1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CMA][MANDATORY UPDATE] CrimeaCoin - a cryptocurrency for Crimea on: April 22, 2014, 06:20:43 PM
Congratulations to Crimeacoin community! We have mined over 1 million coins since the release date.

WOW!

If only somebody wanted them......  Roll Eyes
Smiley Good one!
We are working with a merchant which provides telecommunication services all over the world. They are going to accept Crimeacoin soon. This is going to be big milestone for Crimeacoin community.

So , this no name coin with no community support , no exchange is going to be used by a worldwide telecom operator?
Even as a joke , this ain't funny at all.

I doubt anybody on this board is that stupid to believe such a lie.
I am not asking for you to believe. There is no harm in waiting for the project with merchant to be completed. Nobody is getting harmed in the process anyway... Besides, haters will hate no matter what other people say Smiley
Btw, I looked at your casino. Looks like a good idea to implement brand new Crimeacoin.  Are you afraid of competition? I've heard it is tough business Wink

Russia is against cryptocurrencies..
Well, there is an interesting point regarding Bitcoins only. Technically there is no law saying people can't trade with crypto currencies in Russia. Russian central bank says they will monitor merchants closly if they see there are transactions involved converting FIAT currency into Bitcoins and vise versa. They don't like anonymous transactions. I have some friends in Russia who continue mining crypto money. They just forced to convert them into real money using foreign banks.
25% of total amount of coins will go to people of Crimea. The other 75% will be mined by the miners. Btw, only 1000 blocks were mined by miners since I made public announcement. It is 125'000 coins were distributed. The current difficulty is low - this is a time to start mining for sure.
We are working on Mac OS Wallet app. It will be released soon.

Crimea doesn't sound safe, but that's just me.  Undecided
Yes, Crimea is politically unstable at the moment. Their economy is a mess. I hope Crimeans will appreciate free coins in such tough times...
By the way Putin has signed the document few hours ago, which says that Crimea is independent country now. Here is a link to Russian news
http://top.rbc.ru/politics/17/03/2014/911671.shtml
The English translation will be on CNN in a day or two, I guess.
So, Crimea might have its own currency after all Smiley

So how about you cut the propaganda and answer my question above?
I estimate that our system can handle 2 million records (Crimea has 1.9 mln people) in less than one week timespan.

Less than a week? With people shooting at you?
1. All registration and coin distribution will be performed online.
2. There is no shooting... May be in Kiev, but it is the other country now... I know the Crimea area - there is a better gun control than in US.

I have paid coingen 2 days ago. Still got nothing. I have sent emails to them with no reply. Be aware - you can't get a refund with Bitcoin transactions.

Well , there you have it , the true face of a dev Smiley
Yes, I was shopping around for some solution. But I have to tell you that the resulting solutions were not acceptable. Some coin generators didn't even bother changing the P2P ports, some didn't include the icons...
At the end of the day we had to assemble and change bitcoin/litecoin sources ourselves! We have even implemented the Gravity Well, so the extreme mining and then sudden luck of it won't freeze the network.

Btw, we are working on building Mac OS wallet and Android wallet. Android wallet is very exciting app - it will have some unique features, which you can't find in the existing wallets. I can't disclose the details now but it will be outstanding Smiley

It took some times for this one to pop up.

Quote
1.   Geolocation of the IP address belongs to Crimea
2.   Applicant has provided email address while registering on www.crimeacoin.org website
3.   Government issued ID document number is typed in into registration form
4.   Government issued ID (Ukrainian passport or Russian passport) shows registration in Crimea.
5.   Government issued ID is scanned (the page with registration) and uploaded.

How long it will take for you to check this * inhabitants of crimeea = 20 years Huh
That is a good question. We have developed proprietary software which will take care 95% of all registrations. The approval/disapproval process will go fast. The rest of the difficult scenarios will be taken care of our support stuff, who can speak Russian and Ukrainian.
