1  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: November 11, 2019, 06:14:28 AM

With so many controversies arising from this tech giant's ambitious actions, we never truly asked the most important question.

Would the people actually use Libra should it be approved by the congress?
They already have a userbase so that is maybe why we do not ask this question anymore.

The first users will be those who are streamers, advertisers and those who have businesses in facebook. Other users will be affected for example if you want to donate for your favorite streamer, facebook will force you to use their coins. Even if just a small portion of their users use Libra, it still is a large amount.

The real problem for them is if they can get past congress. So far, it is dim.

They have over 2b registered users. It kinda worries me a little should they get a green light from the congress... to be absolutely honest with ya.

If I were you, I would set up an Iranian exchange. That would be much profitable I guess?

Great! I think improvements can be made though regarding news filtering. There's just quite a bit of the same news article on different platforms.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more ATM's increase adoption for Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2019, 05:59:15 AM

I think having properly working Bitcoin ATMs is more important than having lots of BTC ATMs in the city. From my experience, almost all of those ATMs were either (i) out of cash for withdrawals (ii) charges ridiculous fees (iii) spoiled with no staff around to help or phone number to call

5  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 11, 2019, 05:16:45 AM

They are just targeting newbies who aren't too familiar with mining rigs & their prices. They are probably waiting for that 1 sale desperately haha
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cant send coins. worried if I upgrade I'll lose my wallet. on: November 11, 2019, 05:07:30 AM

Grab the private key, use the private key and access you wallet from elsewhere with the most up-to-date wallet. I am pretty sure your tx was propagated properly though. It just requires some time to get it confirmed. If it is stuck for days, you might want to rebroadcast it using a tx accelerator.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOREX - In Trade We Trust on: November 11, 2019, 04:45:24 AM

What is the use case for this coin? Why not just make it a platform which doesn't use native token or coins like cryptohoppers?
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: November 11, 2019, 04:32:27 AM

We don't really tend to use cash that much these days anyways.. and for large transactions we don't currently have an option but to go through the banks (at least with people who are not familiar with bitcoin). Won't change much and tackle much of the core problems I think?
