Does anyone know how to put their email address on the mailing list for batch 2 pre-orders?

Kudos @jstefanop for the great work here from Australia.  Got mine in good order, 32gb SD card flashed, plugged in and mining away in ECO mode with no hassles at all.  Good on yer mate  Smiley

Following on from my earlier post, for anyone compiling ROIcoin in ubuntu from scratch and using command-line only, here's the process I followed.  There may be better miners out there but this works nicely.  Some of this is from https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install checkinstall subversion git git-core
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev libminiupnpc-dev
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev
sudo apt-get install build-essential libboost-all-dev automake libtool autoconf
sudo apt-get install pkg-config
git clone https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin ROIcoin
cd ROIcoin
sudo su
./autogen.sh && ./configure --with-gui=no
make
make install

The to run it

Code:
ROIcoind -rpcuser=rpc -rpcpassword=1234 -rpcport=3377 -daemon=1 -server=1 -listen=0 -miningaddress=RYR39RF8x65s1U45kKEnh7U16ymJHnYkao -gen

As I mentioned before, listen=0 allows my machine to generate without crashing out because of something I haven't been bothered looking into yet and replace the miningaddress with your own wallet receiving address, assuming you've installed a QT version of the wallet on Windoze or some other OS.

Can anyone give a command line startup for minerd (optiminer) to mine ROIcoin under linux?

I can git clone, build, make etc no problems but am not sure what the command is to mine ROIcoin with optiminer.

Also, what's the command line to mine with the compiled wallet in linux? I can get ROIcoind compiled and runs ok but only looks like it reads blocks etc if I include the options in the command line (looks like it's not reading from ROIcoin.conf (which is located in ~/.ROIcoin/ and is readable from the 'current user' (i.e. who I'm logged in as on my linux machine))).

EDIT: I've read the posts showing how to mine with a pool.  Obviously cannot use minerd (sorry) as the compiled binary is hodlminer (facepalm).  However am trying solo mining (not pool mining) so I'll need to experiment with starting the ROIcoin wallet via CLI first and see if it's as simple as -o http://127.0.0.1:3377... oh and the command in ubuntu (linux whatever) for ROIcond to mine is:

Code:
ROIcoind -rpcuser=rpc -rpcpassword=1234 -rpcport=3377 -daemon=1 -server=1 -listen=0 -miningaddress=RYR39RF8x65s1U45kKEnh7U16ymJHnYkao* -gen

*replace the -miningaddress=[etc] with your own receive address from your wallet or you'll be mining for me...which is ok but probably not what you want.

I use -listen=0 because if I don't then the daemon stops and the debug file tells me it cannot listed at 0.0.0.0:3377.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ħ [HODL] 5% Interest. No Staking Req. Term Deposits 10%. Solo Mining. on: September 22, 2017, 01:25:55 AM
Hi, noob question apologies.

If I want to set up a dedicated node on my Linux server (headless).  Is it as simple as setting up a wallet on the server and finding the commands to run the wallet as a daemon or are there some instructions I can follow to get it up an running?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ħ [HODL] 5% Interest. No Staking Req. Term Deposits 10%. Solo Mining. on: August 17, 2017, 11:16:13 PM
There are 'special' specialist specialists who will perform special services for payment on coins in exchanges.  Pumping is definitely not included, that would be wrong.  Probably not legal either.  Definitely not pumping.  Nope. Nup.

LOL! I actually meant how do we get people to be genuinely interested enough in this coin that more people want to buy it. Because pumping is bad. And wrong. And probably illegal.

Sorry to say, but as a C++ programmer and an English major, one has to make instructions very clear.  I know it's a buzz to say the minimum and have to figure it out.  It's kind of a macho thing, like a James Bond movie.  But I don't think that's going to help the price.  I'm not blaming this coin/dev,it's just the general culture.

I also tried to send coins to the wallet, they didn't go through and came back, and I mentioned it in the thread and it was ignored.   If the dev is too busy, then the team of hodlers should pick up for their own profit.

I agree entirely.  I was the person who volunteered and produced the original HODL website for that reason, it's 'evolved' since the original publication (I haven't been involved for a long time) which is ok, good and proper, but the team and community should pick up where their skills allow.  So far this coin seems to have been a concept in two parts: 1. Adding interest to term deposits in order to engender the longevity of the coin and 2: Introducing a voting system based on those who hold the most coins having the greatest say.  These experiments look like they have worked, but without any real-world or value-added services, experimentation and proving concepts will be all that this coin does.

We are getting a little buy support over on the exchange.  How now (brown cow) can we make this thing take off for the moon?!?

"Make sure you run a node with the bug fix"

So how the fck do we do that?

Waste of my frikkin time and other resources mining this when there's buggy code that can magically make sht happen that is explained by someone waving their hands around vaguely and saying "oh yeah, well, that can happen, yeah from time to time".  Get off the ganja and do some serious testing, release a professional product and maybe it will get taken seriously.  Technical chops ain't enough to get a community backing a coin.  Good code and rapid and professional support are a good start.

Geez, does anyone not learn in this game???

Dafuq?? I mined over a thousand HOdl last night before sleep.  They were immature. Now this morrning the new balance is 300 and I'm still mining, finding blocks but they are not maturing and disappearing from the list of blocks on the wallet.

WTH is going on? Is someone playing silly buggers with this and if so then what a stuupid thing to do.  Good way to de-value the coin (again) guys!!

Soooo...I'm guessing that coins caught in a transfer from a wallet that is syncing ok to Coinexchange wallet (which is offline ATM) will come good when they sync up ok?

Speaking about letting go, I would be willing to let go future 140k HODL wallet for a decent price.

When future?

May have been said before but it looks like they tried to set up a website with the same code, same references to javascript variable, same references to CSS headers - exactly the same code from the same people even though they claim they aren't the same.  This is cloudscrypt(dot)info They even 'advertise' they are 'protected' through cloudflare from DDOS attacks but are frequently showing 'DDOS ATTACK' on their site.

They also do the same things Scrypt(dot)cc do (queuing withdraws and never processing, auto-reinvesting without permission).

Avoid like the plague.

Is the wallet supposed to stake and reward with coins? Mine's been showing "Expected time to earn reward is 2 hours" for about the last 5 hours...[edit] whoops, please ignore, all good.
