101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 24, 2014, 07:59:35 AM
no, it's only been around for two weeks.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 23, 2014, 06:38:04 PM
wow gpools that makes my 84k hvc look tiny.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 23, 2014, 05:56:13 PM
this will go down again but overall as long as it gradually trends upwards, no matter how slowly, then I am happy. I mean I think the coin is doing very well considering it's like 2 weeks old.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 23, 2014, 11:25:51 AM
Block reward dropped about 20% to 577 for next 5.7 days. It might drop even lower after that.
It's now pretty expensive to mine HVC at current price. Good time to buy it cheap I think.

yup the future is looking good, glad i kept my ipo stake and bought more rather than dumping.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 23, 2014, 09:21:26 AM
I think the block reward is still to high for the coin.. Vote LOW!

To make this coin viable & increase the liquidity there must be enough coins in circulation first & to make this, early vote should be on middle side (not too high in order to prevent dumping) & not so low (in order to prevent less circulation) so around 500-700 coins per block is fair enough at this moment while we are still in early days of the coin. Once we have enough coins in circulation then only HVC can hit major exchanges like Cryptsy & if after that block reward decreases, it will ultimately give big profit to early birds who started mining during early days & of course holding like a boss.

I really agree that we need to be on more echanges, however I would say in order to get to the middle ground of 500-700 coins per block it is necessary to vote very low, i.e 1, in order to cancel out people voting in the higher extreme of 1028.

it's funny, the gap between selling offers and buying ones on mintpal is getting bigger as nobody seems to be listing their coins for sale anymore, you have the regular instadumpers but apart from that most people seem to holding, like a boss Smiley, very encouraging.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 22, 2014, 03:52:45 PM
I know this sounds odd.. but still an idea.. how about offering an amount of HVC in groupon? this would be like giving HVC for half the price but still  it would make some huge publicity for the normal user and promoting HVC as the next major cryptocurrency
what do you think?

Interesting idea... please expand.

+1
+1, do it keccak512, or you should hire a market pro

Glad you find it interesting Smiley..
So the idea is to use some of the HVC destinated for bounties or that the HVC community donate an amount of HVC to make the deal with groupon. At the groupon website www.groupon.com they could offer for example 10, 20 or 30 HVC (40% discount for example). to each user that buy the offer and sell the deal as a big opportunity and chance that this new crypto-currency become in the future the next Bitcoin and that the price could increase exponentially. The offer would describe how to download the wallet, sign in into an exchange (mintpal) and receive the coins.
The advantage of this is that , whetever people sell or kipp their coins immediately after their purchase them is that you get access to hundreds of thousands of interested people, views and in the process "educate" them into the crypto-currency world.

Im aware that groupon takes 50% of the price they sell and that they expect an address and something they can hold to.
I believe this could be a huge advertisement system for HVC and the crypto-currency world.

I agree entirely, in fact the bounty pool could in general be used a lot for for raising awareness, because on paper this coin has so many advantages over litecoin.

contemplating buying more and not just holding.

I would like to see more more activity focused on development here. What's going on with this coin that justifies a price increase?

Shouldn't the price keep falling with all the gpu mining?

why would it keep falling? these coins are getting harder and harder to obtain. plus if you have been reading he read you will know of all the advantages this coin has.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 21, 2014, 02:18:37 PM
it all does depend on publicity but we are out there now on a major exchange, we need to get on more exchanges, because that's more exposure for the coin and when gpu miners come over from bitcoin we will pick up a decent amount of that hashrate in all probability.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin sCrypt | new Client v1.2 | NOW ON MINTPAL! on: March 21, 2014, 02:15:48 PM
good solid reasoning, that's what I was after, cheers chaps. This coin and HVC have good futures. this one if it turns out to be asic resistant given the fact the difficulty is so high already that it's hard to get. HVC because the difficulty is climbing rapidly, it has a innovative voting feature, is asic resistant and can be GPU mined using a shit load less power than normal GPU mining and cards run cool, no more than 50 degrees with the right settings. Looking good for both these coins considering Litecoin is so hard to mine and asics are gonna destroy its mineability by normal gpu soon enough Smiley

hate to say it guys but what exactly makes this coin unique? a look at how fast it's sinking on mintpal suggests it's dying fast.

are you new to trading? you do realize that BTCS is really volatile and just started trading on mintpal? extreme price fluctuations are to be expected.

BTCS was never dead. that btc2.cryptominer.net pool has been open since launch and anyone could have mined thousands of BTCS up until a few days ago.

It sounds like you are mad or something, did you miss the train? I sure didn't.

haha, look I didnt miss the train, I have a few BTCS however I don't really see evidence of much of a community like you are advocating, I mean look how many pages this thread has, then look at the heavycoin thread. I am only looking to find out what is unique about this coin and nobody can seem to give me a rational answer, the community isn't an answer, I mean is the coin asic resistant etc? also whilst I expect volatility especially early in trading, the lack of buy orders is quite staggering.

The community is not here because it was banned here.  There is a large community for this coin over at cryptocointalk, go take a look.  there is a whole dedicated forum not just 1 busy thread. The coin is dedicated to remaining asic resistant and the community is already planning a vote with its is decentralized voting system about changing the algorithm.

Thanks guys that answers my question, I will head over there, despite my negativity I do want this coin to succeed, and if it's asic resistant then I think it will.

fair enough good arguements but what is it that makes this coin unique?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin sCrypt | new Client v1.2 | NOW ON MINTPAL! on: March 21, 2014, 11:42:54 AM

some pronostics about the low volume trade on mintpal?

dont worry about it, our long term prospects look good and the difficulty will keep going up so people wont be dumping forever.

hold and add to your HVC portfolio.

like a boss.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 21, 2014, 09:15:48 AM

Does anyone else feel the positive momentum building behind HVC or am I just having delusions?!?!?    Cheesy

yes very positive, plus the price is holding strong like a boss. Low trading volume is the only concern although that means people arent really dumping everything they get which is a good sign.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: March 21, 2014, 09:04:00 AM
Damn this coin is gonna be so damn good when asic comes to scrypt and litecoin is no longer gpu mineable.
what do you mean, 'when'? http://gridseed.com/ :p
( and KnC's just miiiiight actually come to market, too )

I mean when there are enough of them in circulation to make mining coins like litecoin untenable with gpu.
