121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining from Home on: December 05, 2020, 08:54:52 AM
Hi all
I've been considering starting a small mining operation for a while.
I live in an apt and my electricity is included in my monthly HOA (basically free electricity).
I've been looking at the usual suspects like Bitmain, Innosilicon, etc. The main thing that worries me is the excessive noise and high energy consumption (don't really want to have problems with my management over burned out circuit breakers).

Bottom line is, can anyone recommend a build that would be good for an apartment ? Something that is quiet and doesn't put a large strain on home electrical circuitry ? I was thinking about just building a rig with 2/4 5700 cards, but the ROI is atrocious. I would love to just put a few Bitmain Asics, but the noise would be awful. Maybe there's a company that builds a quiet miner out there ?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
There will be burnt circuit breakers for sure, I used to own a asic miner s9 few years ago and I can't remember how many times I've called a qualified electrician to help fix some burnt circuits and later had to change the complete wirings, you sure have a point there, since it's not your own property it will be a mess, go with graphics card instead, with two RX5700 you will be earning up to 4$ per day with power draw of 400 watts with the motherboard and monitor
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 570 8g mining settings help on: December 04, 2020, 08:55:25 AM
I'm pretty curious about the memory of your GPU, is it a samsung or hynix? That's very important too as to get the right tweaking for the graphic card, I have 6 sapphire RX570 8gb variants with hynix memory, out of the box these cards only gives 18MH/s and after bios mod and few claymore tweaks i have achieved 30MH to 31MH per card
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Both centralized exchanges and dex arent perfect on: December 04, 2020, 08:47:47 AM
On CEX data can be breached and hacks can still take place, on DEX side it's not the same as there isn't any data to be compromised, users can trade tokens without any form of verifications, but CEX owns the majority of volumes and liquidity in whole crypto space and also good trading can only happen on CEX, so for security reasons it's better to choose DEX but for better trading experience CEX wins
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is going to be the next gem on: December 04, 2020, 08:41:53 AM
Bitcoin is already a certified gem right now, the war have been fought many times and bitcoin became a winner, look around you mate, who would have thought that PayPal of all payment solutions could consider crypto payment? Isn't this laughable? I'm sure that nakamoto will be so proud of himself today, his big dream have become a reality.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Used RTX307* needed on: December 03, 2020, 08:40:25 AM
I find out that RTX 3070 and RTX3080 are the best gpu for mining right now but I can't find where to get used variants as the new ones are way too costly for me, anyone know where I can get this graphic card ( used versions ), I've tried ebay but find other low cards from RX470 to RTX2080s only, thank you
They are indeed too costly, it may take a year or two before you can see used versions of these graphic cards, why don't you consider lower cards? RX580 costs as little as 158$ online, getting 5 of this card won't cost you more than 700$ roughly and the Ethash speed already beat a single RTX3070, a RX580 can do 27mh/s and 5 RX580 will give you 135mh, that's way better than what RTX3070 would ever give, using RX580 will bring ROI in just few months
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you trust the Code or Human? on: December 03, 2020, 08:27:42 AM
There is different between DeFi and DEX, the security of DEX is not comparable to that of CEX, it works better IMO but DEFI (decentralized Finance) projects are suffering from imperfections, probably because DeFi is still new? Well right now it's better to give DeFi projects some space, I've invested in there DeFi projects so far and I don't tend on doing more than that, it's better to trust centralized projects more right now, DeFi isn't strong yet and maybe in near future things might turn around

128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose which altcoin will you buy? on: November 28, 2020, 08:49:52 AM
I like going for projects with rare use case, if such use case is very useful the project will become a very popular project, remember that Ethereum gives birth to smart contract, Chainlink brings data Oracle, etc, this is how I choose my projects that I intended to hold for a very long period of time, believe me something new and rare are better
129  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SECURITY] CLONE Trust wallet on Google play store on: November 27, 2020, 09:16:15 AM
I was going through this thread on how trustworthy Trust wallet is since they are created and managed from binance lab. I have been using the App since 2018 and I haven't experienced any difficulty or bridge of security.
So, I decided to check on others reviews and their satisfaction, behold I saw another clone trust wallet on Google play store. They have the same features but different name. It's name TRAST WALLET

I want to share some advice regarding the image that says 'no reviews yet', even if the wallet have good reviews it still can't be trusted because it takes nothing but google accounts to add good reviews to a app on google playstore, good reviews aren't nothing, the scammer might be lazy if not he would have add good reviews himself
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick Help Me about scammy exchange on: November 27, 2020, 09:11:10 AM
Hi there!

Is wbfex.com / wbf.info exchange a scam?
I deposited some tokens there to sell but when I try to trade them but every time I try it says "The current price is lower 1000% than the last price"
and I cannot create sell order and people just keep buying/selling like there's no tommorow that token
(The buy/sell book is almost empty but the recent transactions tab is filling like every 3 seconds)
IDK what to do, their exchange doesn't seem a scam since on coinmarketcap they have like $2B volume

I NEVER got scammed before
please help Sad

Johnny

Why must you use an unknown exchange in the first place? We keep warning newbies like you to do research and always use popular exchanges because of something like this, any project or exchange can get listed on coinmarketcap just for ranking, it doesn't mean that the project can be trusted, coinmarketcap job is to feed people about new and old tokens/coins data and information including exchanges too
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 5700 - Help with overclocking needed on: November 26, 2020, 09:58:17 AM
I don't think it's worth overclocking RX5700 for two reasons

1. It will draw more power, you want to lower the power draw for better returns and avoid spending more on electricity

2. RX5700 are very hot, overclocking them will make them more hotter, this can shorten their life span
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining system on: November 26, 2020, 09:55:26 AM
I’m looking into a gpu rig for alt coins possibly eth. It has 6x gtx 1060’s he is asking $700 is that a reasonable price? He is saying they get about 24 etash/s each.

Is that 24 mh/s? And is it even worth investing in? I was going to offer $400.

Thanks
For 700$ it's still a good price, to build that rig separately will cost you more than that today, motherboard and other things like ram, risers etc will add more expenses so better buy at the price if the seller isn't ready to reduce the amount, just make sure you test the miner very well before paying
133  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another fake atomic app on google play store on: November 25, 2020, 08:56:14 AM
And Google team claimed that Google store is scam free?

Can you point us to your source that says Google made this claim? Not sure if they'd make such a bold claim knowing how exceptionally false it is even at whatever angle you look at it.
I think it's true, there was a time when too many fake apps are available on playstore and they are been flushed out one by one, there was a statement made at the time that google play store is now safe 🤔, that's a very long time ago, not sure I can dig anything up about this again, anyways its getting more risky to install apps through stores now, better start downloading from official websites
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shitcoins are complete shitcoins this time around on: November 25, 2020, 08:52:17 AM
Don't go around packing some shitcoins to take advantage of altcoin season, I had a friend who is doing this presently thinking that the market will perform just like 2017 bull market where many shitcoins brings insane amount of profits for their holders, as you can see presently only top altcoins are benefiting the most out of the present bullrun, it's more about project's use cases and utilities, not some unrealistic Hypes anymore
Many don't need to start packing shitcoins because almost everyone as a shitcoin or two in their portfolio, some are made through bounties and some through airdrops, i myself have over 12 different useless tokens in my ethereum wallet, if altcoin season do come and these shitcoins atleast turn to few dollars I will gladly sell them off but I doubt there will be buyers
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are centralized projects more reliable right now? on: November 24, 2020, 08:28:04 AM
Many new projects using the name decentralized aren't capable to be fully decentralized because what they offer are more like centralized ideas, it's shocking that many DeFi projects got hacked in 2020, this will forever be remembered in crypto history, why are DeFi projects easily getting breached by hackers ? Are centralized projects and platform a more reliable option right now? Why DeFi?
136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it a good time to get in or not on: November 24, 2020, 08:24:01 AM
Crypto is unpredictable, if I tell you not to buy bitcoin because it's at 18000+ right now and price surge to 30,000$ won't that ruin my credibility? The only advice I can give you is Bitcoin still remains bullish judging from pro traders point of view and Bitcoin charts but the risks are still very much available, the risk is on you pal, you have to make a choice yourself
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emporium.Finance CEFI - Peer-to-Peer Marketplace and DeFi Liquidity Mining on: November 24, 2020, 08:20:27 AM
I'm looking forward to do some deep analysis on this project but so far I'm satisfied with what I see but I'm a bit confused why this good project have no single volume on uniswap, do you guys have any upcoming plans for providing good volume or listing on other exchanges?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some till don't understand crypto and bitcoin on: November 21, 2020, 08:33:40 AM
Crypto can survive without bitcoin, I believe that's what the CEO is referring to but he still lacks the real existence of Bitcoin that's why he is confused, the reason why Avalanche project caught my attention was because of the team existence before bitcoin was released by Nakamoto, there are few projects before bitcoin too, it means that Avalanche team have high level experience about blockchain
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Preparing for altcoin season on: November 21, 2020, 08:29:42 AM
Are you getting prepared for a new altcoin season already or you still thinking that altcoins aren't going to start pumping soon? Well there is 90% chance that altcoins will starts bullish trend after bitcoin does it's thing to a new ATH, whales also have a role to play here too so here are best top altcoins I believe are good enough to ride the altcoin season

1. Ethereum
2. ChainLink
3. Bnb token
4. Polkadot

I see more ETH breaking its market records.

The POS in ETH is already a reality.

There will be less ETH in circulation with ETH 2.0
That's new, I never find any information about Ethereum having a new max supply in the next 2.0 upgrade, that will be cool really because lack of max supply is one of the reasons why ethereum is so undervalued today, this coin already deserves four figure like 1000$ this year
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why can't the current Ethereum price keep up with the Bitcoin price? on: November 20, 2020, 08:36:53 AM
Give it some time more before complaining, its in history that bitcoin always take the first lead in every bull season and altcoins don't follow the bullish movement instantly, within few more weeks altcoins should start surging as well but that depends on bitcoin dominance
