Please add ZenCash.

https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/zen
https://explorer.zensystem.io/

website: https://zencash.com
discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/CEbKY9w

We would like our investors to be able to import wallets into CoinTracking.info

We have multiple development teams working on various zencash projects with a large supportive community.

Let us know what we can do to help make this happen.

What is the "Multi-Blockchain-API" used for altcoin wallet imports?

Is this something that we could possibly contribute to?  I work with the zencash team and would like to see zen included.

I started to Zencash mining. Which pool is the best for that? There are several as I see. Wanna use bitfire pool for that.

All are good.
You must flee from suprnova.
Suprnova = Thieves

I disagree that suprnova is a thief.  Except for some connectivity issues recently, suprnova works fine and is a good pool for zen.  ocminer is constantly on top of issues.  I've received everything I have earned. Below is from one of my accounts.

Why are there no actual instructions here on what needs to be done if I'm running a node?

Does a software update need to be done or not?

This is listed above as the official site but has no updated release: https://github.com/ZencashOfficial

But this fork has updated software: https://github.com/cronicc/zen/releases

Who is cronicc?  Is this version legitimate since it is not the official site?  And should I update my node to this version before the fork?

And is there an active block explorer?  http://zenblockx.minez.zone/ is still offline.

This is a point where we need absolute clarity in what steps to take or this fork will be a mess.

Specific instructions should be posted here and on the blog site.

They are working on a mandatory upgrade at block 117,000 to fix the security issues permanently.
Cronicc is one of the devs and its legit.  He has done the wallet binaries and added the temp fix that is already on the official git (extended replay protection)
Here is an explorer:  http://node1.zenchain.info:8886/

Keep an eye on the official git for the mandatory upgrade soon, they are testing it in testnet currently.  The win and Mac wallets will be updated when its released.

Hope it helps!

So as a node operator, just sit tight and wait?  The fork less than 24 hrs. That is cutting it very close.  How many nodes are there besides pools and exchanges?

ZenCash Update Saturday June 10 at 10 pm eastern

by BlockOps

After updating the security advisory and announcing the hardfork earlier today, some questions came up in slack that it would probably be helpful to answer here on the blog.

When we say we are going to perform a hard fork of ZenCash, what that means is we are going to require all participants in the ZenCash network to do an upgrade to the node software they are running. The upgrade will be required to be implemented by a certain block height, in this case 117,000. Any mining pool or solo miner who is running an older software version that tries to add blocks to the blockchain that will end up with orphaned blocks.

ocminer,
I'm getting a lot of "connect ETIMEDOUT 37.187.24.170:443"  on zen.suprova.cc

I'm also getting 502 or long connect times on zen.sup.rnova.cc

under attack again?

No but I've changed the IP recently, maybe a DNS refresh helps you.

zen.sup.rnova.cc seems like a good consistent response now.
zen.suprnova.cc is still hit or miss.  From a linux vps at digital ocean in NY.

Easy to give that advice when you haven't invested. For those who have invested it makes sense to encourage the market so the price can rise a little. Not much else they can do at the moment (many of them can't sell at all because bittrex locked the wallets). Rather than moan and bitch they better suck it up and cut the devs some slack ... it was really just one person, Movrcx (Joshua Yabut). I've seen much bigger companies go through worse because of a single person and then recovered to a bigger valuation (said person ended up nowhere in the end). It's doable.

After spending some time on slack tonight, I think it will recover. The market is memoryless, which will help.

I was invested but cut my losses at 40% when I realized what was happening after Joshua posted a picture of the sell off to his twitter in a mocking manner.

And it wasn't just Joshua, it was the whole Core team that was trying to defraud its users and not tell the exchanges about the exploit which could have been used to steal ALL of the coins on the network.

Proof: https://pastebin.com/3ZSbQY3h

They were worried that telling the truth would kill the coin. Guess what...

In the June 10th Video update (https://blog.zensystem.io/video-update-on-zencash-friday-june-10th-6-pm/) the explanation describes a hard fork of ZEN.  I was under the impression (from reading the Proof pastebin link above at [8:51]) that there might need to be a hard fork of ZCL and not ZEN.  Which is it?

If there is a hard fork of ZEN, what prevents miners staying on the original chain and creating a new coin like ETH/ETC?

Can we get some clarity on this??

We can't have another new coin....

ZENCASH:

Is the software with the the fixes version v.2.0.8-4?
If not when will the latest be released and how do we update?

When will Bittrex wallets be unlocked?

It is this version Zen 2.0.8-2

At this url: https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/zen

You can still trade Zen on Bittrex you are not able to deposit or withdraw. I expect Bittrex will unlock wallets when they are confident there is a low chance of a replay attack.

No, 2.0.8-2 is not the latest version.

Click on "3 releases" on github and you will see the newer versions. The readme has not been updated, which is confusing. I assume nodes should be running at least v.2.0.8-4 and wanted to know if there will be a release with the latest 6 commits that should be used.

There is a new site that breaks down costs and profitability using NiceHash.com to mine.

It just went up, is still in beta (kinda rough), and asking for feedback.

It is limited to Equihash at the moment but will add more if there is interest and support.

check it out:  WhatToPayForMining.com

Bittrex has locked both ZEN and ZCL due to the impending attacks against the ZEN network i think.

A Zero Day Exploit for transaction replay has been released

This on top of the main dev leaving this morning, the delays and the sketchy start leaving the network off SSL and the code largely unchanged from ZCL

Be warned all those of you looking to buy at this price level, a lot of people want out

I deposited 25 ZEN at Bittrex over 3 hours ago.  It is stuck at 20/30 confirmations.  There have been 75 blocks found since then so it looks like it was locked.

On the upside the amount of BTC for bids doubled during the price drop and pushed the price back up. There are interested buyers.  There is hope for young ZEN....

Do you have any links for the exploit?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZENCASH: Permanent, Distributed, and Fully Anonymous cryptocurrency on: June 08, 2017, 06:00:47 AM
Part of the answer is that the last block (114451) took over an hour to solve.

I have been noticing that as soon as the difficulty gets around 145000 or higher it gets very difficult to solve a block and it seems out of proportion to what I would expect. It also takes long time for the difficulty to adjust down.  I assume because the time between blocks is too long.   No one is going to make any money if the coin can't be mined.

Can the devs investigate this?

EDIT: the net hash rate dropped to 5.88 once the block was found. So much for conspiracy theories....

Quite a few ZEN pools are down or really slow with timeouts, and others are too tiny/new to inspire much confidence:

miningspeed.com - down

minez.zone - down, their 55 ZEN gift doesn't really compensate if it goes down too often (ddos or not); not sure how effective their ddos countermeasures are, the last downtime was substantial (7+ hours judging from the reports here)

suprnova.cc - I had timeouts on it all day, my miners kept being disconnected for long periods, web interface utterly slow or timeouts

zencash.cloud -  up, but hardly anyone is on it ...

luckpool.org - up, but hashrate at only 57 kSol/s, 13 miners, and the top miner has 53 kSol/s, so if/when that one leaves ...

cryptobroker - up, hashrate at 300 kSol/s, but only 7 miners, and top miner has 290 kSol/s, so if/when that leaves ...

zenmine.pro - up, hashrate at 185 kSol/s, 130 miners ... the most "healthy" so far (also 0% fee)

miningpool.io - up, but hashrate at only 24 kSol/s, 13 miners ...

mixpools.org - no idea, haven't tried it, there are 0 miners on it ...

zenpool.eu - up, but only 1 miner with 280 Sol/s

NOTE ON SUPRNOVA: Last time I could access the Suprnova web interface, it was showing about 80% of the entire network hashrate ... that's not a healthy network. If any of the big miners are reading this, please consider at least spreading your hashrate to other pools! I totally understand that the alternatives haven't proven very reliable until now, but still ...

EDIT: using the alternative address sup.rnova.cc, it shows the hashrate is only about 1.1M out of 5.5M, so only 20% ... this is odd and doesn't quite add up. I've looked at most pools and the sum of all other pools is less than 1M, so either there are a shitload of solo miners out there, or suprnova is reporting wrong numbers

Hey, you missed my pool! There's actually a lot of small pools out there. But the network hash rate rose so fast many switched to other coins or joined larger pools. I'm aiming all the miners I have at my own pool and hope to find a few blocks per day. Maybe if other people join it will even the rate out.

https://zpool.blockoperations.com/

I just went through the known pools listed and tallied up the hash rates.  Why do these only add up to 21% of the network hash rate? Are there other hidden pools or solo mining making up the other 79%??  Or is there a problem with the stated network hash rate?

Total speculation(conspiracy theory): could the recent denial of service attacks be perpetrated by those mining the 79% as they try to grab as much ZEN as they can?

I also just watched the hash rate on suprnova rise 100k but the network rate did not change.

You can also use:

https://zen.sup.rnova.cc

If you can't reach zen.suprnova.cc

This worked great for awhile.  Now getting 502 on the new domain through cloudflare.  Either something broke or they are hunting down your fixes to make ZEN fail Sad

EDIT:
Just got this too, maybe it will help diagnose:

Actually one of my nodes rebooted 2h ago, so that was inaccurate. All other nodes lost connection with the server around 11:46am and resumed at 12:23pm ... 37 mins of downtime. That's substantial. Could you check?

It's - still - all good here, I see multiple peaks of malicious traffic in my graphs.. all last about 10-15 mins while the attacker tries to get around the mitigation but nothing heavy which really hit the server hard... The attacker is using wordpress pingback attacks and udp floods etc.. Looks like someone is hiring a Stresser/Booter as the times those floods are going are pretty much exactly 60 minutes.. or 120 minutes.. or 180 minutes..

If you're still having trouble connecting, let me know where you're connecting from and I'll open a ticket with my provider otherwise I'd just recommend to spread hash around as a failover/failsafe method.

I am also having connectivity issues. From a browser and the API I get a lot of ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT and ETIMEDOUT 37.187.167.145:443.  However I can ping the zen.suprnova.cc server without issue.  Not sure if that is the actual server or a firewall replying to the ping. I have tried from two different locations in the US: Phoenix and New York on completely different networks.

Very frustrating.

What is the best pool for mining ZEN?  Using ZenProPool and mined ZEN has fallen by 50% day on day. Is there a problem?
There is a problem and it's called "difficulty". List of pools was posted a few pages ago.
It looks like the difficulty remained too high for awhile.  It finally dropped.

Hi,

I would like to know what happens in the following situation.

  • An Order is created for a high limit and has 6000-7000 miners assigned.
  • The Order is canceled and the account is credited the unused amount of BTC including fees.

It is my understanding that it takes time for the miners to switch to another Order.

What happens to the shares that are mined between the Order cancellation and the time the miners switch to another Order?

Is the credit applied at the time of cancellation or is the original Order credited only after all miners and shares are accounted for?

How soon are the credit amounts returned to the account? Immediately or in increments as miners switch?

A detailed response is appreciated.

Thanks!

Miners are instructed to join another order the same moment you cancel the order. All shares received after that are considered stale. Miners that do not support extranonce.subsribe need to reconnect. Because of that, all miners are reward some virtual shares according to their past speed, which is deducted from your order balance before the rest of BTC is transfered back to your account. There is no such penalty if you cancel the order that has 0 miners working on. Remaining BTC is transfered back to your account in about 5-15 seconds.

When you refer to shares in "All shares received after that are considered stale.", you are referring to shares reported to nicehash which a buyer would have to pay for if not stale. Correct? What about pool shares found by the miner while the cancel and join process is taking place (user or api sends cancel, nicehash determines which miners, nicehash sends cancel notice to miners, miners process change - maybe a couple seconds on thousands of miners?)? I assume there are some pool shares that are still valid that don't get reported or are marked as stale by nicehash.  Can this be a significant number of shares?  I am trying to figure out why this and similar patterns are occurring. There must be some benefit to those buyers or they would not be placing orders in that manner if, as you describe, they are paying for virtual shares based on past speed.  Any insight is helpful!
