Well while many are so damn negative and only see greed, I chose to see and call it opportunity...This is all quite very new and while many "bad" projects and people could be inundating the market, there ALSO are many quality ones (projects and people).
I remember when media was bad mouthing bitcoin when silkroad went down and how crypto world was viewed as seedy, greedy and criminal. But the label didn't fit them all, just like the greedy label doesn't fit all ICO's.
It's not wrong to want to make money. Sure, it's very wrong and disgraceful to want to make money by lying and cheating people but none of these low schemes would have ANY chance if people would take some due diligence and never throw money they aren't comfortable losing.
Us as consumers need to understand the risks and us the consumers should dictate what makes it or not with intelligent and assumed choices.

so i am installing RFID tech for my hotel rooms. guest will unlock there rooms with there key card. I see WaltonChain seems to be currently focusing on Retail...what about blockchain RFID for Hotels? Good idea. Probably too expensive right now, but maybe in the future, maybe you can contact them on slack. Looking at how many hundreds and thousands of ICO's are launching these days, it's probably already in development mode somewhere in the world. If not, you just gave someone a new idea.

Government, Boss', Wife's or whoever you want to hide funds from!
This made me think how big of a media coverage will get the first high profile divorce where one of the parts is hiding/trying to hide assets in crypto. Will be quite the show...

I sold everything I had in the anticipation of August 1st. I'm still thinking if I should get in before, especially with the news that Segwit is signaled by the majority. I really just don't know what to do but I'd rather wait and if I'm going to lose money by sitting on the fence, I'll just cross it off as "insurance" and move on. Hope I'll be this optimistic later

If you mean gold standard as a value storage, I also see bitcoin as winning it the long term. It just has too much media coverage and popularity outside crypto world to be dethroned any time soon...unless something considerably damaging would happen (even then, I think it can bounce back with time and still keep a leading role).
Maybe we won't buy coffees with BTC, but I'm still using BTC on a weekly basis. There still is a huge usability when buying and selling goods and services that aren't minute-time-sensitive.
We shall live and see.

Is IOTA in plans to be added on other exchanges? I looked around but didn't find anything.

Yeah, I'm definitely expecting troubles the closer we get to August 1st. I would think that July 1st will be a psychological countdown for many and things will get very blurry for both companies and individuals.
I really am not sure what to do but sit back and watch, which has been my strategy for a while. We shall see.

I've read people talking about it being a scam ?! What happened ?
The ICO is still on, although not gained enough for their hard cap (the soft cap is far as well, but they still have time left until the end of the ICO)...problem is, I guess, that they have no answer from VISA which makes things unclear. That and the aggressive marketing might put people off. I for one thought it's an amazing idea, the real value being the best exchange rate that they would have. But without clear collaboration from VISA. I won't be jumping on board just yet. Sorry for the little offtopic...

Here in Cyprus is very nice. You can become a citizen with only buying a villa of 350k Euros. I will become a citizen as I am married to a Greek Lady but if you have your own home here it's a small paradise. I hope one day I will also make enough to provide a home for my Wife. Good luck and congratulations. And thinking that the Cypriot banks have helped btc going mainstream, it would get the circle complete

So if BTC goes to $10k, $100k or even $1mil it's to be expected that the fees will go way up? To me it feel ok for now to pay the fees we have now but as more new money's pouring in and as we get more transactions, where will that leave the fees, does anyone have an idea?
If it goes to $1 mil probably we will see $1000 fees and then your average person who wants to invest 100-1000$ will say no way in hell and only the ultra rich will be able to participate. That ain't good...so long for decentralized

That's a lot of 0's and it's only going up it looks like.
But for BTC I'm worried what will come with August 1st and beyond...

The learning curve on this technology if you didnt start at the beginning like a lot of the people with big holdings, basically running the game, then you're kind of stuck behind learning and trying to figure out wtf all this is.
I hear you! There so much (new) stuff going on even in the last few months...Big learning curve and I'm wondering how are the owners of all these fresh money handling this.

For me it's an experiment that slowly got very real once it hit 2k. Up until then it was fun to think I have some btc and didn't really think of it much but once it got over the 2k milestone it became a "thing". A more serious "thing"
