1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Maidsafe Wallet on: June 21, 2017, 11:54:51 PM
anyone got any updates if there is a web wallet for maidsafe?

You can use Omniwallet: https://www.omniwallet.org/

I hope to participate in further information about paper wallet

Just create a Bitcoin paper wallet and send your coins to it. That's all there is to it.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 18, 2017, 08:41:48 AM
The best strategy is to diversify your investments; don't put all of your eggs into one basket. As it is your life savings invested into BTC, you need to think long and hard about how much risk you're willing to take and how much you can afford to lose.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will the next correction/dip be? on: June 07, 2017, 10:27:22 PM
We're experiencing an amazing growth to almost $3000,- today, but we all know that it will have some corrections here and there.

How much do you think it will drop? <$2000,-? $2000-$2500?
or maybe $2500-$3000,-

I think it'll dip down to between $2100 and $2300.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MaidSafe undervalued? on: June 04, 2017, 03:06:27 PM
Total supply is like 450,000,000 so it may not be as undervalued. Also remember that this project has been on development for ages. We were supposed to get the final Safecoin transition and finally be able to hold coins locally.

As far as I know local wallets don't even exist yet so basically you have to rely on Poloniex to hold which is stupid.

You can store Maidsafecoin in a Bitcoin address. I still have mine from the crowdsale in a paper wallet.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MaidSafe undervalued? on: June 04, 2017, 01:50:12 PM
Most of the coins we've seen pumped in recent days have little, if any, substance to them. Prices are driven mostly by speculation and whales manipulating the markets rather than real-life usefulness. If Maidsafe is able to put out a viable decentralized Internet, which is no small feat, then expect prices to increase by an order of magnitude.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 28, 2017, 10:39:20 PM
Has anybody more insights on why the Safecoin price is controlled so much?
For months there has been very strong market shaping on Poloniex with alternating large buy & sell walls preventing any major action to either side. Also, this is all going on very indirectly and the walls are never placed aggressively so they seem only to be used to push the market slightly to the other direction in order to unload a bit of the market maker's position or whatever.
Am I paranoid?

I did not observe this kind of behavior with many other coins.

I recall there was a post about a year ago that discussed Maidsafe's intention to slowly sell off some of the foundation's coins in order to continue funding the project. Not sure if they went that route or not, but could it possibly explain why the price doesn't seem to move strongly in either direction? Otherwise, I'd assume there's some whales with a lot of coins manipulating the price.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 28, 2017, 03:18:46 PM
Could someone confirm that MaidSafeCoins is actually in partnership with NVO.io? Its a new project launching that works inside the Safenetnetwork, It looks very promising but I'm not sure If I should invest or not as I don't know the team and I can't find If MaidSafe confirmed or spoke about this.

Here you go:

Quote
We have only one partner that we have signed up with right now, that is maidsafe asia. The logo is new and we are looking at signing up more partners, so this use of the logo surprised us a bit here. We don't want to be seen endorsing projects at the moment, but we can support them if possible. This one is a really important and needed element of the network and crypto space though. I don't want to promote projects too much but do want to say "hey that's brilliant, good luck". So we need to be careful. Coinpayments though is a group we know and have worked with and I would consider them partners, but we have no formal relationship there either, but I work with and trust those guys.

It's an area we need to clean up. In crypto I get concerned with partnerships as people talk, release statements about deals and there is no substance, look at all the project X partners with microsoft, or government Y partners with project Z, most of them are just really "yea we met and had an intro talk

All in all we need to formalise the partnership scheme and set out some ground rules, that will need to include regular meetings and updates on the relationships, why they exist and what are the objectives. We will look into this now and try to make the partner scheme more transparent and obvious. We should have pages on our site for each partner we work with and identify the people responsible in each team for the relationship. Then there is a focal point to discuss possible deals with.

So bottom line, this is new and we will pursue it and clean it all up. In terms of this project I feel we do support the ethos and objectives and will need to speak with them a bit more and see where it goes, after their crowd funding round though  Wink

8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bryant.coleman ACCOUNT COMPRIMISED on: May 28, 2017, 03:26:36 AM
So hacker got bryants account, sold it to a scammer but over the whole duration nobody changed the password?

/edit
He was posting as usual over the whole duration. Just look up his post history.
/edit end

Now bryant is sad because he didnt received his weekly sig spam money to pay hospital expenses?
Come on bryant you are a software developer living in singapur working for an insurance or not?

What is wrong here or do i just have an iq of 5? Roll Eyes

He also posted yesterday that he has enough BTC to buy a new car or a small plot of land, and now he urgently needs a few bit cents to pay for 'hospital expenses'?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet on: May 14, 2017, 09:07:47 PM
What would be crowdsale base price for a token.?

The price will be determined after the crowd sale, by the total amount invested, all the coins will be distributed.

so the price will be unpredictable
but did you have minimum target of investment for this project at crowsdale?
There is no minimum and the funds will be escrowed and released in a milestone system. More information will be disclosed later.

A word of caution to potential investors: other projects like Getgems had a crowdsale with a third-party escrow and milestone system and still managed to scam their investors for over $1 million.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: September 27, 2016, 02:42:07 PM
Does Maidsafe have any contingency plans in the event that they fail to raise the minimum investment amount? Assuming they have enough funds to continue development until the end of the year, what happens after that? It is obvious they still have quite a way to go in terms of development, as they wouldn't be pushing so hard to secure additional funding if they had an official release in the pipeline for the near future.
11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Daniel Peled, AKA Peled1986, GetGems Scammer on: September 18, 2016, 03:20:27 PM
Dario Mutabdzija, co-founder of Koinify and orchestrator of the Getgems crowdsale, is Daniel’s employee at PayKey.

https://www.paykey.com/#/team

https://www.crunchbase.com/person/dario-mutabdzija#/entity

As in, the impartial "third-party" that was to protect investors' interests by holding the funds in locked milestones was onstage this week promoting PayKey. Likely being paid by the very money he failed to safeguard.

Just when you think you've seen the depth of this scam.

Good catch, they did a poor job of removing the evidence of their scam. It's like they don't even care.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: September 08, 2016, 11:09:00 PM
Another thing , If only people who provide resources will get paid , what would anyone buy the coin as there is no demand ? (unless people who use the network will have to pay coins as well)

Spend Safecoins to store data on the network, paid Safecoin options for more features on apps, buy and sell Safenet domains or IDs, pay Safecoin for programs or services, etc.
13  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I'm a victim of MiM Scam! Now the police is investigating! help! on: September 01, 2016, 01:53:37 AM
Did you receive the money the same day that you sent the BTC? Maybe the transaction record on the blockchain could serve as proof. I'd agree with The Pharmacist that you should be wary of trusting the police and to at least seek out the advice of a lawyer.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GEMZ - Unmoderated thread on: August 14, 2016, 04:39:39 PM
I've made a thread in the scam accusations section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1585607.0

May as well move this discussion there as it's pretty obvious they misappropriated crowdsale funds to develop PayKey, while working on GetGems as a mediocre side project.
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Daniel Peled, AKA Peled1986, $800,000 Scam on: August 14, 2016, 04:32:14 PM
Scammer's profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=172116
Announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=758004

GetGems raised almost $800,000 in BTC through a crowdsale on here using Koinify. It says in the first post of the announcement thread that the app is designed from the ground up. What they actually actually managed to come up with in nearly 2 years of development, was to rip off Telegram and make a few modest modifications (Incorporate GEMZ crypto, custom skin, channel to broadcast ads, etc). They also failed to release the source code for GetGems, which is essentially Telegram (open source), and named their app 'Telegram with GetGems' to gain exposure and downloads in app stores, as 'GetGems' on it's own wasn't cutting it.

If that wasn't enough, in the fall of 2015 it was revealed that the GetGems team were working on another project, PayKey. Many investors started asking questions about the funding of PayKey and Peled1986 would constantly reassure investors that the new project would benefit investors, while failing to address whether the GetGems crowdsale was funding the development of PayKey, which it obviously was. Eventually, even the most ardent supporters of GetGems became disillusioned, and called out Peled1986 on his conniving ways. The GEMZ currency was delisted from Poloniex due to bugs and transfer delays, which caused people to complain even more. Peled1986's response to the mounting criticism was to lock the announcement thread and stop posting on here, although he still frequently visits the forum.

A week ago David R. Allen, another person involved in the GetGems scam made a post on their blog: https://medium.com/@GetGems/getgems-and-beyond-d178117f520#.n97rakn4x. Notice the following quote:

Quote
In the fall of 2015 Decentralized Mobile Applications Ltd. created a new project to develop a banking technology called PayKey. For more information go to PayKey.com
PayKey is a separate project not connected to the GetGems project and was not developed with money from the token crowdsale.

Now check out this slideshow from a startup pitch they made at a conference: http://www.slideshare.net/IsraelMobileSummit/paykey-startup-pitch-at-the-mobile-moentization-summit-2015-startup-contest

Take a look at slide #16, which alludes to the Koinify (GetGems) crowdsale being a source of funding for the PayKey project (In case he tries deleting it):

It's obvious that Daniel Peled and David R. Allen are lying and that PayKey development was funded with GetGems investors' funds. They essentially pulled a bait-and-switch scam, and used funds meant for GetGems development on PayKey, while maintaining that the two projects are unrelated in terms of funding. I'm sure with further digging, a lot more evidence against Peled1986 can be uncovered. Koinify also has some explaining to do, as they guaranteed 3rd-party accountability to the investors and then abruptly shut down, with no transparency as to the release of investor funds to GetGems.

All in all, this thread serves to warn others on here from investing in any future ventures undertaken or connected to Daniel Peled.

How do you stop signature spam when paid signatures are allowed? There are money-making forums and guides that encourage registering on here and posting simply as a way to earn an income online. While that $3 a day or whatever signature posters get paid may seem insignificant to some, it is pretty enticing to people in some parts of the world (eg. official minimum wage throughout India varies from $2.40 to $6.35 per day; and there are many places with lower wages than that). Multiply that $3 by several accounts, and they've got a a pretty good thing going for them.
That is very interesting.  Can anyone else here verify whether this is true (I'm a skeptic by nature)?

If this is true, I'm very happy that bitcoin is providing a real source of income.  But that doesn't excuse lazy shitposters by any means.  I'm not saying that.  If that's a day's wage, they should put some serious effort into their posts.  But I really like the idea of Indians being able to earn that much by sig campaigns.  It almost warms my blackened, dead heart.  This is what bitcoin is supposed to be about, a global thing.

Here's a Wikipedia list of minimum wages by country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country

You need to remember than in poor countries, there's probably a £100 startup fee for Internet connection. Mainly used for cabling and routers. There's then a £20 fee per month at least in most countries to maintain a connection. The money earned is a bit worthless, however, it all adds up and is probably seen by some as a good way to greater decentralise the currency.

You can get a 3G data connection with a few gigs for less than $5 a month in many countries. More people in India have access to smart phones than toilets. Maybe some of the signature spammers can shed some light as to why they spend time here making incoherent posts that no one wants to read instead of exploring other sources of income.

I thought it was weird that Daniel removed his name off of the iOS getgems app, and not the Android version.

But now, after 3+ months of no updates to the Apple App Store, it appears that they've abandoned the platform.

This would make sense if the lead iOS developer (Alon) is solely working on PayKey.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.paykey.innobank

He's moving on to his next scam. Their app, blog, reddit and twitter have been abandoned for over a while now. Strangely enough, peled still logs into Bitcointalk frequently.

The project should get more attention , only 96 pages for more than 2 years.

Most of the discussion is going on at the MaidSafe forum: http://forum.safenetwork.io.
