1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking is not for Muslims on: March 26, 2021, 07:36:28 PM
Staking in crypto is like interest in Fiat.
You lend (stake) your crypto and get reward (interest) for it.
I suggest all my Muslim brother to stay away from this new kind usury.
I am quite astonished with what OP has mentioned in this thread. So you are saying if you earn profit on your investments it is sin in Muslim culture? As many have mentioned how do do banks operate in Muslim regions as they are engaging in earning direct interest from customers which is not the case with staking as it is different concept. So you need to inquire first about what you are writing and then gave such comments as everyone wants to earn and if they are earning in any legit manner it is good until they are not hurting someone's sentiments.
Profit on investment is allowed but lending money and earning interest on it is not.
If you invest in some ico/ieo and the projects share it's profit with its token holders, it is absolutely fine.
Staking is different. It's not investment, it is lending.

What about staking coins where the coins don't leave your wallet where all you have to do is activate staking while retaining your full balance without locking it up?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PlatinumBAR XPTX - Rare Cryptocurrency with PoW / PoS (230%) on: July 04, 2019, 08:10:48 PM
According to the Komodo website, XPTX needs to be BIP65 compatible/enabled and needs to have the following API calls:

estimatefee
getblock
getblockhash
getinfo
getrawmempool
getrawtransaction
gettxout
importaddress
importprivkey
listunspent
listreceivedbyaddress
listtransactions
sendrawtransaction
signrawtransaction
validateaddress

Any idea if it's BIP65 ready?

And if as on queue Komodo announces a mobile DEX/Multiwallet.

I think the only thing we are going to have left is pay for a listing on a actual exchange that allows USA.  Have no other options at this point I feel like.

Coinexchange is an option but I'm not sure what the listing fee is, last I heard it was around 2 BTC but that was a few months ago and exchanges are changing their listing fees regularly. I don't like to use VPN on exchanges because there is a risk of getting caught which I don't like to risk. I guess we need to see if the community can come together and maybe set up a donation fund to pay for another listing.

What about getting it on Barter/HyperDEX from the guys at Komodo?  I am 99% sure the coin is compatible, all we would have to do is apply I think.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PlatinumBAR XPTX - Rare Cryptocurrency with PoW / PoS (230%) on: May 24, 2019, 10:41:24 PM
I've always been here.

It's nice to see what people post about me when I don't post here for awhile.  Shows who I'll listen too and who I'll ignore.

Just read over the posts since I was here last.  Interesting comments about me - even some people calling me a scammer.  Not sure exactly how I scammed people.  The coin really hasn't been worth much and any coins I own, I've mined myself just like everyone else.  If I want to sell those, it's up to me to do that or not.

There are some powerful holders of XPTX who I've been in contact with the entire time.  Bitcointalk is WAY DOWN on the list of places to communicate.

If you have the mindset that since you bought or mined this coin that I in some way owe you something, you're wrong.  Like I mentioned on Twitter, I'm not a CEO, owner of the coin, etc.  Just like there isn't a CEO of Bitcoin, there is NO CEO of Platinumbar.

Remember that an idea is worth nothing.  It's easy to blurt out ideas, execution is the hard part.  I've got a lot of people saying do this or do that, why don't you get up and do it yourself.

I'm deciding if I'm going to lock this thread or not because it seem to be getting toxic.  I could go and moderate out the garbage, but, quite frankly, it's a waste of my time.

I'll keep it unlocked for now.  The people who are posting here:  try to be positive.  If you think of an idea for the coin, get feedback from the community and if you get positive feedback, execute it yourself!  Platinumbar is OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE.  If you want to create something, create it.  It doesn't help the community to bash me or the coin or get all pissy that I should be doing this or doing that.

Some of you are more concerned about what I'm doing then what you're contributing to the coin.

Remember one thing, I've got all the time in the world.  If you want that clock to move slow, complain and do nothing to help the coin.  If you want the clock to move fast, do something, spread the news and be active and positive - be a leader and not a follower.

If you don't like what is happening here, sell your coins and get off the bus.  Someone else will come along to fill your spot.

I'm planning on be the most active on Twitter.  Go there is you want to talk to me.

Sorry if I'm not kissing your ass.  It's really not my style.

If I would decide to give up on this project, I will let everyone know.  Don't waste your time trying to speculate if I'm dead or in jail.

Lastly, I want to thank the people who've been positive and supportive the entire time.  People who've promoted the coin, setup and run other social channels, and have been generally productive and positive.  I would also like to thank the people who donated coins for the explorer and nodes - they're paid for an entire year!

If I've said anything bad or toxic I take it back.  I know you've been the Dev since day one and the only real issue I've had was worrying about the coin being delisted because it had seemed that it was abandoned.  I'm still staking and will continue to stake.

I won't say welcome back, because you never left Smiley...but it is good to see you.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PlatinumBAR XPTX - Rare Cryptocurrency with PoW / PoS (230%) on: January 18, 2019, 08:52:12 PM
The dev is either in jail, dead, or a moron.  Either of the 3 can be plausible.  Join the discord for a active chat on how we are looking into possibilities on a fix for this.

The wallet works perfect. The coins traded in 3 exchanges. What's to be fixed?

No website = delisting from Cryptopia, not that it matters now since they are down while they investigate the hack.

It's a shame Blackchopper has abandoned the coin.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [ChainZilla] Signature Campaign - Seniors and Up on: October 27, 2018, 12:15:42 PM
So quiet 3 round...
Wink

We are making the payouts for the final round and we will close the Bitcointalk signature campaign for now. Compared to other marketing and community building techniques it didn't really yeild the results we wanted.

Thank you.

Can you elaborate on that?  I'm pretty much a fan of anything Komodo related and if there is a way I can help I will.

I'll keep the signature up until I find another campaign though Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need a bullrun? on: October 23, 2018, 10:54:53 PM
Hi, community!
I want to share my thoughts about Bullrun which is according to many users here is coming.

First of all, the purpose of most crypto is to become public and gain mass hype, to be popular not in the narrow community, but widely, most of them are aimed at your uncle, aunt, grandma, children etc.

What do all of them want? Stable service. How can a normal, usual person use a currency which is able to gain or loss +-10-15% in minutes? And this is a common situation in crypto.

For example, Joe wants to pay for a service with the token, when he decided to do it and everything is ready for exchange the price is gained in 10%, do you really think that somebody will use such service in everyday life? Roll Eyes
And for now, we have a rather stable market, that is predictable, there are less and less to the moons.

And opposite side, imagine that there will be a Bullrun, who will profit? Speculators and bounty hunters who will sell their tokens, not customers. What public opinion another Bullrun will cause? That crypto is speculation thing, where you are able to become rich, it is not about services or products, speculations only.

I, as the token holder, will be happy with Bullrun, but at the same time, I really think that it will cause more damage to all crypto industry.

Share your thoughts Cry

No, as long as there are gains over time.  It doesn't have to be a bull run though.  It would be nice but as long as money keeps coming in I am good with that.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world becoming tokenized? on: October 23, 2018, 08:30:08 PM
I get the impression that every influential entity has plans of creating its own currency. There's even speculation of Facebook creating its own ICO.

Do you think that fractionalized ownership will be applied to everything? Are all assets going to be tradable?

I think there will be a push towards that as everyone tries to get their share of the blockchain pie.  I really hope Facebook does not try to start their own currency unless it's to be used instead of in-game currency for their games.  As a platform I think it would be useful.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm afraid of losing money on: October 23, 2018, 08:23:42 PM
I think if you want your assets are safe, just buy a hardware wallet. That is safe wallet you can use. Like nano ledger or trezor is good wallet, I suggest you buy it in new condition.

Do not buy a used hardware wallet.  You have no idea what the previous owner potentially did to it and you risk losing your funds.  Don't skimp on security!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The energy that drives patience on: October 23, 2018, 08:22:20 PM
Be patient when something goes wrong, as originally planned. Success comes to those who wait, continuing to move forward.  Patience is one of the main components of critical thinking. It also helps to think analytically, constructively and creatively. When we cease to be nervous, the mind becomes clear, and the solution to many problems occurs almost immediately.

When planning your crypto strategy you also need to develop some contingency plans in case something goes wrong. Plan on what you would do if the market tanked the day after you invested your money and plan accordingly.  And let's not forget that in the cryptoverse the price can drop below Zero satoshi's.  There is the LTC and Doge markets too.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anxiety about cryptocurrency wallet hacking on: October 23, 2018, 08:19:17 PM
yes many crypto security systems have been developed, many personal wallets are being conveyed, maybe I just added a little of my knowledge about personal wallet systems such as samurai, metasmak, and of course there are many more security systems in the crypto world.

If you need to log into an exchange to conduct a transaction, you do not own your private keys.  Maintaining the security of your private keys is absolutely critical. The first step is to make sure you are encrypting your wallet and keeping a safe backup of your wallet/keys/seed phrase.

What I love is when someone on the internet is offended by truth they immediately go to throwing insults.  Lack of intelligence I suppose. Or in so balls deep that they will lie cheat steal and tell you whatever they have to to make sure they don’t become the victim of crypto and it’s overlords.  Anyway have fun with your thread hiphop. I see your not wanting truth just some bias leaning arguments that shore up your beliefs. Look into cognitive dissonance will ya

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the governments accept crypto? on: October 22, 2018, 11:28:28 PM
Most potential investors are hiding behind the walls because of the fear generated by the governments in regards to cryptocurrency. Once crypto gets the approval of all governments, both new and some old investors will invest without much fear and this will increase the demand and usage of crypto in our daily lives. The value of the market will increase as well.

It's still early days for Crypto.  Many potential investors are also waiting for the tax implications to be worked out.  I know that many governments already have but only time will tell.  I am optimistic about the future of Crypto in general, but I would like to see the scammy side trimmed down a little.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it to put everything in one cryptocurrency? on: October 22, 2018, 02:49:50 AM
I've been thinking a lot about this issue. I heard more than once that many are discussing this topic. Is it safe to invest everything in one, two cryptocurrencies? Or to distribute all the money in all the coins available for this amount?

Spread it around a little.  If you are going to only invest in a single coin make it Bitcoin.  At least that way you get the benefit of getting the coins from any future forks.  But even then that's a risk.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu miners are selfish, butt hurt gamers on: October 22, 2018, 02:47:48 AM
I am sick and tired of hearing you whining gpu miners about asics. i can tell you are not long in this industry.

where the hell were you when cpu's went to gpu's? no butt hurt talk then. this is because you got into this industry due to you
sitting in your parents basement playing video games with your gpu and found out it could be used for mining and making money.

asics are actually more decentralized than gpu's. not everyone is a cryptogeek and cry baby. one can purchase a ascis and secure the blockchain at their home with very little effort compared to gpu, mining.

cry me a river you late people to the blockchain butt hurt gpu selfish miners...

hip hop and away... Kiss

Both ASIC's and GPU's have their place.  GPU's are low cost of entry while ASIC's are not.  With ASIC's you are forced into upgrading pretty much as soon as the next generation comes out or the difficulty goes up and mining becomes unprofitable.  GPU's hold their value over time and can mine a wider variety of coins.

My first miner was a Butterfly Labs 60G unit was my first.  Quickly expanded upon that and eventually rolled over to GPU mining until that became unprofitable.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Breaker blowing with no changes in mining hardware on: October 22, 2018, 02:07:48 AM
Thought I figured out out but the 60 amp 220 breaker blew again last night and now the breaker box smells hot.  So I shut off the breaker and I'm going to call an electrician.  Killing me to not be running but its better then a burned down house.  I'm assuming its the breaker since it smells hot and I've cycled off and on all my rigs and the breaker keep blowing.  Once its fixed I'm moving a couple rigs inside until I get more power to my shed, I'm guessing I ran it too close to the limit for to long.

Smart move.  Do it right and don't half-ass it.  Hopefully it doesn't cost you a whole lot and it's an easy fix.  I want to go solar eventually, but I need to wait for another Bull market before I can do that.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop panicking start believing! on: October 22, 2018, 02:04:47 AM
The current situation of bitcoin and all the crypto currencies were not good but it doesn't mean that this will be the end of the cryptos since we need to acknowledge that this is not the first time the crypto prices were falling this much so everyone needs to be patient and just get away from your panic this will help the prices to recover faster.Start believes that crypto currencies were going to be the future of this payment system and start HODLing that coins.

If you go in with the expectation that it's possible to lose your investment then you are off to a good start.  Too many people jumped on this bandwagon expecting it would keep going.  I think Crypto is here to stay and it will go up again, though it may take some time.  Once the big institutions start pouring money in it will take off.
