave Browser has a crypto rewards program which pays $5 to $10 a month in BAT (basic attention token).

https://brave.com/

Their browser is open source with an emphasis on out-of-the-box adblock, greater speed, privacy and security.

Its rewards program is a small advertisement that opens on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Its a purely text based ad similar to google ads. Example:

I switched to using brave after reports emerged about google chrome not being reliable in terms of security. There have been many bugs and vulnerabilities which chrome devs strangely never got around to fixing.

Don't know much about BAT token. I would +merit for any useless tips or tricks anyone could share with BAT.

This type of innovative support for crypto in brave's rewards program could be a solid platform that could help to further mass adoption.

 Smiley

It doesn't deviate from what people normally do online with a browser and some of the ads are interesting and worth clicking.

I have been using Brave for a better part of this year, and I'm quite satisfied. I don't live in a region that supports their ad program as of yet, so I haven't had the chance to test it for myself, but the browser itself is better than Chrome, imo. It seems faster, and all Chrome plugins work just as well as they do in Chrome, so I don't see any downsides. There were some issues in the past, although updates seem to have fixed them along the way. As for BAT, it can be used for tipping on Twitter and maybe Reddit, and I think that the devs are planning to introduce tipping on other social media. Plus, you can tip individual creators on many other platforms, or even entire websites. Brave was also known to gift a few dollars worth of BAT to users, although I haven't seen them do that in a while now. Other than that, I am not a BAT user, although the opportunity to get it by watching ads is something I would be willing to do, once it becomes an option in my region.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of Altcoins have a future? on: October 25, 2019, 11:40:48 AM
The market for Altcoins has been bad recently, and many Altcoins have died and lost a lot of money. What kind of Altcoins do you think will die?thanks for sharing

Weak projects, those with flawed technology, those with no future in sight, or without use cases, and even those without good use cases are all going away. That probably means well above 90% of what is available right now won't survive the next couple of years. New coins might replace them, although I expect the number of altcoins to drop drastically in the next few years. It's safe to say that when we start celebrating 20 years of crypto, barely any names from today's markets will be present.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will TRX ever reach ATH on: October 24, 2019, 08:05:01 AM
TRON had a ATH of $0.25 which currently trading at $0.015, it's huge below than the ATH. Can we expect TRX to reach new ATH anytime soon? I'm holding a bag of TRON which is a significant loss for me. Please share you constructive opinion why do you think TRX will reach ATH soon, or why not.

It might not happen soon, but it likely will happen eventually. TRON is building a big ecosystem, with the number of dApps constantly growing. Not to mention that it is still tied to Bitcoin's performance. So, as soon as BTC starts surging, others will follow. If TRON doesn't make a wrong move in the meantime, it will likely reach its ATH, and maybe even go beyond. After all, it is much better established this time around than it was during the previous surge.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people easily get scammed on the internet? on: October 23, 2019, 11:13:00 AM
What is Scam?
Scam is a dishonest scheme that is carried out by an individual or groups of persons in mode of taking away something that is valuable to others. Those who perform these acts are reffered to as scamers.

How do people get involved, how easily are people scammed and reasons?

Many individuals think of the internet as a get rich quick scheme and once they are exposed to any form of investment promising high ROI, witjout a second taught they jump onto it, you and I as well know how this will end? In a nutshell, GREED is a factor

Secondly the inability to conduct research and make real findings on our own. All this as a result of laziness.

Add yours!!

I entreat all of us to be on the look out for scan projects, make our findings and proof beyound doubts their scam intentions and also avoid been greedy when making an inveatment

Lack of knowledge, lack of technology, lack of experience... Greed is definitely a factor, yes, but so is lack of effort. People would rather be like 'it will be fine' than spend some time to research the project and educate themselves on recognizing scams.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: who else think Litecoin will go huge? on: October 22, 2019, 11:34:50 AM
litecoin current price VS bitcoin is about 1 LTC = 0.0067 BTC

who else think litecoin will go up huge in the near future?

Litecoin does have potential to replace Bitcoin in the future, especially if BTC evolves into a store of value and abandons the position of an everyday currency. LTC uses the same technology, but it is modified and improved; it is accepted on most exchanges, and it is one of the oldest surviving altcoins. However, while I say that it does have potential, its price growth is currently still closely tied to Bitcoin's behavior, and I don't believe that LTC would do anything on its own in the foreseeable future.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Mixing Bitcoin?? on: October 21, 2019, 10:51:41 AM
Please I may not be the only lame man here I've longing to know why People typically use bitcoin mixers to mask any previous "questionable" transactions from the bitcoin that they are likely cashing out in their real name. Now let me know about purpose of mixing bitcoins.

As you may know, BTC transactions can be traced, and you have to verify your identity on pretty much all exchanges these days. So, if you withdraw BTC from the exchange to your wallet, there is a connection between your name and said wallet. From there on, the coins can be sent to other wallets or exchanges, and it is pretty easy to trace them further. Mixers make this impossible by mixing the coins of users and allowing them to withdraw coins to wallets and still remain anonymous. Basically, you can trace the withdrawal to the mixer. From there on, no one knows which coins are yours, especially if you split them into a smaller group. Think of that image of a ray of light entering the prism and exiting as a rainbow — only one or two colors are your money, but there is no way of telling which ones.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Brexit became the reason of Bitcoin’s downfall? on: October 19, 2019, 11:03:39 AM
Forsaking EU had been the long controversial topic in Britain, the previous PM, Theresa May tried for 2 long years to negotiate with the EU regarding Brexit, but the recent PM had been the epicenter of the earthquake called Brexit.

Read Source: https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/from-brexit-to-bitexit-does-brexit-mean-bitcoins-exit-from-the-crypto-union/

I doubt that it will have any effect at all. Bitcoin is not bound by any country, government, agency, or bank. Any whale could impact the price more than Brexit.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run / wishful think ? on: October 18, 2019, 06:23:32 AM
well, i dont believe that .
i just think with my logic, how people, or whales or big investor or whatever their name, will put their money to the crypto market easily without think first, or even if they think first, did they will think about consequence from their action ?
maybe mass sell will come from another side who have been waiting that moment.
just because end of the year will come and u think bull will comes too ?
or someone can explain me about bull run signal or whatever u call that, because i totaly think that just no more than wishfull think.

Bull runs do tend to happen around that time, it is a psychological effect that the end of the year has. The whales expect it, which is why they often make their move beforehand, thus starting the bull run. Psychology plays a big part in investing, which impacts the prices.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright as "Bitcoin creator" at a conference in London!!! WTF??? on: October 17, 2019, 10:21:39 AM
I mean, it was fun the first few hundred times when he made his claims, but now, it's just getting embarrassing. When will this man stop lying to everyone? Nobody even believes him, what's the point?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and kiddie porn on: October 17, 2019, 10:18:48 AM
Unfortunately, this was a big issue long before Bitcoin was created. These people will use anything at their disposal, be it BTC or USD. At least something is being done about it.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the Facebook Libra cryptocurrency idea? on: October 16, 2019, 06:52:42 AM
It's been a while I heard about Libra. I doubted my friend when I heard him say that Facebook (or should I say Zuckerberg) owns Libra. After then, I also say an airdrop (I don't know if it was scam or the real Libra coin).

Just a few hours ago, I was searching for an account on twitter when I saw a tweet which says that 2 senators had ask Visa and PayPal to pull away from Libra. Except that, there have been a lot of warnings about Libra coin. To be honest here, thinking of the mass population of Facebook users (over 2.3 billion Facebook users), I'm afraid that Facebook Libra coin would cause a big havoc.
Looking at one of the pictures I found on twitter, it's obvious that a lot of companies are pulling out already.

What's your take on Facebook Libra?

I am not surprised, Facebook has a habit of not listening to the authorities. While I would usually welcome that, its defiance is not a good thing. Facebook is after the profit for itself. It doesn't want to help people, and it doesn't follow the rules. Mark managed to pull through some tight spots in the past, but it needs either the community support or the authorities backing him up, and he's got neither. No, I don't expect much from Libra, especially since it is barely a cryptocurrency at all, and it is a heavily centralized stablecoin.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will XRP Claim the #2 Position? on: October 16, 2019, 06:47:48 AM
To the ongoing Bull trend of Ripple (XRP), It is likely to gain 90% more to the current price of $0.2897 USD, with 0.00003475 BTC in terms of Bitcoins. XRP is more likely to push upwards and predicted to beat Ethereum to take its place and be ranked #2 in the cryptocurrency market.

XRP has a market cap of $12,517,129,114 USD with total supply of 99,991,330,383 XRP. The return on investment (ROI) for Ripple has stood at a whopping 4,836.66%. XRP has gained a total of 28% since the end of September and is residing in its trade beneath Ethereum.

If it does, it is quite likely that it will only be a temporary thing. Even if ETH does fall to #3 again, the launch of Ethereum 2.0 is bound to bring it back up, imo.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My list of 5 Sleeping Giants of 2020 :) on: October 16, 2019, 06:46:08 AM
Let me know your thoughts:

    1. THETA (THETA Network Token): this is based on my underlying assumption that the first winner in what is now a pool of shitcoins/tokens will be one to attract an audience that gets to interact with something connected to its blockchain in real life. Genuine blockchain technology supporters are either young or developers (NOT the investors/traders/financial institutions backing it), This generation is generally nihilist, doesn't give a fuck about existing power structures, and wants to create and live within an ecosystem created and designed according to their needs, not others. Where better to start than something like THETA and the THETA Network / THETA coin,
which brings a decentralized version of online streaming (think Twitch on steroids) catered to gamers and their fans. Twitch supports the project, its launched a successful mainnet, operates a visually stunning platform through sliver.tv (which is currently building support base). Theta Fuel operates like BAT tips, where users can subscribe to channels and get virtual perks and a host of future developments. Just think...  Dr. Disrespect himself making a live appearance on Sliver.tv and doing a 24/hr stream-athon.

    2.  ADA (Cardono): Not really a SLEEPING giant, but compared to its often cited rival, EOS, the ADA platform is ridiculously more sophisticated, well-thought out, and is slowly being implemented to ensure a smooth transition into Shelley. Regardless of whether Shelley drops this month or next year is immaterial to its long term use case. The Cardono user base is (a) extremely active (b) the highly technical network allows for non-technical users to stake and participate, (c) the ADA developer cost / coin value is tiny -- meaning users are getting highly developed technical support developed and designed by some of the worlds brightest engineers for a fraction of a penny of what it costs to be a Bitcoin or XRP developer. Cardano is truly decentralized and assigns "master node" status at random to anyone able and willing to maintain a stable internet connection 24/7. At $.04, you'd be crazy IMO not to put aside 5% or so of your portfolio for ADA. ADA will defeat the multi-billion dollars shitcoin, EOS, which is run by some kid with a shitty track record. I don't even understand how their ICO generated so much cashflow

    3. BNB (Binance Coin): Owning BNB is more comparable to owning shares in a company than most coin offerings, but even at $18.00 it is so undervalued. Binance is to crypto-trading what Apple is (or used to be) to the retail tech industry. Bigger, faster, and more creatively Binance's growth internationally will inevitably drive up the price of its own coin. This is true despite the fact that a large majority of users can't even access BNB (the US) without going through backdoor channels. Every other exchange just creates a platform and leaves it running. Binance is actually developing partnerships with countries, banks, and ICOs to offer a variety of offerings no other exchange offers.

    4. DGB (DigiByte): Not many know this, but DGB has been actually been around since 1993 while. Similar to LTC, but 100x faster, DGB is a BTC carbon copy. It is a decentralized global UTXO PoW based blockchain with a focus on Cyber Security, DigiAssets, Payments & Secure Communications Technologies. It allows for 15-second block time (60 transactions per second) at a virtually free (<.0001USD/transaction). Why is the price of DGB so low right now (.008USD) is hard to say, but likely corresponds with a high circulating supply, coupled by lack of awareness and not being available on many platforms. Look for DGB to begin being exchanged on more and more platforms as ALTs increase and BTC dominance continues to drop below 50% next year. DGB is appealing because when it jumps, it JUMPS. Look at the daily charts and check out June 2017 and January 2018, followed by a couple of smaller waves. We still haven't hit the third Jump, although it seems imminent and could perhaps occur even before 2020.

    5. MANA (Decentraland): Connects digital currency with the purchase or land. Think about that - buying parcels of land online in an instant by using their marketplace platform. How fucking cool is that? MANA is a direct and actual use-case example, and its based upon real estate. I'm just learning more about MANA, but other than THETA, I haven't seen a better use-case offering yet.
Cool

BNB and ADA definitely have the most potential, although I would rather choose Cardano than Binance Coin, since BNB success depends on what will happen to Binance. Binance seems to know what it wants, as well as what it is doing, but one big screw-up, and the coin would suffer greatly. ADA, on the other hand, might go for the stars some day, and the only issue with it is that it likes taking its time.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is controlled not just manipulated but controlled on: October 15, 2019, 06:49:46 AM
Bitcoin and Other crypto bots controlling the btc price.

Bots are start buying at some spefic time.

WHO ever control those bots have control over bitcoin price!

So who is behind that bots?

This sounds like a conspiracy theory more than anything else. If you said that whales are to blame — okay, sure. If you said that the government is secretly buying BTC, okay, I can understand that. But someone controlling the bots that act in accordance with parameters you set — I'm going to need some proof of that first.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi wasn’t created by blockchain on: October 15, 2019, 06:46:53 AM
satoshi didn't creat blockchain, because blockchain was created 17 years before Bitcoin was born. and with name Time-stamp. time-stamp was created in 1991 by Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornetta. but not adopted en masse. because it has a common problem of byzantium. and in 2008 satoshi solved this problem with alternative solutions. namely through proof-of-work created by Satoshi, then Bitcoin was born as a verification tool on the blockchain. so make no mistake. satoshi is not creator of the blockchain. but only perfecting time-stamps (now blockchain) that have common problems and solve them with bitcoin.

True, he did not create it from scratch, but he figured out how to make it work, so I think that he still deserves some credit for that. He also didn't invent digital money, but he did create a way for it to work, and it still works almost 11 years after the fact.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitwise Rejected a place in the SEC on: October 15, 2019, 06:43:47 AM
Can this be an indication of the end of the Cryptocurrency trade?

do a quick google search of this keyword: "SEC rejects bitcoin ETF" you will find news articles dating as old as 2017 (there may be some in 2016 too). that should answer your question.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that Winklevoss twins have been at it since 2013, with one rejection after another throughout the years.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dead? on: October 14, 2019, 09:26:23 AM
Interesting article about the death of ICOs and the emergence of IEO... https://cryptotradernews.com/investing-trading/are-icos-really-dead/

What do you guys think? I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They just need to be regulated in more efficient ways. Most ICOs from 2017-2018 never delivered on their promises because they were being ran by a bunch of assholes who didn't deliver squad... We need more regulation. Only then will ICOs get better imo.

These days — still not quite dead, but they will likely never be what they used to be. IEOs are the way to go, even though they are a bit limiting.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No other currency on: October 14, 2019, 09:23:48 AM
What if there is no other crypto currency or alt coin. How does it affect the price of the bitcoin. How high is the value of bitcoin in your opinion.?

No altcoins would mean no ICO fever. That would mean no increase in prices, no new investors coming into the crypto space, no surge of BTC, and no coming out of the shadows. Bitcoin maybe wouldn't even be alive today if there were no altcoins.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Stress and Happiness on: October 14, 2019, 09:21:03 AM

In my almost four years of getting involved (just an ordinary holder and part-time trader, nothing so great actually), I am so sure that Bitcoin can be a major source of stress especially if you bought them at a higher price and then the price made some slide. Now, I am not saying that it is Bitcoin's fault because stress in the first place depends a lot on our perception and how we are managing it. But definitely, we can categorize as a stressor at some degree.

On the other hand, Bitcoin can also be the source of "happiness" especially when the coin is having a great time jumping upwards. Certainly, there can be euphoria if in 2020 Bitcoin can go higher that its 2017 ATH. Bitcoin is known for extreme volatility and it can go from one side to the other in matter of hours and days.

No wonder that Steve Wozniak the Apple co-founder sold his bitcoin because riding the roller coaster stressed him out.

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?

I think that traders stress a lot more than hodlers. Hodlers don't expect quick returns. They invest some money into BTC, put it in a wallet, and don't think about it at all for years. Whatever is happening now or in the short term is of no concern to them, they know that BTC will skyrocket eventually, and until that happens — they don't care. It's a good way to eliminate stress imo, just store it and don't think about it.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: October 12, 2019, 05:42:46 AM
It does seem like we are moving toward it, as more merchants - as well as companies - are starting to accept it and use it themselves. It is very interesting to follow this progress, it's like watching history unfold. In a way, i suppose that is true, actually.
