1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox vs mysterious Russia on: June 27, 2011, 05:00:44 AM
Since the end of the Cold War and the beginning of "globalization" the Chinese are the new Russians!
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is anyone buying bitcoins at MtGox right now? on: June 27, 2011, 04:58:21 AM
I have completed a few successfull trades, but had to cancel a few order to make it happen. It seems the que they implemented is still not working the way it should...
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why we should support TradeHill (and others), it will make the world better on: June 27, 2011, 04:56:13 AM
Well, I wish Wall Street were behind TradeHill. Nothing cures a market better than liquidity  Grin
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ridiculous fees at MtGox - anybody else has this problem? on: June 27, 2011, 04:52:33 AM
the only issue I noticed was an order they entered TWICE. however, one of them was marked "not enough funds" so no damage done.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WOOT! MtGox Trading is ON :) on: June 27, 2011, 04:50:46 AM
There are still some issues (an order I placed was listed twice) but MtGox is definentely back.
BTC seems to be in a rally again  Smiley
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 0 commission trading? on: June 27, 2011, 04:48:52 AM
This is a good idea, but it should be offered as an option.
The big speculators would take it and be happy. The miners looking to sell a few coins a month would stick with the percentage.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Without Technical Investment Strategies, one must use Fundamental, correct? on: June 27, 2011, 04:44:33 AM
We're not yet there with regard to anonimity, but you both made good points  Smiley
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reporting Mt. Gox to the Japan Financial Services Agency on: June 27, 2011, 04:42:27 AM
sturle, I may be wrong on this one, but I guess that when you're incorporated in a jurisdiction you have to follow the legislation of that jurisdiction, regardless of where your servers and bank accounts are located. Also, if you happen to be a citizen of the US of A, you have to follow the American law regardless what you do and where you do it  Grin

Case in point: e-gold. the guy was an American citizen, and the feds nailed him for money laundering although his company and servers were somewhere else...

BtcNmcMiner, I still feel gullible enough to send you one Bitcoin in exchange for a post  Grin
Once you get out of the newbie jail, please write a post in the section of your choice on how gbvault is doing with respect to bitcoins.
I think we need to read more success stories and less scary posts on how BTC will crash etc.

I apologize in advance for getting you hooked on this poison  Grin

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend got 60 extra BTC from his Mt Gox account and insists it is not theft. on: June 27, 2011, 04:25:14 AM
There is such a thing as "found money". In the US, if you report it to the Police an nobody claims it during a certain period of time, it's yours.
Now, I wonder what would happen if a "found" amount of Bitcoins would be reported. How could someone make a legitimate claim to it?
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional-reserve banking in Bitcoins - nothing prevents it! on: June 26, 2011, 06:44:53 AM
Two different people consider this trolling. Sorry, good enough for me!
I apologize, and I am out of this subject  Grin
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional-reserve banking in Bitcoins - nothing prevents it! on: June 26, 2011, 06:40:04 AM

14  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional-reserve banking in Bitcoins - nothing prevents it! on: June 26, 2011, 06:37:59 AM
So we would all need to accept "their books" as legal tender  Grin
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional-reserve banking in Bitcoins - nothing prevents it! on: June 26, 2011, 06:34:35 AM
So, vinnie, how would this work in an anonymous setting, and without "men with guns"?
Just trolling...
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there such a thing as absolute value? on: June 26, 2011, 06:31:34 AM
hm... yeah.  Grin so it's all relative?  Grin
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional-reserve banking in Bitcoins - nothing prevents it! on: June 26, 2011, 06:30:21 AM
Adam, thank you for your opinion on my IQ!
Retarded as I am, please explain how the bank (which one?) can "deposit" BTC100 in the block chain if said bank does not own BTC 100 to clear the transaction.

Thank you in advance for your explanation!

It's a free Bitcoin,  I expect no payment in return.
This is what I think of PayPal  Grin as a payment method for BTC  Grin
