@laxori: Are you around man? You seem to have the skill to take this over. It's not too late.
Hmm maybe in terms of technical skill I do, but I don't know how good I'd be at actually running the coin. Plus there doesn't seem to be that much interest anymore, even as of last week, there's only like 3 people posting on this thread. Not sure if it'd be worth it to be honest.

@laxori: What's your opinion about this? Have you worked with Sunny on anything lately? If yes, could you provide some info about what it was and if any progress has been made? Also, how was your experience working with him?

I think it's clear sunny has bailed. I don't know why to be honest. I've PMed him a few days ago and he hasn't replied.

I volunteered to do the subcurrencies and was working on it (can see my work so far here: https://github.com/csaftoiu/shinycoin/tree/subcurrencies ). I stopped pending seeing what was going on with primer. I thought all would be fine when mod verified the extortion attempt but looks like sunny has given up?

My experience was that he was pretty disorganized. He would make last-minute changes when a release was due. He would sometimes reply quickly and other times be very unresponsive. Definitely not a reliable dev. Only way forward for this coin is for someone to take over, fork it, change the checkpoint and alert and signing keys. At least code is public now, so if someone really likes the idea they can start a new coin that uses ramhog.

I'd love to see this coin succeed, but it ain't gonna happen unless sunny starts communicating with us! Has anybody tried PMing him?

Shinycoin  now listed at

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/#shinycoin

But coinmarketcap still need a way to show the The number of coins in existence available to the public.
It seems that the total number can not get from http://shinychain.org/ .

Any body can give a help?
Thanks.
I'm sort of skeptical to keep participating at this point, but this was an easy enough change. Here is the money supply URL: http://shinychain.org/shc/api/v1/moneysupply .

Primer any word from the mods? Are they just not going to step in?

Hi, when i use the web wallet to transfer some shc to my local wallet, there always a “Error! Transaction failed!”. Can you help me?
Hmm can you give a more specific error? What does the javascript console say? PM me if you want to do it not publicly.

Does SMF board send the body of the message in the notification?

No but the moderator will most likely take a look at the post. Lets hope it does not get auto-deleted Smiley

Then dude, you do not have some solid proof there. Smiley

bitcointalk most likely has an automated msg removal system - if a post is reported many times it gets temporarily deleted.

Proof can not be more solid. I;ve seen it with my own eyes. My post BEFORE sunny's has not been altered and mods can confirm it.
Next time take a screenshot. Although even that could be faked if you really had enough motivation. It is pretty unlikely that you posted 1 minute before sunny did just to have the opportunity to edit the post with his message and make this claim up, though. Very suspicious, but I’ll only be 100% convinced when mod confirms your post wasn’t modified.

If sunny is indeed sockpuppeting... then I wish he’d put more effort into legitimately promoting the coin instead of wasting his time like this. I’ve put in a lot of work on this coin already and wanted to see this coin succeed and help it by actually doing development work on it but these antics really undermine the legitimacy of the coin.

Is mod going to post in this thread to confirm whether your post was edited?

There's a bug syncing a wallet that can't mine. Sometimes it gets stuck for minutes. I had to restart it a few times to get it to sync all the way. Also after syncing sometimes it says the checkpoint is too old. If I restart it then the message goes away.

Any one can build  win 32 bit  wallet HuhHuhHuhHuh?

It will be helpful for more users~~~

Thanks.
I'll work on it. I set up my machine to compile 64 bit and it's proven annoying to make both work at once, so I'm just gonna make a VM to compile the 32 bit version. I didn't realize people still used 32 bit computers!

a lot of people still use 32 bit
Just compiled the win32-bit wallet, fresh off the presses, tested on a fresh VM and it works!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jck5ktj49jcis7n/ShinyCoin-Qt-Win32-v0.3.0-4ed46a8c.zip

You can't mine with it, though - even if you have 15 GB of RAM free, it crashes, I tested it. But people with 32-bit windows probably won't have enough RAM anyway.

Any update on your deposits? Looks like it is processing, though slowly (9th confirmation was delayed by a few minutes):

EDIT: Ah didn't see the previous post. Looks like all is well.

What we should all understand is that running a fucking pool is not an arcane dark art and definitely should not be anybody's fucking privilege. It is for the benefit of all and the coin to have alternatives, so as to have lower pool fees, be able to compare the details etc etc.

As I said, the n00bs are about to run some pools. It will not be mandatory to use them. So, what's the big deal?

You obviously know nothing about pools and/or have never ran one. The server isn't going to pay for itself, you know. We are talking about a top of the line server that is being used exclusively for the Shinycoin pool. I am risking a lot, so ask yourself why no one else has stepped up to the game? Exactly that.
Talking about alternatives; the dev wants to try build his own pool, I have offered him tips (how to) and help. I don't mind alternate pools, just not retards running it. I'd rather have the dev run a pool than anyone else as he is invested into this coin and seems to be very capable of it.

(red) And who's gonna tell who is the retard and who is not? You?

If you or the dev had the exclusive privilege of being able to run a pool, then I'd go ahead with solo mining. You rented that server for you and not for us. If you risked too much with that server counting on the dream that you would always have the exclusivity, then you must be seriously stupid.

Let others find out themselves if running a shc pool is difficult and risky. You should not worry about that.

It's the beauty of the free market at work =). Sandor got the jump and benefited from being the only pool around. People are unhappy with the monopoly so they will start their own pools. This'll cause the pool fees to go down and will provide choice on which pool someone wants to use. All in all a great way for things to work.

I've sent them 5 shinies. If these don't get confirmed either I'll email or chat them and see what is up. Site *looks* legit, maybe they just having temporary issues with a new coin?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHC] ShinyCoin █First ever RAMHOG algo Pow/Pos █NO ASIC/GPU | Whitepaper on: July 10, 2014, 05:30:55 PM
https://coin-swap.net/ exchange seems to be a scam.

I;ve sent 400 SHC to SeYp1ba6SXbvXJByKriJYwJsWrn2Fuwtap over 1 hour ago. Block explorer sees it but not my account on swap
Maybe contact them? The site says they require 10 confirmations for shiny and your transaction has 12 so it should have gone through.

SHC is listed at Coin-Swap.net

Market
SHC/BTC

Awesome!

Wallet Internationalization - Bitcoin QT already has the ability, but as I've changed some things not everything is internationalized.  Someone needs to go through it and make it fully internationalized.  There is a web service that can make it easy, transifex.com
That seems easy enough... I'll take a look.
Alriiiight, I figured out how transifex works and I made the i18n project: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/shinycoin/ .

To translators: All you have to do is go to the link, click "Help Translate 'ShinyCoin'", make a username. I'll approve you, then you can get cracking. I'll update my git branch periodically ( https://github.com/csaftoiu/shinycoin/commits/i18n ), and make pull requests to the main repo when there's a good amount of translations done. Or sunnyprince, you can pull the files yourself also (merge my changes, then use "tx pull -a" to pull new translations).

EDIT: Can test existing translations with the -lang flag, e.g.
    ./shinycoin-qt -lang=zh_CN

This coin is dead Sad  1 asic algo and 4 GPU algos, no CPU algo .. total of 2 billion coins ?! No wonder its so cheap, i;ve got some 900k coins and cant break even if i sell all at current price...  FAIL ..
Worst client ever! Takes 2 minutes to start on an i7. 5 minutes when using -rescan arg.  Fresh install/syncing the blockchain takes longer than bitcoin...
Who the fuck are you ? Nothing fucking works, GUI wallet keeps crashing, no standalone solo miner, pools hardly get any blocks (solo instamine in progress, probably gpu farm at it).  I'm out.

This shit coin will never be added to a real exchange, poloniex owner is desperate for new business as he keeps loosng customers due to hacks so he took time to add this shit.. Mintpal ? NEVER. Cryptsy ? NEVER. goodbye monero suckers.

Funny you found that post now, i am in the process of switching all servers to monero!! Damn, i should have kept mining back in May!!!

EDIT: Maybe Shiny picks up once i leave, you never know Smiley Hopefully my bag of 110k coins will net me some profitZ Smiley
Lol nice diversionary tactic. But the proof is there - you are a sockpuppet for the dev. So what features are you going to put into ShinyCoin next?

Oh shit you're right! Haha. I thought you were just making stuff up again, cause really double-spacing is not my style. I would not have guessed I actually did it. It looks too weird to me.

You can comb through my entire post history and you wont find a single double space Smiley Interesting find as someone mentioned earlier Smiley
O really? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.msg5267476#msg5267476

Yes.. His last open source version is t16 - 3 months old. All t17 and 18 versions are closed source.  YAM PTS miner by yvg1900 - binary only, abc123 pts miner - binary, etcetc

Looks like we are all the dev =O.

"YAM PTS miner by yvg1900 - binary only" was copy/paste. that does not count Smiley

First of all, just because people share a punctuation style, doesn't mean they're the same person. Secondly... did you even look at any of my posts to see if I actually use double spaces? I'll give you a hint: I don't.

Oh you do in some posts and not in others. My conclusion is your account is run by more than one person Smiley Lets not get into that now as its not important, lets work on getting shiny into an exchange!!!
I don't do it in any posts. What's a post where I did it? And if it's not important then why'd you mention it? To up the page count? Well it's working...

Your first post here :
