I'm sure the landlord said "no".  Just a couple screws.  Should have just changed it out and replaced it when you moved as suggested above.

The key words here are "Should have". Now that you went ahead and asked for permission and have been turned down, you may be on the landlord's radar for a surprise visit one day to make sure you are not messing with his electrical system and end up burning down his rental unit. I am not commenting on if it is better to ask permission or not (it probably is), just to realize that now you may be under scrutiny simply for asking, the world is funny that way sometimes.

Haha this is true, definitely on the radar now as questions on whether mining was even legal came up when they came to do some maintenance in the unit. An adapter seems to be my best option as I'd be looking to moving to a place that would allow me to modify the outlets.

I found this from AMAZON https://www.amazon.com/NEMA-L14-30P-L6-30R-Plug-Adapter/dp/B004XWB2U8

But even though it's NEMA 14-30 it doesnt match what my receptacle looks like... Am I missing something?

I have Hynix Memory H5GC4H24AJ from an MSI Armor RX 570 running 999000000000000022559D0010DE5B4480551312B74C450A00400600750414206A8900A00200312 010112D34A42A3816
in 1500+ getting 360h/s per thread for a total of 720h/s with clocks at 1075/1900 at 0.875V in GPU-Z.

Anyone run better straps for that memory type?

This cards been a pain to get stable or even running even with the stock bios. I'm currently stable with these settings though.

I run over 30 1080(tis) and 8 VEGA and havent had this much of an issue to get a card stable and at proper hashrates. I've had samsung and elpida RX 480 cards previously and those were easy to mod and get stable.

Was shot down on the option of changing out the receptacle at the rental unit.

I have found some Nema 10-30R to L6-30P adapters but it seems that the prongs don't match even though by name it should.

Are there any websites that I should be looking at? I've tried ebay, amazon so far
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 30, 2017, 07:45:17 PM
I made it work on 5 it seems : http://prntscr.com/grm9ed

upped the virtual ram to 80. Disabled On board graphics , connected Monitor  with HDMI to GPU0.
Without Team Viewer going the hashrate is slightly higher - around 10500.
Only 4 cards accepted some change on the slider. The 5th had HBCC on, and on/off was not doing anything. On the 6th one HBCC was disabled. It was not even possible to enable it.

Sadly ... that lasted only until the first restart.
After it - we are back to 4. And I can't get em to apply any HBCC settings on at least 3 cards.

I wasn't even able to boot with 6 Vega as it would BSOD on driver install for the 6th card. I could get 5 hashing but similar results as you. 5th card has an HBCC slider but changes had no effect.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.0 on: September 29, 2017, 08:18:36 PM
Vega 56 ~1400H/s, -h 1512 -dmem 1, HBM @ 950
XMR-stak gets ~1780
Without HBCC CM gets 1200, XMR-Stak gets 1300

470 8GB 1750 strap, -mclock 2040, ~752H/s, testing stability
9.7 was like 680-700, but unstable.

For some reason 5th card won't enable HBCC, have 4GB ram, but 64GB pagefile. It won't even enable by itself Sad May need to play musical GPUs

I've had an issue with HBCC and more than 5 cards whether the 5th card is an R9, RX or Vega. I've stuck with 4 Vega and have it running with HBCC successfully. Let me know if GPU placement resolves this.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 29, 2017, 04:10:30 PM
Verified once again that adding any AMD series R9 or RX card as the 5th disables HBCC so that 3/4 Vegas hash correctly. Changing PCI-E slots multiple times did not fix the issue making me think it's not due to PCI-E slot differences.

I'll try a test with Nvidia cards to see if it's an issue with the AMD cards populating and "taking up room" in Wattman thats causing the bug.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 29, 2017, 12:41:12 AM

uh oh.
Whats your virtual memory and ram situation?

55GB Virtual Mem because I'm restricted on the SSD for room and 16GB of physical DDR3 RAM
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 29, 2017, 12:29:02 AM
The madness continues ...

HWInfo broke my system, had to reinstall the drivers and to apply mods again.
How are we supposed to do any monitoring with these s*** drivers? Any click anywhere outside the console breaks things, random timed out session of Team Viewer breaks things. This is very very f** up.
I really want to see how the hot card is working, but can't really do that with XMR STAK, as everything breaks too easy.

Anyway, I've seen ppl having issues with HBCC. I seem to have one too. Two of the cards are hashing at ~700 & 650. They had HBCC enabled before, now after the driver reinstall I can't even enable the thing.
But even enabled, I still had these 650-700 H/s on these threads, so I don't think it was actually working.
Rest seems to be OK (right now all of that is at 1800/1600). The change from 1600/1600 was a cosmetic +50-100 H/s total, so I see no point in pushing it more.

Can anyone help me solving that issue?
I have 8GB Ram, 64GB Virtual Memory, 6x RX VEGA 64 (Air).
Is 16 GB RAM going to solve this? My HBCC Slider says ~ 11666 MB. Is that the same number for you guys?

I managed to only get 4 cards with HBCC actually working. They sliders show up for the other 2 cards but changing any settings has no effect on the slider and the hashrate reflects HBCC is not working. I even added other AMD cards like an R9 290 and RX 570 later on and it dropped it to only 3 cards with HBCC working
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VEGA 64 - Cannot Enable HBCC on 2/6 cards in rig after reboot. on: September 28, 2017, 01:01:08 AM
Exact same issue, when plugged in PCI-E 1x any alteration to HBCC even though it is shown in AMD Control Center has not effect. Hash is 1300 instead of the 1900 it should reach.

I have also run into a bug that is preventing me from installing 6 Vega on a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 board.

I have substituted it for an R9 290 and the BSOD on driver installs for the 6th card have went away.

Seems like 4x Vega Rigs are trouble free though.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 28, 2017, 12:39:42 AM
There's one thing I haven't understood yet...
These regedit changes are for Vega64 only, or they also improve the Vega56 above the 1850H/s from wattman alone?

I'm unsure if I should stop the miner or not to try that out Smiley
Worst case scenario I end with my wattman problems when one gpu decides to reset to default values, but I wonder if with 64 bios and the same vega 64 values the V56 can also reach stable >1900s

I am interested to see if any of your vega 56s will make your system not boot(after registry edit), like it does to some of use unlucky ones with vega 64s.

Flashed on Vega 56 and it booted and hashed but crashed after 3 minutes.

Flashed on 4 other Vega 64 and they have been running with no issues 1408/1100 900MV softplaymod
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wiring 240V for Server PSU from 125/250V Dryer Receptacle on: September 27, 2017, 12:38:52 PM
I changed out my dryer plug to a nema L6-30P outlet. After this I could plug the APC PDU directly into it for 24 amps. This is the cleanest/safest approach as compared to using adapter plugs. IronBox sells all this stuff on their website and Amazon.

Unfortunately I can't change the outlet since it's a rental but will definitely keep this in mind for the future.

Anyone use the adapter approach though?
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 26, 2017, 01:48:07 AM
I have 5 Vega 64 running at 0.9mv with the softplay mod.

I tested with 5 Vega 64 and I can get 4 cards running at 1700h/s but that last card is still at 1300h/s

I checked the clocks and they are all identical and activated HBCC. Multi Vega rigs seem relatively unstable so far.

Running with 6 Vega 64 gets me an instant BSOD when windows attempts to boot.

Anyone successfully get a 6 Vega rig going?

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Wiring 240V for Server PSU from 125/250V Dryer Receptacle on: September 23, 2017, 10:15:32 PM
So, I was looking at adding some more eletrical capacity to my current mining 'farm' and wanted to use 2400W server PSU's wtih H110 Mobos.

I have this

https://imghost.io/image/GC13E

From my reading this is a NEMA 14-30R and I need to get an adapter to L6-30P which most PDUs use with either C13 or C14 outlets.

Does anyone have any experience with a reliable adapter for this? Also any recommendations on more fficient ways to do this?

I was hoping to not have to make any permanent changes as this is a rental unit.

Thanks in advance!
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 16, 2017, 04:03:54 PM
Yeah I can reach 44MH on small DAG coins at 130W per card with a 0.875 core voltage.

I've also hit 1500+h/s on XMR but that was on blockchain drivers. Unfortunately there's issues keeping the voltage set to anything and wattage was 220W+ per card.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: September 01, 2017, 12:51:17 AM
So I've done my reading and so far have 6 GPU rigs working flawlessly as managed miners with custom uploaded SPMOD8 on SIGT.

Now I'm looking at adding equihash and skein mining capabilities.

I have successful edited the managed miner and manually started mining equihash and skein with no issues. However, I'm looking at automating things so I can switch my rigs quickly to each algo and a specified pool.

From my understanding templates is ideal for this. Since different rigs require different intensities or custom difficulties is it advised to create multiple specialized template per rig?

Or can I create blanket template and implement custom intensities and difficulties somewhere in the managed miner's custom command line which will save per algo after applying an algo specific template.

Thanks in advance! Great piece of software so far

I'm about to make a a purchase for 10+ miners but I just want to make sure I can get everything running smoothly.

I've been able to follow some guides throughout the thread so set up custom coins from whattomine API, specifying specific miners for algos/coins as well.

Is there any dedicated support chat or group that we can leverage if we do run into issues with achieving something with the program other than the thread?
37  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] USA ASRock H110 and H81 PRO motherboards brand new on: August 16, 2017, 04:28:01 PM
Shipping cost to Niagara Falls, ON? I'd be comfortable with either paypal or BTC and would be looking at buying both.

Shipping to Niagara Falls, ON via USPS First-Class Package International Service (cheapest) is $36.50

Hmm. shipping kinda kills the deal for me. Thanks though. I'm sure it'll sell as US shipping is pretty reasonable.

Yes, I'm running 4 x 1080Ti on 1000W, pulling 180W each. No issues yet.

Currently testing intensity 26 on 1080's and 1080ti's, seems to squeeze a bit more hash

25.5 seems optimal for 1070's, 26 causes instability
