1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | POW/POS | 0.10.6.3 - New Self Moderated Thread on: October 31, 2018, 03:55:40 AM
Hi, supporters
We have fixed the problems at this stage
However, in the final third party testing, it is recommended that the code is not secure enough(due to the older MN code)

So next we need to re-add the latest code
Creator MAX gives upgrade advice
We've made it clear what we're going to do

The developer gives about six weeks, and I think it's probably still a bit longer
But as we have accumulated a lot of experience, we will reduce many difficulties

Thank you for your attention
We will never give up
For Quark!

Good news! The proof of stake hard fork was achieved very smoothly.

Still see much potential in this coin.

I’ll be listing Quark for sale on eBay shortly, any advice on what websites to point to in the description?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MZC][SHA-256] MAZACOIN *First Sovereign Currency* ANDROID WALLET AVAIL.!! on: January 05, 2018, 08:56:54 AM
Mazacoin has made some big gains lately, let's build on this success!

I made a video that includes Mazacoin in a discussion about a few lesser known crypto currencies, have a look here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmT8nTN2bRw

Even if you don't care to watch the entire video, you will notice there is a link to the android wallet in the description - IT WORKS!

Hello everyone!

First let me apologize for despairing earlier at the state of this coin. There is a lot to be positive about, and it's a whole new year!

I manage the Mintcoin facebook page, and not only is there a surge of interest, but also plenty offers of technical assistance have come my way.

Of course, now that the price has increased somewhat (alternating between 1-2 Sats was pretty miserable for a while) it is the perfect time to regain some momentum!

What I'd really like to do is have a role call for active developers, web site administrators, social media managers, willing volunteers, etc.

Post a reply or send me a DM.

Let's make 2018 a great year for Mintcoin!

A reminder that our website over at http://aswp.life can take payments in DASH.

Can anyone recommend a site for auctioning or selling items in DASH?

how many coins in total?

The block explorer shows there are some 250 Million coins total currently.

I'm excited for the POS application, but unsure how this would change the total number of Quarks that can be mined.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIRE][X11] ELECTRONIC LIRA - NEWS ABOUT OP. BANDIERA on: November 01, 2017, 02:22:55 PM
Hello there!!
There are people interested in revitalize the coin??
Where are people with wallets....?

It's difficult to say now whether this was ever a genuine effort to start a new national currency for Italy.

I'm sure there are still a few people such as myself that still have their original wallet.dat file and some amount of coins, who just watched as people cashed out and the network died.

Since this coin died Italy has new problems now as Refugees swarm in on boats from Libya and other places.

Maybe this coin can be revived with some kind of Nationalist bent to it.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much price BTC 1 January 2018? on: November 01, 2017, 02:14:23 PM
I'd say under $4000. Anything over $3000 would still be a great year for Bitcoin.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $10,000 before the end of the year? on: November 01, 2017, 02:11:17 PM
I doubt it personally. I expect that speculators are soon to pick their exit ahead of the hard fork, and it will be dumped hard.

I tried to send a transaction a couple of weeks ago, but it was unable to confirm. Is there an updated client that can fix?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin on: November 01, 2017, 01:52:05 PM
Developments are still active, it's just taking a while to produce updates worth notifying you all about.  Also, you should not be mining the old coin, just hold on to what you have right now. IF you really feel like reviving the old one, we could do so but it would be quite a long road.

We repeat: it's just taking a while to post update-worthy content. We don't want to spam, but we could increase the update frequency during lulls to further discuss ideas.  You are all welcome to fill in the silence while waiting for us to get a good slew of businesses behind Smallchange and secure our money transmission licenses.

As you know (if you've read the different Statements in the Slack channel or my previous posts on AIRcoin's forum), Aleph0 Technologies is working on quite a few technologies at the moment.  We're splitting our time between projects that would otherwise occupy whole startup teams.  We're doing this without requesting a dime from any public backer (feel free to donate though, just PM us for details).  We recognize we don't deserve a cookie or a medal for doing this, but a start-up is going to struggle and is going to have to work through those struggles to bring its users the types of products and content they would like to see, for FREE.

TL;DR  We are raising money privately, but not that much: we're bootstrapping most of the technologies you've seen on the Slack Channel that we are working on.  We aren't really big on "pay us first, get the product (MUCH) later".  Tell us if you think "wait to use to the product first, pay for it (MUCH) later" is taking too long though. We can shift gears.

This coin is alive again now? I bought some Aircoin years ago and watched the coin die. Is there a client that still syncs?

My impression was that the Aircoin developers used this project to test bot AI on Poloniex, which may of been implemented for other coins, otherwise, it seems we were all screwed.

What's your relationship, if any, to the original developers?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MINT] Mintcoin (POS / 5%) [NO ICO] [Fair distro, community maintained] on: November 01, 2017, 01:45:02 PM
It's unfortunate to see Mintcoin in such a state.

I was a big believer in this coin, however, it has become very difficult simply to run the wallet.

On Windows 8, a bug prevented my installation of the latest wallet from opening after a while.

It takes so long to sync a new wallet, even from a bootstrap, that I've given up.

Mintcoin enthusiasts who have been around for a while have all seen that the latest client, even when synced up, is bloated and this is a major problem.

I'm the sole administrator for the Mintcoin account on facebook, I will add anyone that has passion for this coin and can use it to reach out to the community.

Otherwise, I'm resigned with my meager stash of two million Mintcoins to abandon this coin.

One of my favourite features of Mintcoin, the POS staking, is now being implemented into Quark, so consider supporting that initiative.

The nature of Quark is such that they prune the blockchain to keep things snappy, something Mintcoin sorely lacks.

Anyone heard from Payu here?

To look at his facebook - mostly he seems to be chasing girls living in Thailand or something

Hey, does anyone know what the algo is for MintCoin?
Could not find it on OP. Also, I take it MintCoinOfficial.com
website is down and suspended. Anyone know what's up with that?

Peace, Dennis

The 'algo' isn't relevant because Mintcoin is no longer Proof of Work and can't be mined, rather it is staked. However in the history of the coin, Mintcoin had a mining period before it switched to 20%, then the 15% stage came a little early and the coin forked to handle some technical issues. The 10% phase switched without any problems, so the clients can be updated but the core code shouldn't have to be forked again.

RE: mintcoin-central.com, I put in a request for David Latapie to transfer ownership to me, seeing as I have funded the last two domain extensions on the site. I put in a redirect to mintymintcoin.com but this isn't showing for me yet.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Core 0.9.2.6 on: January 26, 2016, 04:01:46 AM
Ok I will do that Wink
However this is strange, coin is so "old", has remarkable properties,
had some beautiful moments, keeps it's prices (more or less), has some volume on btc38, etc. ...
So why it is not available on many different Exchanges?

Weak network due to super low rewards for miners because the creators of this coin decided the majority of the coins should go to the first few people.

People had months to get mining before the block reward became 1 quark, and there has been plenty of time since then to discover the coin and purchase a share. The network works and will scale when the interest is there. If you care at all about fundamentals in this crypto market you should own some.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: That is it. Bitcoin is totally unpredictable. This market is fake. on: January 25, 2016, 08:34:23 AM
The exchanges aren't fake.

The same market mechanics observed with stocks or forex avail to BTC on a relatively liquid exchange like BFX.

As with the stock market, the bitcoin market requires expensive infrastructure.  Someone has to pay for it.

There is a stochastic component to the price behavior, and it is such that it maximizes revenue extraction to keep the infrastructure going.

If you understand how market structure develops, you can avoid being the steady funder of the infrastructure, and let other unwary traders be the beast of burden.

Actually, the event which caused me to start this thread, was far worse than the Bitfinex bot conspiring to push the market up to trigger my stop (which proves to me that much of the volume on these exchanges is padding, otherwise it would have been far too expensive to run market up for paltry little handful of BTC from my own trade, and probably just a few other traders with same idea..may as well post this again:

When I started this thread. Some whale had just ramped Bitstamp, up to a point where a whole bunch of Stop Buy orders were placed, just above the 'breakout' point. BTC on Stamp spiked from $325 up to $355 in a matter of a few minutes. The other exchanges followed but the whale on Stamp then dumped it right back down and killed the move. What this basically is, is some Stamp whale, who has both access to the order book, and front running privileges to the exchange, to ensure that his sell orders are the ones that get filled first when he ramps, and triggers the Stop Buys that he can see all placed up above the $345 level.

This is corrupt at the very least, and whilst these are unregulated exchanges, I would imagine that their is some Anti Fraud law that would also make this illegal, just as the Finex bot swiping any customers Stop Orders within easy touching distance of spot in order to fund the super expensive exchange infrastructure, will also be illegal.

I don't doubt what you said about Bitstamp, maybe this is why Gemini has low volume? They jumped through all the hoops to get regulated, and whales who can't cheat the system have little incentive to trade there?

While we are talking websites I wanted to post a reminder that I took over the mintcoin-central.com domain from David Latapie and have the wordpress assets. It's paid for until March of this year, I will post a reminder here before renewing. My idea would be to have something ready when Mintcoin is in its final 5% phase. Then the answer to the question, 'What is Mintcoin?' is much easier, it stakes at 5% and the history of the coin is well documented whether here or on  reddit, on the blockchain, etc.

In the meantime, if anyone wants to host and brand a 4K wallpaper I will provide the stock photo footage by posting to flickr, just took quality images of Maria Island I'll reserve some for here and some for National Geographic  Wink
I like that we have the mintcoin-central.com but there is a lot of out of date info on there currently. For example: http://mintcoin-central.com/exchanges/ still shows mintpal as an exchange....LOL.  What info do we want to be the focus there? It is great we have all of these digital assets to put to use. I agree that one thing I think would be great is to put together a detailed history. Some of us who have basically been with MINT from the start and seen it all, been through it all, could collaborate to fill in the gaps and timeline. I'm not sure how important it is to everyone to know the history (not everyone is a history type person), but I think some people would definitely like it. If we can keep a running log of the major events that happen with MINT over the years it would just be good. It is just good to clear up some misconceptions that may be out there. It may also garner respect for our community, as we read through all of the things we have overcome. Honestly, Mintcoin has been through digital hell!!! I mean if I think of all we've been through it is really impressive!

Yet MINT is still alive, still here, still going. It's worth documenting. The MINT story is one for the crypto-history books!

I'm posting a link to the files that make up mintcoin-central.com, I believe these can be edited on the cloud over at onedrive -> https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=DC9C46339710488!7389&authkey=!ALxyWw505RH6Inw&ithint=file%2csql

I haven't learned wordpress and I'm not about to, so they are there for someone else to make current or expand upon and I'll reupload an edited version.

Otherwise, I'll post some new bounties here to kick things off while Cryptomommy steps back from leading community efforts.

For a working Windows Phone wallet that can send payments by scanning QR codes: 1 000 000 MINT upon delivery of working alpha release.

For a working iOS wallet that can send payments by scanning QR codes: 1 000 000 MINT upon delivery of working alpha release.

This is my address and this is where the payments will come from: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mint/address.dws?1007498.htm

This is a further wallet that the community can use to add to these bounties or to contribute to mintcoin-central.com: MXWuonG45Fg9b2SoN8mDai1RbMLeeWNhpa

I don't have an android device so I've no interest there, sorry.

A working web wallet that can access the camera on either Windows Phone 8.1 or iOS 9.0.2 and adds an API for shapeshift.io will be a further 500 000 MINT bonus.

I don't care about a staking wallet, the official desktop client can be where that happens.

Also, some Mintcoin promotional material is coming soon!

These bounties are good until march 20th, then the amounts will be revised (bounties can be added to OP).

Any other mintcoin enquiries, contact dragonseer@iinet.net.au

Just about finished prototyping my Open Source Software release, based on Linux Mint 17, titled 'Quetzalcoatl'. Comes out before the end of the year!

Any suggestions about changing the icon for the Mintcoin-Qt executable?

When was the hard fork? And what did it do? What was the purpose of the fork?
I can't see any easy to find discussion on it.
Around October 5th with the release of 0.9.2.6

Unless I am mistaken, the Quark client regularly prunes the blockchain to keep it fast. Anyone that knows their way around github could audit the changes and make sure that is the only adjustment though
