SC's still around!?

ha ha ha

Don't know how but it is. Oh king, what shall your users do now? I thought you made a coin more secure than bitcoin. Ooops, guess not.

I have upgraded to RC5 0.5 XP SP 3.  I have encrypted the wallet. How do I know if it worked for sure?
5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Poolserverj WORKMAKER EDITION RELEASED - 0.4.0rc1 on: November 14, 2011, 04:33:02 PM
Has anyone tested this out for litecoin?

I've gotten it to work with bitcoin just fine. In fact, even had it work with namecoin merged mining. Looks like it is pushing good work for merged mining.

However, the Scrypt doesn't look like it works right. First problem I run into, is the payout address. It bombs automatically when I put in a litecoin address. It wants a bitcoin address regardless. I go ahead with a bitcoin address just to see if I can get it to work, and I get a no valid work found return back from both the miner and the web URL.

I've changed the hashing type to Scrypt. Change the name to litecoin. Updated RPC ports and usernames. Then set the merged chains to "". What did I miss? Or am I the first to try this on the Scrypt chains?

One other thing I tried was turning off local work generation. When I do that, it freaks out and says that difficulty target is bad.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pushpool - Tech Support on: November 08, 2011, 12:05:46 AM
Guys,

I can't find a valid share (YAY!!!) even using minerd with Litecoind (solo mining)...
This is because I'm too small?!

Thanks!
Thiago

Try testnet first?

God one!! lol
I'll   :-P

Testnet should make it easier to get a share, of course. What do you have the artificial difficulty set at? Set it to 8 bits and you'll find several every second. If you are running it at BTC difficulty 1, you'll never find a share that way.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] ! First Live, working, wonderful LiteCoin Pool! LTC! >1 Mhash on: November 04, 2011, 01:58:14 PM
Well, after like 3 weeks of uptime straight, I wanted to push the latest block lock in through that coblee announced. You guys might have seen like 30 seconds of down time while I restarted pushpool and litecoin.

Not sure how much the lockin will help, a huge amount of power has been added to LTC outside of the pools but it is adding to the chain not trying to do an alt chain. Nice that LTC is that much more secure!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You cannot really compare SolidCoin to Bitcoin/Litecoin anymore on: October 26, 2011, 02:15:50 PM
If you "underestimated" the number of miners, that means there are people getting access to coins, not less.  All this does is make the early adopters get a MASSIVE boost in what their mining was worth compared to new miners.

Well duh... how is he supposed to get rich unless he makes his millions of coins worth more? BTC, FBX, and LTC don't have that problem. Too bad FPX is kind of abandoned. LTC & BTC FTW.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] ! First Live, working, wonderful LiteCoin Pool! LTC! >1 Mhash on: October 26, 2011, 02:11:23 PM
Wrong algo... Should be scrypt...

Aha. That would explain a lot Smiley
Unfortunately, scrypt isnt one with this miner, so I guess I need another one...
Still Im getting some accepted shares?
LOL how is 'some' possible?

P4man, I went through millions of shares and prior to your post, you didn't submit any valid shares with a format not scrypt Cheesy

The announcement I wanted to let everyone know of was our pool has found over 100,000 LTC!!! Quite a big number! Thanks to everyone who made this such a success.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 19, 2011, 07:03:57 PM

Please friend, don't have penis envy. Just make your pool better and make people use yours....

Is that what your 5% fee is for? Penis enlargement? This is just a rhetorical question, please keep your smart-ass answers to yourself.

5% fee.. i just dont get it.. so many other pools at 0%

There were only two things our pool fee was used for. 1 was to convince people to go to the other inferior pools. The second, was to pay for some of the dedicated server costs. If you think pool fee covers this your head doesn't work straight.

Now there is a third reason. Eskimo, wknight, or g2x I will donate towards your penis surgery so you feel much better about yourself. YYour other little man syndrome feel goods aren't working good enough. Eskimo, I'm sorry if you only have 1khash to send at a pool. I will buy you an AMD CPU if penis surgery is too scary for you.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 05:55:04 PM
Now it has .91 and the pool rates still haven't changed. I said before, I fixed my hash rate. It's fixed. So settle down unless you're mining on mine. That would be real embarrassing since you run your own.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 05:51:05 PM
Unknown now has .57 and the pools rates have hardly changed. I think it's the way the charts is calculating total network power. Add them all up and it is almost 1 mhash lower than allchains.info
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 05:44:03 PM
true might be problem with that chart anyway its pulling from your api/site ... i havent checked up on if they report what chart says but meh Smiley

and that your pool solved 20 blocks in one hour thats pretty easy to calc was there only 40 blocks in that hour ?... wich hour ? Smiley

and unknown is solo miners + unknown pools seems unlikely to only be ,15

and it seems chart is catching up its .21 now or your pool started making more sense .... yours is only pool with variance to cause it

so why is it i shuld do the math ? Smiley you could put just a tiny piece of math here to proove you where right Smiley instead of just trowing out been 20 blocks in random hr

35 network blocks, my pool found 20 of them:

How does your pool calculate hash rates? Mine is based on the number of shares submitted. That fluctuates. If half the network has a lucky period, that chart will fluctuate. Yes.

Please friend, don't have penis envy. Just make your pool better and make people use yours. It really won't hurt my feelings. I put up the pool because no one else had immediate plans to. Now I do it because it is fun. Mining solo I hit getinfo non stop to find a block. Now that I run a pull I execute Select * from PoolBlocks Order By BlockNumberId. I probably do as many sql queries on the database as the miners do!!
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 05:35:49 PM
And FYI, we publish every TXID on the LTC that we solve. You're more than welcome to do the same. Then the charts could do a 24/7 effective hashrate. Would be much more accurate if you would be involved in that.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 05:32:18 PM
its not quite fixed wannnaB .... Smiley take a look at http://litecoin.kicks-ass.org/graphs/graphs.html

unknown (time of writeing) is -0,04 and your pool over half the network ... right

iam running pool-x ... it cant be that hard to get bit math right if you wanna be hacker

At the time of writing, we have 1.1 Mhash.

At the time of writing, that chart says we have 1.35 Mhash. That chart isn't correct.

At the time of writing, uknown has .15.

My pool solved 20 blocks during a one hour period. Is that more or less than 1 / 2 of the network? Help me with the math since you are so much better at it.

Do some pretty numbers on the site mean you solve more or less blocks? Blocks solved speak for themselves. All the other pretty ribbons and fancy bells mean nothing.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC pools on: October 18, 2011, 03:49:27 PM
I am really happy to see the Litecoin pools up.. though I would like to make a couple comments to the pool ops.

First... Stability... I have been on two pools just testing out network speed and been dropped off by the pool going down.

Second.. fix your stats. It takes a day to fix most pool stats right now. Be sure to have backups for quick fallback.. no reason a page should be messed up for hours.

Third... Get yourself a domain name or something more concrete. You want to run your pool from your house.. fine. but some of us would like something connected 99.9% of the time.

I know these stats are not totally correct on the pie. Specially litecoinpool .. the numbers are all over the board.

I assume #3 is a cheap shot at my pool at http://184.107.145.244  It has a dyndns address if you prefer something you can remember. Otherwise hit CTRL+B in your browser.

But, who is running out of their house? I doubt any of the LTC pools are. Check out the IP in whois. This is running on a dedicated server with a 1 gig pipe. Not some home connection. Look at the server load. Low. And a load average off of top: load average: 0.05, 0.09, 0.08

My pool isn't dropping any users. If any of the other pools need help with some ideas to get this more reliable, feel free to PM me.

my fricken comcast cable modem is more then a 1 gig pipe Tongue

Honestly my shot to you was your numbers.. as i posted.. they are all over the board.. .. fix em  Tongue

I want to see your speedtest.net screen shot showing you have a 1 gig connection from comcast. That is completely unbelievable.

Numbers are fixed son. Go check them out. The problem was when the round reset I wasn't pulling the last time from the DB for the calculation. I was just using a standard 5 minute time stamp. Updated and nice and pretty now.

So, 2 and 3 were at me. Two is fixed, and three is your personal preference. It's not hosted at home, and as I mentioned before, I doubt anyone elses is. Ozcoin has or is working on getting a second dedicated server. This is industrial level equipment.

Started to get too many "0 shares" blocks.
Moved.

Huh? How much hashing power are you bringing? When it says we took less than 0 minutes to solve a block, that means it was less than 30 seconds because 30 seconds gets rounded up to a minute.

Sometimes we only find 10 shares for those blocks. You moved to another pool because you didn't find 1 share in a couple of seconds?

What about the times you find a share and you get 5 coins for a single share? Average it out friend. I am not forcing anyone to stay though. There are plenty of people that love seeing the coins come fast and the bonus once in a while when they get a few good short ones in a row. Last night we had a lot of luck - hope you hadn't moved yet.

Pool stats confusing KH/s with MH/s or is my miner lying? Im getting ~1400KH/s per core according to my miner. That almost as much as the entire pool reportedly gets  Huh

Is that your miner software telling you that or the website? If it's your software, something is wrong. Are you sure it's not 1.4k, not 1400 k? If it's the software, PM me your username and let me see if I can see what's going on. You're right though, pool is at 1.5 Mhash and it's not all you that's for sure.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] ! First Live, working, wonderful LiteCoin Pool! LTC! >1 Mhash on: October 17, 2011, 07:20:23 PM
Hey, is anyone else getting a lot of 403 errors on the pool's website?

On the website or from the miner?

From the miner means you are using a bad username and password. It is your whole LTC address that you signed up with, an underscore, the number one, colon, and the number one.

RE: Indian languages. My understanding is most indians know or can hack their way through Hindi. Telegu is the only dialect I can give you some more smart ass things in.

Very funny you got so much angry for my post.
I didn't sent PM coz i recovered password myself.

Their is NO info to PM TO WHOM in your pool. I checked faq which DIDN'T says to "PM wannaBhacker", coz he is the owner of the pool.
You added contact us after i posted & there too, you only mentioned to contact this thread & never mentioned that if needed "pm to WANNABHACKER"
I am mining in your pool also. you can check that too.
Have some patience before replying.
Its true you are the first one to create a pool for mining Litecoin.
It doesn't mean you have to get anger for not mentioning whom to PM in the site itself, just giving thread link & also not mentioning your name ANYWHERE IN YOUR OWN POOL ITSELF.

First GET COURAGE to put at least your forum name in YOUR OWN POOL ITSELF, then you can say i am trolling.

You just have 76 posts that too after you created this thread & you registered on June 2011 only.
While i have registered more than 10 months back & you can read ALL MY POSTS which is around 950 & can find in which of my posts i TROLLED ABOUT ANYONE OR ANYTHING then you can use word FUCK , BULLSHIT.....
I too know English some what.

Let's get this straight:

1. You forgot your password.
2. You remembered your password.
3. You posted that you forgot your password but were mad that I didn't have a telephone number for you to call.4
4. You don't realize that the person starting a thread about his pool would be the person to PM.

My friend, there is no reason to be upset. Your posts are coming across as trolling. I think it may just be in the translation though.

घबड़ाओ मत
and
बकवास बंद करो

Cheesy

and maybe this you do not know. Using ALL UPPER LETTERS means you are yelling. Which is what you did in your first post friend.
