41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://btcrow.com/ legit or scam? on: October 08, 2011, 08:14:58 PM
Hi, I'm the owner of BTCrow.com.

I cannot really say it's legit since I run it... but here's some review here: http://www.bitcoinsreview.com/2011/07/21/btcrow-com/

Most people who used it was happy with the service I was offering to help and resolve their dispute, and I'm very proud of it.

In this thread I see that a lot of new comer to my service think the instructions are not clear, could you provide me more feedback regarding this. I would love to make it more clear for all people.

If you have any other suggestions or comment regarding my escrow service, just let me know here or in the official thread.

Thanks

Jules

Bitcoin needs a serious escrow system, amateur escrows services are spring up everywhere, is not an innovation.

Did you qualify my service as serious escrow ?
43  Economy / Goods / Re: BTC for Food on: September 25, 2011, 01:23:25 PM
I hear it started because some kid choked and died. Who eats the egg whole, I mean seriously?

I've never heard of any kid actually dying like that. I've heard of watchgroups THEORIZING that a kid could die, but I haven't actually seen any stories that I remember.

I agree it is a stupid law that violates personal freedom, but wiki cites 7 deaths worldwide from kinder egg choking :

Quote
Since 1991, at least 7 children worldwide have died of choking after swallowing the toy inside the Kinder egg.[7]

http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Mother+calls+for+ban+after+girl+chokes+on+Kinder+egg.-a060703736

If this is true the parents have 100% of the responsibility into this. First there's indication on the paper who said the age child can get it or not which is still a good indicator if your child will be able to understand if this is a toy or not. Second if you didn't watch your child when eating the egg... then In my opinion you won't be the father / mother of the day.

The toy inside are very small of course and can lead to choking. So people must use their brain when involve kids...

Btw, I'm from Canada / Québec as most people now should know, so if you want eggs in the case bitmunchies couldn't bring them on their site, I can send unlimited number of eggs.

46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] The World's First Bitcoin Luxury Wrist Watch! on: September 04, 2011, 01:58:30 PM

Nice custom strap...price is way too high for a 7750.  If you want to spend 1/2 that, try www.ball.com and find truly luminous watches. I think $650 tops for the watch and $100 bucks for the strap is upper reasonable.

Is it just me, or does this link have nothing to do with watches?

'''
Ball Corporation is a provider of metal packaging for beverages, foods and household products, and of aerospace and other technologies and services to commercial and governmental customers. Founded in 1880, the company employs more than 14,500 people in more than 90 locations worldwide. Ball Corporation stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BLL.
"""

I was under the same impression...

I'm really sorry I never replied to you. I have to manually moderate all of the submissions to the site, basically to make sure no one is posting stupid reviews. On top of this I'm the only one who works on the site so it can sometimes take a little while to moderate everything.

Hi thanks for the answer, I really apreciate it.

May I suggest something ?

Is admin of each sites could be able to reply to comment left by users? I think it should be a nice implementation.

Hi,
Just noticed a new comment on our review page here: http://www.bitcoinsreview.com/2011/07/21/btcrow-com/

Quote
The website doesn’t work over TOR. It freezes when I click Create Escrow for the second time.
If I could direct customers to it through TOR, I could tell them that their privacy is intact. To use the service now I’d have to tell the customers to turn off TOR and reveal their IP addresses to the owner of BTCrow.com.

In fact the website work with tor and also have ssl enabled for security. https://btcrow.com

Tested over Tor without problem.

If you read this thread:
We had problem with electricity here at Quebec because of Irene hurricane, that's probably why it freeze, we had 42 hours power outage.

We have UPS for power outage along with other internet connection but the 42 hours is overpassing the time my UPS can backup.
The situation is now ok and as soon as I get free time I'm gonna buy generator just to prevent this again.

I completely understand your concern about this issue. I was aware that some new or recurring customers will be mad because of this issue but there was nothing I could do except providing updates via facebook and twitter:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/BTCrow/118049574953361
https://twitter.com/#!/btcrow

If any people have questions or want to suggest things, I'll be more than happy to answer them here or by email at info[AT]btcrow.com

Thanks
Jules
57  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: August 30, 2011, 09:20:05 PM
I put up an ad for SealsWithClubs.org last night, very smooth. I even made a mistake and fixing it was easy. I am surprised how fast my impressions are being used up 15k in about 8 hours. I guess this is because people hit the site over and over looking for the jackpot? I have gotten some clicks though.

Hi FreeMoney, what's the CTR you get?
or if you prefer how much click you get for how many impressions ?

If you have Unique it will also help.

Cause for the moment on unique you need to have at least 8% CTR in order to beat the CPC basis.

Let me know

Thanks
58  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: NVidia GeForce GT 220 1GB DDR3 Low Profile Video Card on: August 30, 2011, 05:58:42 PM
Hi, Just to let you know that all our services are now up and running. After 42 hours, now everything should be ok.

This is our second power outage in one month. The first came from our Server Hosting in the US from Crucial Paradigm and the second caused by Irene hurricane.

The first power outage was resolved and we took action by buying other dedicated in order to switch IPs if something happen again.

Now Irene, When all will be fine here, (that's kinda hell rebooting everything and checking damage caused by Irene) I'm gonna buy a generator only to be able to provide a constant support whatever happen.

You'll be able to make any transaction in our system now.

If you have any concerns or questions feel free to ask by email at info@btcrow.com or at the forum here or in the official BTCrow thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=21544.0

Thanks again and again for your patience and and your good understanding.

Jules

Hi Im jules the owner of BTCrow.com

Just wanted to drop an update on what is happening.

We're still on the dark here so no electricity.

Hydroquebec replaced human by electronic phone system.

So im able to see updates in real time. I just called at 6am and the automated system told me that the electricity should come back at 6pm.

I have  ups to prevent up to 4 hours power failure but now its been more than 35 hours we're in the dark.

Im charging my cellphone in my car to be able to provide this information, thats why it take time.

Ill update here once all will be ok. So everyone in this transaction will be able to resume their trade.

Thanks for you patience regarding this issue and we really appologize for this.

60  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 200 BTC @ 12 US each. on: August 26, 2011, 12:39:19 PM
Jack of Diamonds suggested in pm to start escrowing the 2 payment in transaction which involve currency exchange. If you want I'd be willing to escrow both payment (once you found someone willing to buy) for WU or MoneyGram and for bitcoins.

I'll do that as experimental to see how it goes in order to implement it directly in my escrow service.

If you are interested let me know.
