242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OC] Orangecoin ★★ POS ★★ Anon Transactions ★★ Masternodes on: June 09, 2014, 04:31:47 AM
Hi Devs,

Would it be possible to make a post on 3 different possible Masternodes specifications and then we make a vote  ?

Is this already in plan ?

I'd like to add my input on the numbers but I don't how much the devs are aiming for, for the masternodes payout. I'd assume they'd want 2% of the coin cap from their model. I'd go as far as 10-20% with a larger amount of OC required per Mnode, like 10k, but only if they choose options B or C of my scenarios. I haven't checked these numbers, Idk if they would work.

The fees/prices associated with the free year at amazon hosting AFTER the free year becomes like another electric bill. There are so many options to choose from, and have no idea how much data 1 Mnode would use. Need to know what data package we'd need (per operating system) to buy or if we could just re-sign up with a new account and get another free year. Is it contracted 1 free year for like a 5 year contract? Who's got experience with this who can answer?

It is the "t1.micro" which is free for the first year and then $60 for a 1 year term or $100 for a 3 year term

Perfect, thanks. Smiley
Does that manage only one node or multiple?

That well only manage 1 node but I'm still looking in to maximizing amazon's "Free" offer.

What I mean is it says

-750 hours of EC2 running Linux/Unix Micro instance usage
-750 hours of EC2 running Microsoft Windows Server Micro instance usage

So I want to see if we can get you guys a linux and a windows for free? Because if so then we will be able to have 2 for free, i can do this with code but not sure if Amazon means only 1 free either Linux OR Windows

I believe they mean a single instance, regardless of operating system. I haven't tested this but I have used EC2 a bit.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAST][X11] MastiffCoin | MANDATORY UPDATE! [EXCHANGES] on: June 08, 2014, 04:44:20 PM
If anyone else wants to sell mastiff at 2k sat again send me a message I will buy it all.

It's a shame. If they had them tucked in their wallets they would have been getting frequent stakes and there would have been a panic-sell buffer.

If you can't control your trading compulsions, either don't trade, or give yourself a buffer.

Edit: Spelling

Thanks Vegasminer for your advice yesterday. My wallet is now staking again.

Hey, good to hear you got it working again!
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAST][X11] MastiffCoin | MANDATORY UPDATE! [EXCHANGES] on: June 07, 2014, 09:24:38 PM
Hi, I have a problem of the wallet not staking properly -
Last version mined me Mast 3 seperate times early on then seemed to stop , but coins were stuck staking and not spendable.
Downloaded latest version 1.0.1.0 and coins spendable again , unlocking wallet gives message that its staking when hovering over green arrow (weight network weight etc time to reward 3 mins) .But never rewards for days , Is synced , tried closing for day and re sync blockchain but still nothing .
What's my next move ?
Thanks in advance for any help .
It sounds like you have done this but just checking...
Assuming you have a copy of your wallet.dat file, you could delete everything in the Matiff directory with the exception of the wallet. Let it sync, mine will only get to the end of POW then I have to restart the wallet and it will finish syncing. After that, unlock your wallet for a long duration maybe 999999. If this does not work, send your coins to an exchange. Then delete the whole Mastiff folder including your wallet.dat file. Relaunch the latest wallet and let it sync, send coins to new address. This is all assuming you are running Windows. Anything else this may not apply.

Make sure before you delete your wallet.dat file that you don't expect to be using any of those addresses anymore. When you delete that file you will no longer have access to any of your old addresses.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAST][X11] MastiffCoin | MANDATORY UPDATE! [EXCHANGES] on: June 07, 2014, 07:36:52 PM
I think he meant that there is no "long term" in crypto because the majority of new coins will fail or become irrelevant in a very short time period. A few coins will survive long-term though, and as they grow, will appreciate substantially in value. That's our goal.

Yes,but you need to do on track on what news.

MAST have a unique feature, thats true, but it still a copy coin in fact, like 99% of coin.

WHat coin are not copy? DRK,BTC,LTC... Coinrecycler is a very good thing and like I said,it can open new door if you have a good programmer inside team.

Also,How many you are in team? Whats your experience in programming ?  I ask that because I have work long time in SQL and basic(a bit c++ too) so Im curious

You'll need a bit more transparency in team too to attract more serious investisor(whale if you prefer) and a website would be a nice thing too

thanks !

Okay now i see what you meant. But consider this:

Ebay, amazon, google, and hotmail were all copy websites. They all operate in fundamentally the same way, they use HTML, they use databases, and they provide services.

Wouldn't you have liked to own a few shares of those companies back when they first got started?

I agree that we won't know immediately which coins are actually going to stick around, but specifications, activity, development, and interest can help shape this view.

247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAST][X11] MastiffCoin | MANDATORY UPDATE! [EXCHANGES] on: June 07, 2014, 06:14:45 PM
Rebranding is an option, but not a good one, considering there has never been a successful rebrand of a coin thus far. There are a lot of coins with a lot of much worse names, and we don't anticipate it being an issue long-term. In fact we think the name/theme will be an asset when a Chinese exchange adds us Smiley Keep voting at Mintpal and Cryptsy, and we'll keep working on getting Bter and BTC38 to add us.

Its a seriously good thing to see you are open to rebrand name if it needed !

We will see where it goes, but actually the first problem I can see when I talk to people about mast is the name !

And don't forget there's no long term in cryptoworld

You're wrong. Crypto is here to stay.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAST][X11] MastiffCoin | WALLET UPDATE 6PM EST TODAY [EXCHANGES] on: June 02, 2014, 11:04:29 PM
Hi everyone - the wallet source code is live on Github and we're working on updating the seed nodes currently. If you've already pulled the wallet code, make sure you repull when you see this as we just caught a last minute bug when we pushed the new version live on the seed nodes. We'll be releasing updated compiled wallets in the next hour.

Bittrex will have their Mastiff wallet disabled during the update period.

It's pretty minor, but the readme on github still has the old confirmation count.

Looking forward to compiled wallets!

Why is nothing happening.
Btw. how long it take to send MAST?
I did it like 1h ago, and still not even "pending deposits" on bittrex.
Should i start worry?

it randomly takes a long ass time, don't worry

Whatever you do, don't close your wallet if you have a transaction that hasn't been broadcast to the network yet. I did this, and then got a "conflicted" transaction. Now I can't access any of the coins that never got broadcast. They're out there in the ether somewhere, and now i'm getting wallet errors.

However, the wallet update should fix my issues so i'm not too concerned just yet.

Shit coin
Be careful it could be the Liberty scam coin devs here

Take your efforts elsewhere, you're wrong.

Nice posting history though, pretty clear your motives.

Just transferred some MAST into my wallet Smiley How long does it take for that transaction to mature so I can start staking?

Developers are working on an update to reduce this period of time. The current code is 12 hours, they have it reduced to 6 hours in their current fork. The fork hasn't been merged yet, so I suspect they are actively testing.

Code:
 unsigned int nTargetSpacing = 1 * 30; // 30 seconds
 -unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 12 * 60 * 60; // 12 hours
 -unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = -1;           //unlimited
 +unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 6 * 60 * 60; // 6 hours
 +unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = -1;           // unlimited

@Mastiffcoin Thanks for getting to those changes I PM'ed you guys so fast. You're really showing what a good dev team you have.

The last PoW blocks will be mature at block 26200, so ~300 blocks to go. Yes, we'll be updating the number of confirmations required for PoS blocks in a future update.

Could you please address my question? For some reason I have a transaction as "conflicted" and it's not showing up at the destination or in my wallet.

Thank!

Weird. I had to re-sync my wallet, and I sent some coins after they were spendable in my wallet. Now the send transaction says "conflicted" and the coins didn't reach the destination.

How can I fix this?

Here is a repost of a frigate concept for those of you that didn't get to see this sketch:

And so, the EASF (Earth Alliance Space Frigate) Liberty progressed through the uncharted reaches of the Asteroid belt, hunting for a very rare resource; Verenium. Found on the surface of lone asteriods, scarce, and perhaps the most solid and reliable of all material, not only did Verenium fetch a considerable price in the Galactic Markets but is used to plate the hulls of the famed capital-class cruisers, which were deemed unbeatable... for now...

Very cool. How long it take you to whip that up?

Around an hour Cheesy

Awesome, keep up the good work man! My wife says the rock on the bottom left looks kinda like a seal, i tend to agree Wink (focus on that one dark spot towards the upper right of the rock)

Here's the reply I posted in the ipoMiner thread:

One of the ipoMiner support staff that helps us with covering Bitcointalk also works with MastiffCoin, handling their bitcointalk promotion work.

If you look into the blockchain and ipoMiner's own block records, you'll clearly see that ipoMiner did not mine the coin until well after 2 hours past launch. (We typically try to avoid mining coins at launch because many launches fail, forks happen more frequently in the first hour of a coin, etc.)

I really don't see any problem with this. And think about who is buying your dump coins when you sell on information like this.

I honestly don't see a problem with it either.  Whether IpoMiner dev knows Mastiff dev or not, it's their discretion to choose to mine the coin and I actually feel more comfortable that he actually knows Mastiff dev and didn't take a blind shot in the dark on this person's programming skills.  IpoMiner has their own reputation to uphold and would have pulled out if they saw errors with this coin, regardless of whether they knew the person.

If they wanted to scam, they would have mined from block 1, but they didn't. At the point they started mining it, the value wasn't really there. So IPO either fronted the BTC to pay the miners (stupid), or they have already been distributed on exchanges...

I see no problems.
