41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX580s sweet offer from China on: September 03, 2021, 03:07:09 PM
I have been testing two RX 6600XTs since yesterday.

With minimal tweaking (basically only GPU 1350Mhz & MEM 2250MHz, no voltage tweaks) my result so far:

87.5W for ~ 32MHs (total card power on the wall)

More details in this post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5354335.msg57701633#msg57701633

Not sure why your power draw is a lot higher than mine but I am getting 64w/ea at the wall for five cards mining ETH and still tweaking for lower voltages etc.

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: March 16, 2021, 03:52:44 AM
huge applause to those that bought GPUS at x2 retail prices and now they are eating a 25% drop in ETH prices, and probably even more, according to TA, which can go as low as 1000$, TOTALLY DESTROYING the previsions on ROI they have made.

YOU DESERVE IT, GREEDY GUYS!!!

Are they greedy for trying something out or are you greedy for not wanting them to buy something so you could buy it and profit yourself ?  Huh Huh Huh

i will answer you, straight away.

To begin with, i've been mining since mid 2017. i did it at that moment without knowing it could get it's ATH in January 2018. I ate myselft all the bear season in 2018-2019 and part of 2020, mining with very little profit. I did it, first because i wanted this technology to succeed, and the first important thing to do on a PoW coin, is to mine to support it. Every year with my hashrate in bear market (like 90$ an ETH coin) i lost money that i had to put from my wallet. i hated myself for having entered this market and i was at a point of selling the hardware. Finally, thank god, i didn't do it.

Now, that prices are really high, greedy guys, probably like you come like flies to try to get the most profit out of it, once all the rest, the real FIGHTERS held the coin working and secure from 51% attacks with their hashrates. Now that all "old" miners, like me, did the HARD, THE TOUGH AND UNPROFITABLE WORK, there are GUYS THAT ARE TAKING THE PROFIT FROM US.

I will explain it to you as an example: Imagen that you have to prepare meal. You have to go to the supermarket, buy all the food, get home, prepare it, cook it, put it on the table, and then, suddenly some big amount of MOFOS that saw your food enter your house and begin eating your food like real scammers. Those greedy guys taking advantage of you.

We are not talking about "small" amounts of people. We are talking about x2,5 on total hashrate in 7 months, and at these speeds, there will be like 600TH EVEN BEFORE POS IS IMPLEMENTED.

Do you know WHY I KNOW THIS PEOPLE ENTERING NOW ARE GREEDY BAST*RDS?? Because they are investing on a thing that will likely go PoS by the end of the year, with a price cut on July of over 40% on Fees with the implementation of EIP-1559. And they still invest? Why? Because this people know NOTHING ABOUT THE COIN, WHATS GOING ON OR WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN SOON. They just care about money as much as possible which is why they are greedy B*stards.

ETH hashrate is growing so fast, that devs have said they will rush the implementation on PoS because they need to DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM MINING, because the more coins are mined, the more coins will be in the market, the less valuable they will be just for a matter on the amount of circulating coins.

The ETH hashrate has more than doubled from August 2020 to now. And this movement is related specifically due to greed people eating MY EFFORT AND THE EFFORT OF THE REST OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE KEPT MINING DURING VERY HARD TIMES. Those greedy people have destroyed part of my effort, a well deserved profit for my months through tough times.

So you answered his question... you're just one of the greedy people.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: asrock h81 pro btc boots into bios menu when powered on on: March 14, 2021, 07:56:02 PM
I have two of these boards.

Check your risers if no cards are detected.. one bad riser will bring them all down. If you're getting into bios at bootup.. are you using a usb drive as the boot or an SSD/HDD? If USB, try SSD/HDD, sometimes the bios don't see the USB right away and if it doesn't see the usb drive for boot it'll just go into bios.

Hope this helps.

eth is back over $1811 and paying  9.78 cents an mh

if it can stay at 9.78 cents an mh

buying slightly over priced cards is fine.
That is if ETH stays at that price or grow higher, the issue is no one can say for sure but it's just so much unsafe buying gpu at high price for mining right now but yes I expect so many people to keep buying GPUs even at high prices anyways, it's a big risk I don't want to take

Back in 2017 people were saying exactly the same things. There were no cards in the market so those who wanted them were scraping bottoms at whatever price they were offered. I myself bought a few 1080ti's at way over $1000 back then. But you know what, I still have them and they still work making me money. The fact that I managed to have my ROI in 5 months back then was irrelevant to me - I wasn't looking for quick returns but rather for top of the line equipment that I would take good care of and it will work for me for years. I guess that was the right decision, so now I do exactly the same with 3080 and 3090 whenever I have a bit of spare cash on hand.

Any advice to keep the cards in good shape after years besides being conservative on the overclocks and keeping them cool? I am looking to do the same thing with my stash of RTX 3000 cards and keep them for long.

Both EVGA 3060 Ti XC and 3060 XC hashrates at the exact same settings in HIVEOS:

Eth:
3060 Ti: 58 MH
3060: 24 MH

Octopus:
3060 Ti: Didn't test
3060: 44 MH

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: my first crypto mining rig, on: February 22, 2021, 01:45:01 AM
I am running 5 of those cards on a single 850w Seasonic PSU without any issues. Each card takes 120w so the draw from the wall is around 670w give or take.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for rxboost activated miner on: February 17, 2021, 11:12:34 AM
Phoenix miner stopped working through Nicehash no matter what I tried, just only on my AMD rigs, still working on the Nvidia rigs so using NBminer makes me lost few hashrate because NBminer don't have rxboost mode configured, is there any other miner that has this rxboost implemented?

Gminer is working for me with rx boost.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Single PSU 1600w for six 3070? on: February 06, 2021, 05:05:56 AM
I run 5x (2x 3060 Ti, 3x 3070) on a 850W Seasonic X-850 just fine (I had extra cables so was able to plug each card with their own pci-e cable from the psu). Pulls 650w at the wall, each card undervolted to 125w so I would imagine a 1600w PSU should be more than fine.

For those of you that own the MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio, does one of the four screws mounting the GPU have that warranty void if removed sticker on it?

If you're seeing low results it should be a simple matter of flashing to the surprim bios and possibly replacing the 1mm thermal pads for the memory on the backplate to get that 100MH/s.
