I`m not a big fan of horror movies, but for me the paranormal activity movies were scary. But only at night. Watching them at daytime is boring. 

I think it is important, but it`s getting more and more unneccessary because of the natural sciences, which brings us more and more facts. Facts are more important than speculations.
