1  Economy / Services / Re: Want to Upload your Picture and files to the blockchain? on: May 28, 2014, 02:26:01 AM
What would you be doing differently than http://www.btproof.com ?

As the others have pointed out, I'm not able to view the regular site. But I did look at the cache site. btproof.com, to me, seemed to be very techy. Meaning that you have to kinda know how to code some. And, it wasn't user friendly. I may be wrong, but thats the impression I got. What I plan on having is a site where you will be able to upload images, messages, and files with a single click. No need to "hash", no need to import/export addresses wallets, etc. Its going to be so user friendly. You would be able to see photos, messages, and files other have uploaded. You can do this because the bitcoin is public. The transactions are all public.

That would be amazing i say, i haven't heard this thing before but sure be ready to look out in future
It has already happened. There are pictures of Nelson Mandela. I'm talking jpeg images, not links. Quotes, files, programs, and somethings in there that I don't want to mention exists in the blockchain. Satoshi himself put a message in the first block ever mined.

Is there an easy way to view the files stored on the blockchain? If people can see what is hidden inside, there will be more interest in putting files there.
Thats a great question, PolarPoint. Is there an "easy" way to view the files at this time? For the average person, imo, no. I don't believe the average person has the skills to view images and files on the blockchain directly. Of course, I plan on making it super easy to view files, images, messages that are already on the blockchain.

@RF
While you bring up some interesting points, allow me to address them.

So you are out to destroy the block chain?
No. Destroying the blockchain is not my intention. Might this test the blockchain a little? Maybe. Maybe not. Did Satoshi dice and other bitcoin based application "destroy" the blockchain? No.

Absolutely the last thing that bitcoin needs is 7 billion ass clowns loading up the blockchain with pictures of their dog.
Imagine if 7 billion people trusted bitcoin? 7 billion people relied on the bitcoin blockchain? 7 billion people USING THE BLOCKCHAIN. With a transition to the mainstream, people must be able to use it, with ease. Search it with ease. View it with ease. As you can tell from this thread, some didn't know about the ability to store pictures, and files in the blockchain. If bitcoin wants to become more mainstream, people must understand it and be able to use it. I will make this seamless transition for many to use the blockchain without knowing one line of code. Of course, everything will be verifiable IF you know how to code and view the blockchain.

Oh… but wait…… What if some sick fuck uploads  kiddie porn onto the blockchain and then the  sickos start using it as a distribution network for kiddie porn as a guaranteed way to ensure distribution with  ZERO TRACEABILITY ,…. now……. every copy of the block chain held independently would be:

1. An excuse for WHY kiddie porn was on your computer. ( sorry officer , I was only using bitcoin)
2. An excuse for law enforcement to totally destroy the Crypto currency due to its association with the most vile of human beings.

Yep well you did not think of that did you?

Then the  Bitcoin Programming team would be forced to counteract the stupidity, but wait… how to remove the filth already in the confirmed blockchain…..

Unfortunately, this stuff is already on the blockchain. And with or without this service, more is being put on the blockchain. And, of course, by the decentralization of bitcoin's nature, nobody owns bitcoin and everybody owns bitcoin. So, like guns, or technology, it can be used for good and/or for evil. Of course, I will do all I can to prevent evil, but I can only do so much. And once the service is available, I'd like your suggestions on how to prevent such activities. I want this service to be used for the good, not the evil.

The day when a judge will consider something timestamped in the blockchain a legal proof I thing that the need for this kind of service will explode.
Not that I want bitcoin regulated, but if it ever is regulated, I think they would have to acknowledge the timestamp of transactions.

Are you talking about the actual public blockchain? Assuming it's possible, what's the point of doing such thing? What good would it do?
It's more than possible, it's happening. There are wikileaks files stored in the blockchain. Pictures of Nelson Mandela, etc. Most people put messages/articles in the blockchain for proof, and to be time stamped. Others put things in the blockchain for public access. Another point of putting something in the blockchain is that it can't be removed. So, if you are a writer in a highly censored country, if you put something in the blockchain, the government can't remove it. Although, the writer may still get punished, the content can't be removed. And other miscellaneous reasons drive people to put things in the blockchain.
4  Economy / Services / Want to Upload your Picture and files to the blockchain? on: May 27, 2014, 04:22:38 AM
Right now, the steps to upload messages, pictures, and files directly to the blockchain is too complex for the non-tech types. How would you feel about a simple service that did all the hard work for you and uploaded anything you wanted to the blockchain for you? Would you use it it?
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help with bitcoin Auto Pay on: May 16, 2014, 11:26:46 PM
Im willing to pay or partner or whatever you like.

that auto payment would be very simple. you could just run a cron job every
  • amount of minutes and have it calculate everything out... if it does'nt meet the standards then don't payout on that.. it will continue to try until your standards are met and process the payout.
So would you be able to set it up? Please pm me your price and any questions so we can get this going.

I love the idea of this site. The only thing is, you gotta make it more user friendly. Make it sooooo easy.
In my opinion, it give the "average user" too many options.
"Import to wallet"- medium to hard difficulyy for average user
"instant", "list", "csv"- average user doesn't even know what that means as far as bitcoins and wallets, etc. are concerned.
And the costs, and amount, and donation, you might want to specify is that in btc or usd.

Is it possible to just have the user type their message, then say send x amount of bitcoins to xyz, and then your service automatically sends the funds to the blockchain?
I love the idea of your site. PM me

Payouts are based on the percentages of investments.
If the highest investment is 1 bitcoin at the time, and address_4 sends in .5 Bitcoins. Then address_4 will always have a 50% payout rate.
So, if the highest investment sent to the main address_0 is 1 bitcoin by address_3, then address_4 sends in .5 bitcoins, address_5 sends in .5 bitcoins, and lastly, address_8 sends in 2 bitcoins. How much will each address receive in FUTURE payouts?
Easy. It's all based on the percentage of the highest investment.

Highest investment = 1 Bitcoin by address_3 = 100%(For this example, lets say the was the first ever investment)
address_4 = .5 = 50%
address_5 = .5 = 50%
address_8 = 2  = 200% (New highest investor)

Payouts:
Address_3 will recieve a weighted 100% of address_4 investment (minus the 10% that is ALWAYS kept by the main address_0) = .45 bitcoins.
address_4 will recieve a weighted 50% of address_5 investment and address_3 will recieve a weighted 100% of address_5. So hold 10% of address_5 investment for the main address_0. So the main address will keep 10% is .05 bitcoins. Address_3 will get 66.66% of address_5 = .297. Address_4 will get 33.33% of address_5 investment = .148 bitcoins.

To find the percentage, take the addresses investment percentage and divide it by the sum of all the previous percentages, then multiply it by 100. That will give you the payout percentage. Then take that number, and multiply the percentage by the next investment. But always keep 10% for the main address_0.

So we can make sure we are on the same page, tell me how much each address will get from address_8 investment of 2 bitcoins.

It's not so complicated, though it depends how much quality you want to put into the code. Proper error handling and passing failed payments back to the queue with some log events and prioritising, it can be quite a job.

So, basically I need it to go like this:
Bitcoin Address_0 receives a payment from bitcoin Address_1. Address_0 keeps X% of address_1 payment. Address_0 then divides up the remaining balance, and forwards payment to previous investors automatically. In the case where address_0 tries to send a payment to an address but the payment amount is less than the bitcoin transaction fee, that payment is queued until the payment reaches above the transaction fee. At that point, the payment will be sent. All transaction fees are paid by the receiving address.

Are you wanting to hire a programmer? I've just created a similar script.
Sure, I'll hire a programmer who can get the job done. Tell me about the script. I'm not a programmer. Is it easy to install? Do I need to install anything? How will it confirm transactions? Will it get information from the actual bitcoind, or will it get it from another website like blockchain.info? How secure is it?

When you say in the future, do you mean as soon as the transaction is added to the blockchain, or after a certain amount of time?

I already have a script developed that can be modified for this. I can alter it for $30 in BTC. Pm me.
Future meaning, as soon as the transaction is added to the blockchain. I want it fast!! I want people getting their money NOW! Smiley
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Help with bitcoin Auto Pay on: May 12, 2014, 01:20:52 AM
I need to auto pay in bitcoins. I need to do this on my website, youradhere.se. What is the simplest way I can set this up. I have one main bitcoin address, and whoever sends ANY amount of bitcoins to it, will be forwarded bitcoins in the future. Is there a simple way to do this?
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / your ad here.SE needs some help on: May 04, 2014, 06:32:41 PM
I would like to ask the community for assistance with this site. First, the layout needs to be better. I'm not a programmer. I'm just a person with an idea that I want to grow.

I'll be more than happy to pay someone or a group. Or if you just want to help out, that's cool too. In the future, I'll be able to offer you my traffic:)
Also, any ideas would be much appreciated as well.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoGraffiti - Block Chain Message Encoder & Decoder on: May 02, 2014, 01:20:50 AM
So, let me understand this.
A user goes to CryptoGraffiti and writes whatever message in the space given. Then, your software generates bitcoin addresses in relation to the human text/message a user just entered. After that, I use my wallet to send bitcoins to those addresses your software generated? However, the "messages" now in the blockchain aren't in plain text. You need to use your software to convert it to plain text? Do I have this right?

So you want to run a ponzi scheme?
No. lol
Why? Do you know of a program that will help?
15  Bitcoin / Project Development / Guidance and thoughts for a SECURE automatic wallet system on: March 14, 2014, 12:48:09 AM
Hello. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm sorry in advance because I'm not technical savvy. I'm looking to have developed an automated system. Basically, I will have one main wallet. Lets call the main wallet, Main Wallet.
This main wallet will be accepting payments from other wallets. So lets say Wallet 1 sends Main Wallet 1btc. I will need Main Wallet to 'store'  the the address of Wallet 1. A short time later, Wallet 2 sends Main Wallet 1btc. Main Wallet then automatically sends a % of btc to  Wallet 1.
Wallet 3 sends Main Wallet 3btc and Main Wallet automatically sends Wallet 1 x% then Wallet 2 y%. And so on.

So the basics are to accept payments from ONE bitcoin address. Store the addreses that sent the payments. Perform a calculation to determine the % each address will recieve in the future. Autmatically pay those addresses that have made previous payments to Main Wallet.

What is the best solution for this situation? I'd prefer to gather directly from the blockchain itself, rather than rely on a thrird party API.

Where do I go for help? Is there a program like this already? Who should I have develop it? What questions should I ask? Is this even posible? What would make this not work? What security issues do I need to look out for?
