Hello crypto enthusiasts,
First of all we would like to thank everybody for putting their faith in our company and project Checkcoin.
With only 2 days left we believe it's time to share our plans with all early Checkcoin investors and be as transparent as possible. With the current % of Checkcoins sold on C-CEX we have not yet required enough funds to finish development, testing and PR as fast as we had originally planned. Right now a total amount of ~20 BTC is gathered by our ICO. We are still 2 days removed from our ICO closing but with the current volume on C-CEX we do not believe we will reach our original goal in the current time frame. Because of this, we had to review our original plans. We feel that it is only fair to discuss these plans with all early investors.
As we have stated before: If our ICO does not sell out, we will continue working on Checkcoin using company funding. However, with the growing volume on C-CEX we feel that it might be a better idea to extend our ICO with 1 month. This should allow us to follow our original plan and raise enough funds to develop, test and release our geolocation mobile applications on time.
[...]
BTC has flowed into the ICO. Will you now revert to your original development timeframe?

More a mission statement than a whitepaper. I do like the emphasis on usability though and "Enigma" is interesting (a great name, and very marketable). Not sure on it being closed sourced for all of eternity. Perhaps make it closed for a period of time? Here's where PESA is atm, for posterity -

Damn, we just dropped beneath 20k on Mintpal Guess people are really spooked about Mintpal, together with a general stillness in the altmarket. I don't think this is just a Naut problem, as most coins are either down or flatlined. not much support on Mintpal Support is very low for most coins though. I think the recent VRC hack caused a ton of big holders to withdraw their coins and wait things out. We might very well see a very quiet market for a little while until things clear out. agreed, the biggest problem is not the hack, but the roll-back...IMO...very bad for crypto...but creates an opportunity for coins like NAUT to stand out. Once we get PoS rolled out we will begin to explore ways to maintain the integrity of the blockchain. This is the response I wanted to read. Thanks BK!

BK and NAUT devs - please review the implications of the 8 million VRC hacked from MintPal on NAUT's move to PoS. The VRC devs are moving to hardfork as the 8 million VRC could constitute 51% of the staking coins and compromise the network. What would protect NAUT from such a scenario?

Does NAUT actually have a full-time dev? Or is one employed as the need arises? If that's the case, perhaps a dedicated NAUT team could be assembled to pioneer and execute future developments. NAUT has been reactive to date (PoS, multipool). There are coin devs out there forging paths and optimism has carried those projects to high market caps. Maybe NAUT can build on current momentum by furthering technical developments (sms gateways, stealth address, blockchain related advancements), while BK focuses on PR and adoption.
Stealth addresses are a big no no imo if you ever want to be accepted as a wall street investable asset. This whole anonymous thing has its uses but its a passing phase in these coins cycle of innovation. sms gateways is not a bad idea but its for the most part for societies that dont have smart phones yet and at the moment there are being some really cheap smart phones being developed so i see it as a non issue. You cant just copy innovation , it must be created from the collective ideas of things that work and these things you mention have not proven the test of time so theres no point implementing all the "hot new stuff" in the crypto space just for a quick $ cuz it simply wont work. wallets for smart phones are going to be worked on soon as POS is implemented would be nice to have a road map of current and previous developments so everyone knows where the coin stands The Vertcoin devs drew a distinction between "full anon" transactions and "privacy". Their recently released stealth address implementation is testament to that stance. Privacy is an aspect that should not be frowned upon and dismissed as catering only to evil do-ers. http://blog.vertcoin.orgThose of you have been around a while may remember, in the early days of VTC, there was some discussion over zerocoin implementation, and we made clear that anonymous/untraceable payments were not the direction we wanted to go with VTC – we are of the opinion that mainstream adoption won’t come from these features, and that they will actually damage the currencies that go down that route. The fact is, people don’t care about anonymity – if they did, they wouldn’t use social media etc.
However, we do believe in transactional privacy akin to what you expect from your legacy payment/banking systems, such that it’s not trivially easy for anyone to see your entire financial history.
Stealth addresses strike a good balance – all the transactions are still on the blockchain to be seen, but the link between an address and an individual is obfuscated. One thing that not many people seem to consider when talking about anonymity systems in cryptocurrencies is that true anonymous payments make all the blockchain tools you’re used to useless.
Stealth addresses increase privacy for a recipient by allowing you to publish a stealth address, which is like a seed which the sender then uses to generate a unique one-use Vertcoin address for the transaction. All the transactions remain public on the blockchain, but knowing the entire transactional history of your stealth address is now no-longer possible except for you, the holder of the secret key.

Congrats Fitch! Thanks for giving the viewers a good long look of your NAUTi ass!

SMS gateway, and/or stealth address implementation - release to coincide with the next halving. Then watch the rocket launch for the Ort Cloud and beyond.

BK - This might not be necessary, but have you considered having the PoS code audited first by another dev team to make sure it's correct? I know Bryce Weiner and his company does this, so maybe it would be worth asking them to look through it? Normally it's probably not necessary, but I was just thinking since this is a pretty big change and all.
good point but not sure I'd let a guy like weiner be responsible for this. I like the idea of an audit. Julian Yap seems reputable, I have had excellent experience so far...anyone have thoughts? Cool. He did a dev signed mac wallet for RZR. A signed wallet for NAUT would be great. http://julianyap.com/2014/07/03/enhancing-security-through-signed-mac-wallet-builds.html

Considering the dev premine is 50,000 coins and he just dropped 10,000 of it in IRC I have to say this seems to be one straight up dev. Good work sir!
correction it was 13000 in 4 rains and it's not finished i want to get rid of that premine so we can all forget about it very soon Kudos to you man. This coin is off to a great start (other than the crazy diff).

Dev just rained 10000 coins in #VeniVidiViciCoin.

I own 70% of all Razor in existence.
The question is, Should I dump or Should I not dump?
So much FAIL right here.

|

BTW if no one caught it, this is Open Source!
Anyone will be able to run a gateway! More layers, less exposure to the world!
So much WIN right here.

#4, black theme, followed by the red. Top option of entry #5 is nice too. I like that it's "The Future of Digital Currency". It's less ambiguous.

Troglodyte here renting some hash. What's the best pool mining NAUT atm? And is it cheaper to mine or buy at current rate?

Are there any plans to implement "anonymous transactions" (i.e. rocket fuel)?
