1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Marcchernandez scammed me for $500.00 on: April 27, 2015, 08:14:09 PM
I also got scammed by this guy on Local Bitcoins:
https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Fastbtctrader/

He deposited a check for $200 to buy Bitcoins with to my Citibank account.  I didn't realize it, but Citibank doesn't have any way to distinguish between cash and check deposits for its on-line banking.  I assumed he had deposited cash.

I asked Citibank about this--they said they are changing their policy as of May 1st, and you will no longer get same day credit for checks that are deposited.

He wrote a check from his Bank of America account which was closed.

Janelleivy M Tugade is also listed on the check.  Has anyone talked with her?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][ZOOZ] La’Zooz: Decentralized Collaborative Transportation Web on: February 03, 2015, 06:22:09 AM
Can anyone explain why the minimum amount to buy in the presale translates to requiring a $2500 minimum investment?  Please allow for distributing these tokens and investments among people who don't have this much to invest!
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: How to Import Private Keys into Smartphone Digital Wallet (Bitcoin Wallet app)? on: September 12, 2014, 08:08:43 PM
I had the same problem, and was able to import the file from my phone that was saved by the android app into MultiBit.

I had to rename the file to end in .key in order for Multibit to allow the import, but once I did that, it accepted the encryption password
and allowed me to manage my wallet from Multibit on my windows 8 machine.

8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Webshop that uses only bitcoins ? on: April 24, 2011, 01:00:16 AM
I'd suggest you use Drupal and Ubercart.  There is an Ubercart Module for Bitcoin only transactions:

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox order discrepancy? A trade at $1.60 when $1.63 is already on the book on: April 24, 2011, 12:58:32 AM
I think these are dark pool orders happening.  Dark pools don't appear on taters.net as I understand them.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: your faith in bitcoin on: April 03, 2011, 01:04:20 PM
There is a paradox here.  In order for your investments in bitcoin to become worth something, it is important to spend some of them.  Currencies function and take on value because they are utilized by a community to exchange value.  If we all just hoard them waiting for them to take on value, we'll be waiting a long, long time.  I encourage everyone who wants bitcoins to take on value to set aside a good amount of your holdings for spending of some sort or another, whether it be donations, gaming, or good old exchange of goods and services.  Gavin is doing a brilliant thing for the community of bitcoin users by offering the bitcoin faucet, and ensuring that the faucet's disbursements go out to as many DIFFERENT people as possible.    This is why I've set up Bitcoin Bonus, I want to be able to get bitcoins out to as many people as possible.

12  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BTC/ZAR Exchange? (Bitcoin/South African Rand) on: March 29, 2011, 06:18:13 PM
When you find someone please have them add their data at http://bitcoincambio.com.  This site is a comprehensive list of everyone who is in general willing to buy or sell bitcoins for various currencies.  Its specifically meant for arranging in person transactions.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to grow the Bitcoin idea? on: March 04, 2011, 12:02:27 PM
Yes, I think everyone is on the right track here by asking organizations we love and respect to accept witcoins.  I just sent a message to the ACLU asking them
if they had an address:
Hi,
I would like to make a donation to ACLU for all of the great things that it does to protect our liberties.  I use Bitcoin to send money over the internet but I don't see a Bitcoin address to use on your "Make Additional Gift" page.  Do you have a Bitcoin address I could use?

Thanks,
   --Darrell

If others continue to ask they'll take notice and put an address up, and then others who also want to support the ACLU or whichever organization it is will see this and want to learn more about Bitcoins.

I'm interested in doing something like this, I'll use Drupal to do it, I'd be interested to hear Bounty Requirements specified out.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banned words when explaining Bitcoin to the mainstream on: February 23, 2011, 02:21:50 PM
Being from Washington, DC I've learned that its often not so PC to mention "The Fed" when I talk about Bitcoin.
I just tell people I want to compete with PayPal instead.    There are some terms for you to consider adding to your poll.

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Job(s) - Create a spreadsheet of all Bitcoin exchangers, other exchanger jobs. on: February 23, 2011, 02:01:32 PM
Thanks, I've fixed this problem, had some server issues.

I'm adding more features to this, I hope to announce and publicize it widely by Thursday or Friday of this week.

I believe that for Bitcoin to reach more mainstream use, people need to feel like it is easy for them to exchange bitcoins and cash  easily. This site
aims to provide a fast and easy way to find nearby people who are interested in doing these exchanges.   It will have search by postal code and location.

Anyone can put a listing up, and they can hide the listing for some time if they will be unavailable.

19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Job(s) - Create a spreadsheet of all Bitcoin exchangers, other exchanger jobs. on: February 19, 2011, 05:51:30 PM
Great idea.  I've set one up at http://bitcoincambio.com

Free signups for anyone who is interested in exchange bitcoins for other currencies (donations appreciated).

Its under some construction but we'll have some good information up here soon.
20  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: RPC Miners (CPU/4way/CUDA/OpenCL) on: February 19, 2011, 07:09:19 AM

Hi Puddinpop

Thanks so much for you brilliant work.

I'm getting the message:
The procedure entry point cuMemFree_v2 could not be located in the dynamic link library nvcuda.dll

I'm running on a windows 7 professional laptop (HP) which has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M in it.

I downloaded the latest driver from NVIDIA  258.96 and double checked that I didn't need to have a driver update from NVIDIA's website.

I'm running rpcminer-cuda.exe -url http://mining.bitcoin.cz:8332 -user=hidden -password=hidden -gpu

Thanks for any insight you might have
