Current amount of FCT (8.7 million) x value of FCT (1.9USD) / EC price (0.001USD) = 16.500.000.000. So this is the amount of entries that can theoretically be made with the current price of FCT, while Factom is now at 5.7 million entries. Seems like a big difference, but we all know once Factom starts to acquire big companies with big data sets to store on Factom's blockchain, it can go pretty fast. 16.5 billion is then suddenly not so much anymore. Especially if you keep in mind that a large part of the FCT will never be available for convertion into EC's, as they are used for trading/speculation and long term holdings. So in reality there are way less FCT available to really burn into EC's than the number of 8.7 million. This will drive the price.
Plus to me the inflation is not something that crazy, many fear that 73k FCT per month is crazy, but that basically means (if the company survives without burning any FCT) that it will double its supply in 10 years. So 16-20m FCT is not a huge supply either and that's the worst case scenario. That would never happen because the company will actually go out of business. In any case and we any real usage, inflation will be very low or even deflationary. So if Factom gets any kind of traction that means the current price is a steal like many of us have said in the past. I don't understand how FCT could be available to be burn into EC's before M3 as FCT's are always hold by someone in Poloniex or wallets. Actually and until M3, where burned FCT come from? That is actually a good question. Maybe someone from Factom can answer this here? Anyone holding FCT can convert that FCT to Entry Credits in a Factoid Transaction (our wallet handles building such a transaction). So I am not quite sure what the confusion is. You can buy FCT from Poloniex, then convert that FCT to Entry Credits. Or you can buy Entry Credits directly from Factom. https://shop.factom.com/(A note about shop.factom.com: The idea isn't really to be a source of Entry Credits, given a price of .5 cents for something you can convert yourself for .1 cents. The idea is really to provide a low friction path to Entry Credits which avoids wallets and Factoids and Exchanges.) We expect there will be other sources for Entry Credits over time. Paul Thank you Paul. It's better than what i thought. Factom customers don't even have to adopt crypto (buy btc, then buy FCT...) to use the technology. It's a killing bussiness model. Factom is using the best of blockchain tech without hustle their customer with it. EC's demand directly act as buy pressure at the market price. This misunderstanding point out that investors clearly need to be educated to be able to fully understand Factom valu. Morning all
Just to let you know that we've been working behind the scenes, and are getting ready for new things. XC is entering a new phase of its development and we're very excited to kick it off - and will do so as soon as we're ready.
Some of you have a expressed concerns about our relative silence of late. While I understand your reason for this, I want to emphasise that it is not beneficial to XC for us to pour hours of resources into Bitcointalk, and at the moment we have a lot to do. I ask that you'll have the faith to allow us to get on with our work.

Umm... Dan yesterday fixed issue with Mac wallet and today released a test of the android app. What more do you want?
They still can't even update the horrible XC website. Meanwhile they've moved on to dumping money / resources overnight into blocknet website. Expect development on XC now that it isn't the dev cashcow (pre-mine is gone) to come to a standstill. XC website - http://xc-official.com/Blocknet website - http://theblocknet.com/XC's website is in the process of being updated, actually a major over-haul and that doesn't happen over night. It takes time to do it right and have it align with XC's future roadmap. I hope everyone realizes that the technology being built here is powerful beyond our wildest dreams.
Yeah, it'd be nice if the BTC ratio would rise a bit to meet our natural desire for immediate satisfaction, but this technology is beyond profit and deserves a closer look.
The BlockNET will be the foundation upon which outdated institutions can be replaced.
Have a little anarchy in you? Great! The BlockNET can facilitate movement towards a stateless society. Self-regulation can be coded into being instead of written/voted/manipulated/bought into being.
What's the first thing anyone ever says when you proclaim a desire for the government to go away?
"What about the roads and our safety and blah blah blah..."
Technology like the BlockNET can replace government entirely. It will allow us to set up local, regional, national, global networks for raising issues, voting on issues, and acting on/financing issues in a truly decentralized system.
This isn't about profit. It's about building a better world.

XC advantage/disadvantage against Bitcoin:
XC disavantage:
-less protocol trust: take time even for a finished product to acquire trust
-more risk : XC code is in devellopment things could go wrong, investors with risk aversion prefer to wait the code to be tested and audited before investing too much
-adoption/recognition: XC could profit from bitcoin adoption (bitcoin opened the road for next generation)
-XC dependence: Have to buy bitcoin first. could change fast (cryptsy,mintpal adding xc/$...futur expansion of XC motivating big exchange to add XC...)
-Xc open source delayed: i see it as an advantage but it is open to debate so i place it here.
XC advantage:
-best technology : XC already outperform bitcoin technology
-best evolution rate: XC technology improve with a higher rate than bitcoin
-best road map: web 3.0, anonymous vocal/video calls, blockchain 2.0 apps, cloud storage...Bitcoin will look like dinausore pretty soon.
-best expected rewards : hard to expect x100+ profit now with bitcoin whereas it's clearly possible with XC
Exemple:
Bitcoin priced 15k$ x actual number of bitcoin 13 284 600 = 199 billions$ marketcap, actual price multiplied by 37.5
XC priced 300$ would give 1.66 billions marketcap (about 1/3 of actual bitcoin marketcap) , actual price multiplied by 500 (300$/0.6$)
-flexibility : XC can adapt very quickly.
-Clean public image: XC isn't related to silk road (FBI seizure..), MTgox hack 740k bitcoin could potentialy hit the market... 1 millions bitcoin from anonymous founder satoshi could hit the market
-best business model: more reason for customers to accumulate XC: 3.3% profit stacking per year, Run Xmixer with 1000 XC could generate huge profit in the futur...
Conclusion:
XC could overtake bitcoin faster than expected. Most of bitcoin advantage (recognition, adoption) have developed a solid basis for XC rise.
If Bitcoin ETF are regulated next few month it would open the door for Xc to enter in the same market and would be in direct fair competition against bitcoin.
With XC tech delivered, tested and audited vs bitcoin on nasdaq => bitcoin would loose the fight really quick. best technology, road map and risk/rewards attract smart and greedy investors.
every media would talk about insane bull run of XC on market, adoption/recognition and profit from xmixer explode...
If XC team continue to deliver the road map, i don't see how Xc could stay so much inferior than Bitcoin for long.
Don't you think in the futur XC marketcap could join 1/3 of actual bitcoin market cap? would transform 1000 euros initial investment into 500keuros, without counting stacking + xmixer profit.
