2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why no simple service for HODLing Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2022, 04:42:02 PM
I like the idea or the concept to be honest. It works like a bank right? But, this once has a lock-in period only to force someone to hold for many more years. We know that hodling for a long time is one of the problems of the users because they lack of patience and they got easily tempted to sell when they see the market is doing good but I am only not sure if many people will trust such service.

Why will they entrust their coins to someone else especially on a new project that doesn't have enough reputation? why there is no service for hodling? I think that is because holding a coin is too simple, it does not need any advanced knowledge or complex tools but you just need a wallet.

Finally one person that got what I meant. Trust is not an issue, because it is smart contract, no one is owning it and at the same time anyone can check it. Just check the code, audit the smart contract. It is open source.

Bitcoin is designed to be owned by us and make us our own bank without any third party interference. If you use the holding service, it is no different than you depositing your money in the bank. In addition to sending bitcoin to holding services will make it impossible for you to sell or use your bitcoin while your bitcoin deposit period has not ended, better hold your bitcoin and you can use them whenever you want.

Then why so many people use hot wallets and exchanges for holding their bitcoin? Only sophisticated holders use cold wallets and be their own bank. Most of the people just don’t care

But for ordinary Bob, using timelock Nlock is complicated. Also most of the people can not just HODL bitcoin, because we see it every time BTC go down, lots of paper hands just sell it and dump the price. But imagine smart contract, which is open source and every one can check it. No need to trust anyone, you just audit the contract. And if it works, than it works. Just couple clicks and you are done. Your BTC is safely HODLed for years. And you don’t need to put your all savings, just do some little. Coz every most profitable strategy in crypto is just HODL BTC for years. You mind will be free, coz you know at least you have saved some value in long term.

Hi exhodlers,

I know many of you wish not selling early your BTC. This is very common story, I wish I hadn’t sell my bitcoins for cheap X years ago. Now it would be worth Y millions of dollars. I have idea for new coin/token:

We create smart contract for HODLing bitcoin for 5 years (that’s rough number, could be anything). For users who send their BTC to the smart contract, some new token or coin would be given. Tokens have their tokenomics, the whole thing is DAO with voting, stakings, farmings etc. For HODLers NFTs can be generated to create community thing.

Anyone interested in participating the project? Call it HodlCoin

11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PSU for Antminer T15 on: March 16, 2020, 02:02:38 PM
[...]

Wow man, I appreciate your detailed instructions and help. Now I got full guide how to replace APW8) Can easily send your text to my techs and they will deal with it. Thank you so much.

The APW8 that fits both T15 and S15 has an output voltage of 16.32V to 20.04V, and it costs about $100+ shipping, money wise I don't think it makes any sense to pay about 130-150 USD just to revive an old miner like the T15, it only does 23TH and consumes a good 1500-1600 watts, but that's the OP's call to make.

In my humble experience with these PSUs that Bitmain make, they are quite robust IMO, their PSUs have a lot more quality than the miners themselves, and I think I can say that at least 7-8 times out of 10 it's only a matter of PSU's fan replacement, and since you mentioned "several PSUs" I can only think that quite a good number of them only need a new fan, and those fans go for pretty cheap like $5-10, it's pretty easy to swap the PSU fan, you just need a screwdriver and a working PSU to test with.

I would love to know that the problem is only with fans. That way we can replace them quickly and save money. Thanks for the hint. We will check fans.

Probably the best move after you've checked to see if the fans on the supplies are good and if swapping the supply makes a difference. Blown power supplies are usually caused by FET/IGBT issues and wind up blowing the small fuse on the AC end of the supply. If new ones are .02 btc I'd say go that way first.

Antminer boards tend not to short out the whole supply line, what usually happens is a chip goes bad but since it's one chip in 64/80 it just raises the voltage slightly on the rest of the chips and shuts down the board because the clock and spi signals don't flow through. You can quickly check by disconnecting the boards from the supply and see if it works. If it does check each board's power connections with a meter looking for 0 ohm resistance.

Ok, got it. Thank you, man! I appreciate it.
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / PSU for Antminer T15 on: March 14, 2020, 10:04:32 AM
Hi. We have several T15s with a broken PSUs. How we can replace them? Does anyone have experience? We are thinking of using APW 7 (1800 watt), should be enough to cover 1.65 KWh consumption of Antminer T15.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Random coin picks experiment on: March 14, 2020, 10:00:08 AM
I would like to see the intermediate results of your experiment. More precisely, I wonder how efficiently your algorithm works, namely the selection of coins.
If you are still following this thread, then I ask you to give feedback or send me a personal message. Thanks.

Hi. I have closed 2 positions with average profit of 35% - AlGO/BTC (double) and AION/BTC 15 days ago. Now 6 positions are open:
VET/BTC -32%
LEND/BTC +11%
BAT/BTC (double pick) -11%
XZC/BTC -18%
NEO/BTC -20%
DGD/BTC -2%

So my total portfolio is -7.7% now.

I have take profit order on LEND/BTC, trying to make +30% on it.

Also, I plan to close BAT and DGD position soon.

Rest coins, I don't know yet. Maybe I will take a loss and close them until March 17.

Also "price checking" tick is gone. I realized it's only hitting hard at the beginning of your portfolio creation. Now, I check only once per 2 days. So I'm not worried anymore, just patiently waiting for the right time to sell each coin. I even enjoy it all. I feel that I made the right decision.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Random coin picks experiment on: March 03, 2020, 08:41:03 AM
The market is bleeding. My portfolio went down to 10-15%. Such a sudden drop. I have 19 days to wait. Hopefully, each coin will pump in this period so I can close my positions and prepare for the next round.
How are you currently doing? You have posted that you have been obtaining profits with your investments but I suppose the last days have been harsh since the market has been crashing at a very fast speed, are you still applying the same strategy? From your original post you seemed to want to apply this strategy because we were in a bull market or at least we were experiencing a positive movement but now it is clear the correction we are experiencing is real, will you change your strategy?

I'm doing alright, my portfolio recovered a little bit, but still, overall it's about 5% down. I have 6 coins left in my portfolio: VET, LEND, double BAT, XZC, NEO, DGD (only one that is green now). I will try to close my positions until March 17 (1 month from the initial investment date). I still wait for the pump and still believe that in 2020 it will happen.
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: T17e review. on: February 28, 2020, 02:07:34 PM
We have accepted the offer. Because more machines were offered to compensate for THs loss.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: T17e review. on: February 28, 2020, 09:15:06 AM
Our last order was T17+ 50 THs - batch February 1-10. We still didn't receive it due to coronavirus. Seller now offers a change order to T17 40 THs, which were manufactured in Malaysia. That way Seller can send it next week. Otherwise, we need to wait more, as the Bitmain factory in China is not operating at full capacity.
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer S19 Pro on: February 27, 2020, 09:39:35 AM
Bitmain has new ASIC - Antminer S19 Pro. Have you seen tech specs? 110 THs with only 3.3 KWh power consumption. That's dope. Power efficiency 30 J/TH. I think it's time to say bye to all ASICs with power efficiency more than 75 J/TH.

Closed another position - AION. Took a 40% profit. All my coins are in pair with BTC, not USDT
