1  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TestNet Faucet (testnet.coinfaucet.eu) on: January 24, 2016, 02:07:24 AM
So its been a few hours now still no sign of the testnet coins...
2  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TestNet Faucet (testnet.coinfaucet.eu) on: January 24, 2016, 12:35:02 AM
Hey mate, thanks for the coin system, however it told me it's sent the coins and the testnet block explorers tell me the transaction can't be found. is there a bit of a delay?

To anyone asking what they are worth - they are worthless in money terms, and it is important they stay that way.

If people start selling them, then they will be worthless and the system will be reset.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too much adoption on: March 03, 2015, 10:26:30 PM
I believe the current limit is about 7 transactions per second, which gives us 604800 transactions per day, way above the current ~100000 transactions per day on the network.

Nah this has already been said a million times that this is the max transactions possible if all transactions are the smallest transaction size (a coinbase transaction).

In reality all the transactions are bigger than this allowing more like a max of 3 or 4 t/s

This reminds me of the guy who bought a UPS on trademe and wondered why it wasnt working. When he opened it up, there was a brick inside instead of a battery

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins are experimental beta software. It will be replaced. on: September 20, 2012, 09:55:47 PM
There are a lot of flaws with bitcoins, and it pioneered cryptocurrency. But do we still dial up to BBSes today? Use gopher? No, it has being replaced by the world wide web. Bitcoins will be replaced, don't put your life savings in.

All posts of this type are part of this highly clever money making scheme...

Step 1: Sell bitcoins
Step 2: Go on forum, and "discredit" bitcoins
Step 3: Observe massive price crash
Step 4: Buy back bitcoins
Step 5: Profit!?!?

Good luck buddy, you're gonna need it.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shoutout in today's epic xkcd comic on: September 20, 2012, 12:04:50 PM

Needs some additions though. Their explanation for the bitcoin island at the moment is that it references the principality of sealand  Smiley.

Wow thats mad, cos i mentioned that totally unrelated in another thread about giving money to the first nation that adopts bitcoin as its national currency! :s

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shoutout in today's epic xkcd comic on: September 20, 2012, 05:57:26 AM
I don't get all the references. I know that the one about not being sick but being well its the theme tune to "Peep show". Which is an awesome series btw
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Postcoin - Distributed mail postal system on: September 20, 2012, 01:38:51 AM
How about a system where i check the address of every letter I get on google maps.

If the address is to the left of me then I pass the letter to my left neighbor, if its to the right, then I pass the letter to my right neighbor.

If the letter was posted more than 2 weeks ago I put it in the bin

If the address on the letter is corrupted then I also put it in the bin.

What do ya reckon?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks and bitcoin on: September 16, 2012, 11:02:18 AM
Banks do two things:
1. Store large amounts of money securely.
2. Transfer money.

Bitcoin does both.

Bitcoin 100% does not do #1. You personally are the guy in charge of security of your bitcoins, just like you are in charge of your own regular wallet

#2. In a way. Bitcoin proposes the protocol for exchanging "money" (bitcoins) or "value" or whatever you want to call it. Again, this is slightly different from your point. Actual clients (or implementations) of the bitcoin protocol are a means of transferring the bitcoins

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: September 10, 2012, 12:09:23 PM
Really this bitcoin experiment is showing us that we need some sort of system where by we pay 20% to the government for services like policing etc and a small percentage to the banks for handling transactions so we dont get scammed.

Brilliant
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about DDoS (Denial of Service) to sites that don't accept bitcoin? on: September 09, 2012, 08:33:37 AM
What about DDoS (Denial of Service) to sites that don't accept bitcoin?
I am against such but if bitcoin is better than sex, why not?
Well...

Step 1. Find out about Bitcoin
Step 2. Suggest something that might appeal to greedy Bitcoiners no matter how ridiculous
Step 3. Forget to add lame signature begging for money.
Step 4. Add lame signature lamely by adding it as a copy pasta to the bottom of every post.
Step 5. Fail.
