122  Economy / Goods / Re: Where to buy suits & shirts using Bitcoin? on: October 12, 2017, 08:22:13 PM

What's up with his legs ? This is the creepiest thing i have seen today, by far.

Looks like a well dressed version of slender man. Not very appealing but these suits looks good though .

123  Economy / Goods / Re: Can I use cryptocurrency logos/icons on a product I manufacture without issues? on: October 12, 2017, 07:45:44 PM
No problem with Bitcoin.

Look, some financial terrorists even managed to create a shitcoin-alt using Bitcoin logo and brand reputation.    Ever heared of Bitcoin Cash ?

I think you're in the wrong sub-forum, though.

124  Economy / Goods / Re: :P I'm selling a house in Milan (Italy) for 60 bitcoins, its 100% legit! on: October 12, 2017, 07:37:35 PM
900€/Monthly rent for a 230,000€ property sounds fair, that's what i would get if i were to rent my place which is around 230K too.

You're talking about a residential neighbourhood, are there any AirBNB listings close to it ?
Depending on the neighbourhood/city, that can easily double your monthly income, that's a factor to take into consideration.

I'm launching an Bitcoin Art &Luxury marketplace by the end of the month, i'm looking for real estate and would like to consider listing your place, but i would need at least some pictures lol.
125  Economy / Goods / Re: BITCOIN abstract ART and paintings on: October 12, 2017, 07:09:29 PM
I like that !

I'm launching an Art & Collectibles marketplace dedicated the Bitcoin community by the end of the month,  i'm currently looking for Bitcoin Artists.

I would like to list your paintings if that's fine with you.

@++,

Matt.

Too bad you're in a hurry.

I'm launching an Art &Luxury marketplace for the Bitcoin Elite by the end of the month, i would have loved to list your car.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vocabulary on: October 08, 2017, 12:53:20 PM
HODL : This one is quite easy but you will come across it quite often.

Coin  ( Bitcoin, Dash, Litecoin )  : An independent crypto currency, meaning it has its own blockchain ( = big decentralized ledger, you might want to google this one )
Token ( Golem, Status, Adex are tokens issued based on the Ethereum blockchain ) : A sub-coin, meaning that it was issued based on the blockchain of another coin.

HODLING/Holdingis the act of buying a coin or a token and just do nothing with it, in the hope that its value will increase.

Some Bitcointalk member started a thread years ago misspelling "holding" while he was drunk, last thing we know it quickly became a meme ( just google image HODL ) .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=375643.0

You might want to avoid using that especially if you're new to this industry, since it's mostly used by kids and "low grade noobs" and can be quite annoying.

Welcome by the way

Quote
or maybe someday in our country they granted bitcoins in paying debt in credits cards.

What do you mean you can't pay credit card debts in Bitcoin ?

Can't you just convert to FIAT and then pay your debts ?

I'm not sure i understand the stakes here.

131  Other / New forum software / Re: Can we implement this feature to make Bitcointalk more secured against scammers? on: October 04, 2017, 04:35:33 PM
Wow, this is just wrong.

I understand that comes from a good intention but this is not the role of neither the mods or btctalk team to evaluate whether the goal of an ICO has been achieved or not.
Plus as VOD said, that % fee will be seen by scammers as another cost of doing "business", in addition of luring newbies into thinking Bitcointalk vouched for the advertised/escrowed ICO's.
Not to mention that would give way too much power and room for corruption to anyone in charge of vouching/evaluating these projects.

Monitoring ICO's is a full time job, and as you said there are a LOT of them out there, some looks scammy, some looks legit, but at the end of the day learning how to spot a scam is your job as an investor.

No one  can protect you against your own mistakes/lack of research.

What you could do as an individual is developing an ICO rating service, we do need more of these and any additional one would be greatly appreciated.
132  Other / New forum software / Re: Beta.bitcointalk.org is back to work on: October 04, 2017, 04:18:35 PM
I believe back in 2014/2015 i read that at least  $1,000,000 worth of bitcoins were donated by the community for the development of a new version of Bitcointalk ( can't remember the name of the thread )  and this is the result after all those years and money "invested"  ?

I won't even say anything.

133  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: October 04, 2017, 03:16:13 PM
i made 1000% return over a few years thanks to Bitcoin only, but that's an investment. Not a single Satoshi is to spent in bullshit or worse, converted to fiat, ever.

Now, i'm not getting rich of that, but i i decided to allow a small fraction of this capital to daytrading/investing : of course alt-trading is risky, but holding alts is even riskier since you're basically letting it go and giving up control of your investment to the markets.

However, when it comes to trading, there are quite a lot of useful knowledge and information to be learned that you could minimize that risk with, such as defining strategies by learning how to read charts RSI, MACD,  William R, knowing when to get out of a pump, following the right accounts on twitter and so on.

Granted, this is a full time job that takes some mental discipline and a lot of capital to start with for it to be worth your time, financially-wise.

Like a lot of people here, i have been smart or crazy enough to go all-in with Bitcoin years ago, so i can make about 3/4% daily returns (which by crypto standards is very conservative) trading alts and be happy with it.

Thanks to the recent surge in BTC/USD, that translates into hundreds of dollars a day without having to take much risks : i'm not looking to make a big score, i never went to sleep with an opened trade, always cashed out my positions to BTC before going to sleep and i'm proud to say i never had to sell at a loss.

I trade 5 / 10 days a month so i don't have to get a nine to five. I guess i won't buy a Lambo out of that anytime soon but i don't care since Bitcoin allowed me to enjoy the #1 non-renewable resource money can't buy : time.

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Giveaway threads are not allowed on: October 04, 2017, 02:24:03 PM
Giveaways still are a major drive for people coming here, I am new here but it seems the community is
pretty friendly here and all my friends just signed up because they are interested in mining and airdrops.

I am wondering why such a well known bitcoin forum doesn't have a better UI though.

Cheers.

Because some moron(s) stole the money that was supposed to fund the new version of Bitcointalk.

I remember very clearly back in 2014 ( even though i forgot which thread i read that in ) that a lot of money was donated for the very purpose of improving Bitcointalk UI/UX.

We're talking about at least $1,000,000 worth of Bitcoin back when that money was donated, so after deflation one could assume that this number might easily be 10x higher by now.

Worst thing is, time i checked, no one was ever held accountable for that theft, and Bitcointalk still looks like it was stuck in 2008.

Don't get me wrong, i'm a nostalgic, i like SMF/PHP boards, but a lot of money was definitely stolen from this community, this is not Ok and something should be done about it.
Edit there seems to be a beta version of Bitcointalk 2.0 but it is terrible and looks like garbage so i assume this must be some kind of joke https://beta.bitcointalk.org

Ps : Banning giveaway thread is a moronic decision and i'll be vocal about it until the day i die, so please create a subforum for these otherwise i'll have to take this matter into my own hands.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJwaBkjrsEI

136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Giveaway threads are not allowed on: September 29, 2017, 11:21:17 AM
Not allowing giveaway threads is a dumb f*****g idea.
At least create a sub-forum for it.

There are both offer and demand for shitcoin giveaways because guess what, sometimes people get lucky.

I got very lucky last month when i found out i still had lots of Stellar lumens from their 2014 giveaway.

Please fix that quickly. Huh

138  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why don’t you change your company location to another country? on: September 24, 2017, 01:16:37 PM
Stripe ( payment solution ) recently started the "Atlas" program for startups.

For a flat fee ( around $500 last time i asked them ) they will set up a company in Delaware for you.
If you need more, they have all the contacts you need ( legal, accounting etc. ).

https://stripe.com/atlas

You should really check out their video presentation, it's about a young girl from Egypt starting a clothing business in Delaware  without actually leaving home.
 https://youtu.be/1WxV-ellcKk

Right now they're only providing US / Delaware companies but they said they would extend their program to quite a few more countries over the next years, definitely something to follow.

If you're an EU resident, it's pretty fast ( few hours at best ) and cheap ( to set up a company in England (although it might get trickier since the Brexit etc... )   without leaving home thanks to companies like these https://www.rapidformations.co.uk/compare-packages/ with "Non-Resident package starting at 180$.

Ireland ( where all the big tech companies have their European HQ ) is quite popular too since the Brexti thing, however setting up a company over there is more expensive and complex so you might need a lawyer for this one.

I believe Estonia offers digital citizenship and easy company formations.

Anyways, just don't get fooled by these "Offshore company" ads popping up everywhere, 99% of the time they will trick you into paying 5000$ for a 500$ service. Always look TrustPilot reviews before making a final choice.

PS :  In Europe and in most parts of the world ( at least in France )  owning or forming a offshore company company without actually living there is perfectly legal, as long as you pay taxes as an individual and a citizen of your country of residence.

------

In some cases, paying almost 0% taxes is technically possible. : if you decided for instance, to move to Cyprus and become a Cypriot resident, while collecting money from a company you formed in Hong Kong, which is quite a popular cocktail.

But IMO, that's borderline greed and it requires to relocate, and to somehow say f*** off to you home country, since you won't be a contributing citizen anymore.

Personally, i would not go that far as to relocate both me and my company abroad, i love my nation and i'm fine contributing my fair share and living there.

However, if the state were to enforce laws or regulations that were to violate or diminish my rights and freedoms as an entrepreneur for political reasons ( making BTC illegal, cracking down on exchanges to please the Banks, etc. ) i would not hesitate a single second to leave.

Lol whatever you do, just DONT buy into Enigma ICO... Team just got their site +Slack hacked (sSo they say ) ... : apparently these geniuses were using same passwords for both, without 2FA obviously.

Looks like hackers switched Enigma ICO wallet addresse with their own.

140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Giveaway threads are not allowed on: June 30, 2017, 01:46:59 AM
This is a piece of s***
Those new giveaways are basically just "contests" where you "win" prizes.

I'm glad those are banned, however giving away FREE coins for the simple sake of it was a good thing since it encouraged creativity, and i am developing a website to bring it back and centralize it.

Anyone interested feel free to PM me.
