101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: October 20, 2017, 12:39:43 AM
Someone just asked me today, would it be a good idea to invest in bitconnect?

Just reading a few pages back, I wouldn't suggest to  a friend to invest money in here.

It does smell like Ponzi to me. There's so much valid projects out there, better off investing in something else!

Come back in December and touch your heart and tell me if what you said now still valid in December.
In December the coins should be around usd 200.

Remember Bitcoin is ponzi to far more people.
Respectable and influential people have already pointed out Bitcoin as ponzi.
Why the hell are you here in crypto?

Dude you should be listening to this guy. Why would you even compare Bitcoin to that thing ?

This coin sounds and looks like pure garbage, mostly retards invest in it, just have a look on YouTube. If you can't see that, maybe you're one of them.

I don't care how much it's worth or how much it's pumped ATM.

I'm sure nobody here remembers Auroracoin or any other overhyped and overpumped coins that made it to the Top 10 of CoinMarketCap back in 2014 because lots of you probably discovered crypto last month on YouTube and probably don't even know how to differentiate an actual project from a piece of shit.

I mean look at this guy lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsOBglLht8A

Words to the wise : remember Auroracoin : Back in 2014 smart people did their research, read whitepapers and invested in low cap low price slowly rising coins serving actual purposes, Ethereum back at 1$, Monero 3$, Darkcoin/Dash 4$ etc...

Retards went for overhyped overpumped 80$ fast growing cap coins such as "Auroracoin cryptocurrency for Island."

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/auroracoin/

At the end of the day, lots of idiots thought they were smart and ended up holding the bags  Aurora went from 0 to 100 to 0 while ETH, Dash and Monero are now history.

There are a lot of game changing projects  out there, this is an overpumped piece of shit at best, ponzi at worst.   Current cap & value relying on dumb noob money and serving NO actual purpose.

At least the NEO people know what they're talking about for the most part and they seem to have a functionning brain.

102  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Art & Luxury marketplace looking for collaborators & vendors. on: October 17, 2017, 03:26:41 PM
Thanks everyone, this is greatly appreciated.

Right now i'm working overnight trying to convince individual vendors and merchants that i'm not running a scam operation lol.

You would not believe how much shit some people gave me when I tried to approach them, especially those involved in the high-end / luxury market.

Obviously Bitcoin has come a long way when it comes to bad publicity, and even though people are getting more open to it, one cannot fail to observe that mainstream opinion still associates Bitcoin with crime, money laundering and scam operations.

There is still a lot of education and demystification work to do and frankly I'm doing my fair share everyday, have been for years.

Anyway there are some pretty neat stuff coming in, great art, wines for investing and collecting etc... All from reputable and trusted vendors, so stay tuned.

These decentralized marketplaces have major potential for penetrating and disrupting mainstream commerce channels, and they already enabling people to move in and out of their cryptocurrency. The key to their success though is packaging up all the blockchain technology in a user-friendly and streamlined user experience. Interesting project, i will follow the project closely. Good luck

I will have to agree on that observation to some extent.
I remember trying OpenBazar beta years ago, even for a tech-savy person like I am, man that was a weird experience...

I love decentralized architectures as proofs of concept, however when it comes to regular e-commerce ( ie ; not drugs ... ) aiming for mainstream consumer adoption I think they are an overkill, at least for the time being.

Let's face it, the main problem traditional e-commerce marketplaces like eBay faces could be summarized in PayPal and their ridiculous fees, arbitrary chargebacks, account freezings, absurd item restrictions and ridiculous discriminatory policies when it comes to country restrictions, especially in developing countries.

This has has been solved a long time ago with borderless censorless decentralized cryptocurrencies, we just need to find more uses to them and that's what i'm trying to do !

 Cheers.

103  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin Art & Luxury Marketplace : Already +200 items, looking for new vendors. on: October 15, 2017, 12:40:25 PM
Good afternoon !

As stated in the title, we have developed a Cryptocurrency-Only marketplace dedicated to Arts & Luxury.

You might have noticed that Bitpremier.com closed its doors a few weeks ago, leaving behind a void that we are hoping to fill.

We are currently looking for Art & Collectibles,  real estate, wine and prestige car owners and vendors as well as artists and designers from all around the world ( professional merchants as well as individual artists/creators

Obviously, as we evolve and make some money there will be bounties and rewards for small things such as Bitcointalk signatures, blog posts, social media communication as well as a commission system and positions to fill in what we believe is a promising project.
Since we're hoping to make an open, transparent and borderless community out of this, any help is welcomed wherever you come from and whatever your skills are.

I won't go into details here, but we have been collaborating for months with few Art galleries and Luxury shops in Paris, France as well as Bitcoin-Friendly artists from all around the globe.
We should be opened for business by the end of this month.

Feel free to PM me if you're interested in being a part of this Wink

Enjoy your day,

Matt.
104  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMG Mercedes ICO SCAM on: October 15, 2017, 10:52:21 AM

Ps : if you dont mind, where did you find this ?

It was an advert I think with Mercedes AMG plastered all over it, I thought at first it was them trying to take on redbull LOL

I'm sure there will be similar projects !

Tech ICO's market is overly saturated, and most of them are producing technologies that are very promising however far too advanced for 2017 .

On the other hand, i would like to see more ICO's for consumer good/products with actual everyday use such as energy drinks, cars, fashion etc...   Time will tell i guess.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kenneth Rogoff, former IMF economist says "Bitcoin price will collapse" on: October 14, 2017, 10:02:28 PM
AML and KYC regulations should be present and followed by all exchanges, and it could be a way to prevent illicit activities from happening, but not preventing it completely.

What a terrible statement.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why do you think satoshi nakamoto kept his identity as a secret? on: October 14, 2017, 08:09:47 PM
Satoshi is most certainly a dude going by the name of Nick Szabo, an american cryptographer and computer scientist.

I mean, he invented the term "Smart Contract" then theorized and designed Bit Gold back in 1998.

What was Bit Gold ?

A peer to peer network where participants would dedicate computer power to solve cryptographic puzzles, solved puzzles would be sent a byzantine fault-tolerant public registry and assigned to the public key of the solver.

Does that ring a bell ?

Obviously he denied it on multiple occasions, and chances are he's dead by now lol.

107  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we totally eliminate all the banks in this world? on: October 14, 2017, 03:04:27 PM
Jesus...  Of course we can, and quickly.

Consider the VC industry : it got rekt by ICO's in a matter of months.  Numbers talked, money talked.  It's over for the big guys.

Who the hell in their right mind would consider giving away 40% equity in their startup to some fat lazy shark like Mark Cuban in exchange for a grotesque 100k investment in their company when they can raise that money through an ICO in a matter of hours without any paperwork while keeping 100% equity ?

http://www.wired.co.uk/article/initial-coin-offerings-on-the-blockchain-are-disrupting-venture-capital

We're about to witness a tsunami of massive disruptions in the financial system, banks will be the first victims : even if they survive, they will be disrupted beyond recognition in a matter of years.

Another financial crisis like the one we saw in 2008 and you kiss the banks goodbye and say hello to a $500k Bitcoin global gold standard.
108  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMG Mercedes ICO SCAM on: October 14, 2017, 02:54:39 PM
Well...

Since bad ICO's / obvious scam are the rule, It would be way quicker and easier to list the good ones, since they are exception.

Unfortunately there are so much of them out there that it would be impossible to keep an updated list, there are ICO rating websites but most of them just ask the ICO teams for bitcoin bribes so they can write paid good reviews, so even that i wouldnt trust.

So at the end of the day, that's your money thus your responsability as an investor to manage it wisely and your research on your own, which you did !

Ps : if you dont mind, where did you find this ?
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: October 14, 2017, 02:43:07 PM
You should be glad, chances are you'd have lost them, have them stolen by MtGox or even cashed out at 5$ by now anyway.

Then you'd have a reason to be angry.  The bicoin pizza guy has a reason to be angry.

I had the chance to buy Bitcoins on a Bulletin Board back in 2009 before any kind of exchanges or official price even existed, we're talking about 5000 BTC for 50 dollars, that was the rate back then.

However i didnt consider it for a second, looked pretty scammy to me, had no interest in the tech since Bitcoin had ( and still has ) a pretty unattractive branding imo.

Plus the only way to get them was through PayPal, which was another red flag for me back then, not to mention "Bitcoin" had no company or any form of official website, and since i was used to E-Gold and stuff like that, i never cared to do more research.

110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Coming Fork(s) Safety For BItcoins on: October 14, 2017, 02:30:24 PM
These Bitcoin clones are f****g disgusting.

This is textbook financial terrorism, if anything this is what will bring Bitcoin to its knees.

It's not even about complexity for users, it's about brand parasitism and using bitcoin fame against its value without any kind of legitimacy.

Now of course what kind of greedy idiot wouldn't want free money ? Whoever is behind those Bitcoin clones, they found a weak spot in people's greed.

At the end of the day, this is going to hurt bitcoin more than anything ever attempted by its ennemies, mark my words this will bring Bitcoin down, eventually.

111  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMG Mercedes ICO SCAM on: October 14, 2017, 02:16:39 PM
   Looks like shit indeed.

Pretty imaginative scam however poorly executed Mr. Protsenko, a simple whois request gave your name up.

I found out a Pavel Protsenko on linkedin, looks like he has something to do with computer softwares however i won't go too far with speculations, could very well be an homonym and i would not want to get anyone in trouble.

You're in the wrong subforum so i doubt anyone would respond, no ICO's here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJwaBkjrsEI

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end? on: October 13, 2017, 09:14:01 AM
Bitcoin will never end unless we don't have connection anymore.

Actually this problem is already being solved :

Some guys in the Netherlands already started working on a way to send bitcoin through radio waves.

 https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoiners-finland-send-cryptocurrency-radio/

One possible threat would be Quantum Computing.

"How i cornered the Bitcoin market using a quantum computer"   ( This is a bit of a clickbait, since everything is theoretical but it gives you a glimpse of what we should expect when it comes to creating quantum computing proof blockchain networks.

https://hackernoon.com/how-i-cornered-the-bitcoin-mining-market-using-a-quantum-computer-9e5dceba9f92
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main problem for mass-adoption? on: October 13, 2017, 09:01:46 AM
What if the main selling-sites would sell mBTC instead of BTC?

1 mBTC = 5$ (there would be, imo a lot more buyers)
than
1 BTC = 5'000$

That idea has been floated more than once, i like it but it raises more problem than it solves ( overcomplification, large scale agreements with wallet devs, exchanges and platforms, massive and costly info campaigns etc ).

If people could just stop creating shitcoin-alts Bitcoin clones like bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, bitcoin red, bitcoin blue, bitcoin silver that would be a good start, i can't tell you how many retarded comments i've had from most of my non-Btc friends when the so called "fork" occurred this summer.
I had to do A LOT of education to get people right on track from the media FUD ( at my small level ) .

So for a start, maybe we should stop giving credit to these P.O.S. ( pieces of shit not proof of stake ) clones of Bitcoin and call them out for what they really are : Cypto-financial acts terrorism and textbook brand parasitism, but since none of the Bitcoin material is copyrighted, they can just keep getting away with it.

These people are financial criminals and should be shot in the head, they are no better than Madoff , Richard Fuld or Greenspan in my book.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no role in real world on: October 13, 2017, 08:51:03 AM
OP Sounds like Jamie Dimon , obviously mentally challenged and has no clue what he's talking about.

Probably thinks Mark Karpeles was Bitcoin CEO.

Nice troll bait indeed, but that's about it. You managed to slightly irritate me even though i just woke up to a $5700 Bitcoin.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC hit $5600+ on: October 13, 2017, 08:33:32 AM
Holy f***ng shit. thats true.
I thought you were clickbaiting here.

I went to bed 8 hours ago with a 5000$ Bitcoin. and woke up to a 5732+ Btc.

Expect a very bad day for alt-coins, too bad i'm still holding lot of these.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a sign??? on: October 13, 2017, 08:29:54 AM
Malta is a very friendly place for Shady Forex platforms. Has been for years.

They do not tax offshore revenues, meaning you're able to set-up a company in Hong Kong ( that does not apply VAT for foreign operations ) and declare revenues from that company to yourself as an individual or a company in Malta, hence paying near to zero taxes.

So this is a very convenient way for European Citizens who chose to live there, since Malta happens to have very low income tax on individuals and companies.

If i had to guess i'd say some  wealthy crypto/trader/entrepeneur had money to spent after a big score.

Even though i'd prefer to think the Maltese government / mayor put that here to attract Crypto-entheusiasts.

Pretty intriguing indeed.
