Been reading through this thread regarding staking... you guys have to consider the compounding rate of your coins. It'll be wayyy more than 500% increase in coins if this compounds daily. The formula for compounding interest is A=P(1+(i/N)^NY.

Variables P is present supply,i is interest/annum, N is the number of compounding periods, and Y is the duration of staking.

Do the math:
A = 750000(1+5/365)^365*1
A = 750000(1+0.0137)^365
A = 750000(143.53)
A = 107250000

That may seem like a crazy number... 107,250,000 coins after 1 year... but thats the magic of compounding-daily Cheesy

Now lets see what happens if this coin compounds monthly:
A = 750000(1+5/12)^12*1
A = 750000(1+0.4167)^12
A = 750000(1.4167)^12
A = 750000^65.36
A = 49,020,000

49 MLN total coins after 1 year.

And what happens if this coin does not compound- just simple interest?

A = P(1+RT)
A = 750000(1+5*1)
A = 750000(6)
A = 4,500,000

4.5 MLN total coins after 1 year.

The compounding rate has a HUGE effect on how many coins exist after 1 year.

These numbers will always differ though, because not everyone stakes (exchange wallets dont stake from what I hear), and also due to the min/max stake age, the estimated supply after 1 year will almost always be less than the calculated amount. Unless the yearly increase of coins has been hard coded, percentage increases following compounding rates will always make calculating estimated supply difficult.

yes with compound you will get way more than 500% but only if you actually get 500% pa stake rate which it appears not to be
from the code its :
age*stakeweight/365/numcoins
thanks for posting a snip of the source what's the value for the constant MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE?

sorry if this seems dumb but it still doesnt make sense how 102 coins in 32 hours produce the same as 12400 in 26 hours

put it this way if you opened 2 bank accounts at 5% apr deposited $100 in one and $12000 in the second would you expect them to pay the same amount of $ interest in each account each month?
no

Guys if we want price to rise, we BADLY need a professional looking OP with a professional logo. Im horrible at graphic design. Would anyone with skills care to post some graphical ideas of a professional looking logo please?

That graphic then needs to be imported into the wallet, and wallet needs to look professional. A good example is the wallet of security coin .That Atari logo almost scared me away. Most OPs with an 1981 logo are scams.

Also its not staking right , as the money supply has barley changed.

Vegas

It should be 500% after a year, with compound interest I think. Current supply is around 741k. I'l work on getting us a better logo and make the main thread look better.

Any explanation for these two blocks?

Here is a block of 12,357.70419541 GP   Created   2.29544042 GP

Am I blind or .. whats wrong with them ?

 ones over 10k 25 hours ones just over 100 36 hours but gave close to the same stake reward

I really like this coin, but the staking is definitely not at 500% per annum with larger amounts of GP. I am breaking all my GP down into smaller groups of 100 as it seems that anything over 100 GP will only stake as 100 GP whether there is 100 GP in the input or 15 000 GP. Will report back with my findings in a few days!

indeed the 500% is per annum but it should be paid out per stake over the year each stake should give a portion of the interest (in the unlikely event you stake in exactly 24 hours) the stake amount should be (stake*5)/365
the following stake as stated before should include the previous interest at least that's how all other P.O.S. coins I've used work with the exception of gimp which i dumped because first stake was fine second third etc wasnt the devs answer to this was to send them to the exchange and back to my wallet!! hence why I dumped gimp.

please don't take this as FUD it isn't, this is a great coin that I believe will go far  Cool

i stiill have the feeling whe are not staking @ 500%
i have 19k gp in my wallet staking for the last 72 hours and got 37,62GP on stake in total!

It's not it seems kinda random as to how much you get my smaller blocks seem to give me more than my larger blocks, I suspect it's something to do with coin control as the coins I've merged after minting seem to payout less than those i haven't merged! Anyone else notice anything similar?

Edit: I'm avoiding coin control for a few days will post my results as and when

Today is the big day...maybe.

It's unlikely imho, I never got any shares from ltcgear directly i got some from ipominer but after 6 weeks? Without payment I'm far from hopeful if it does payout I should get my investment back
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CamorraCoin [CAM] | Scrypt | Stealth Addresses | Encrypted Messaging on: January 17, 2015, 11:23:06 PM
Does someone here knows how to get CAM to sponsored coins on bittrex or how to get CAM to other exchanges?? Since c-cex is not responding on the wallet change, it would be great if we could get this coin to some other exchange actually...what do you guys think?

think you've gotta pay Bittrex to get it sponsored but im not 100%

more exchanges cant hurt, a faucet or some games would be good also (presuming there aren't already)

edit:

rt, not the newest or most known exchange but the more the merrier?

I wonder who is dumping so many coins???
Fellows who own  wallets  CQVWZgHK6fCjTqrXjwM1nzgMdx1SpFbU4 dump over 200,000 coins in last few days and CYU23424UG6BQrSdhfPQng45bS2kd7nyLe dump over 140,000 coins.Also CTMLP9ufseG5RcgcssMQmktxeezFoSUeaf dump over 200,000 coins.Those three guys working hard to take price down.Can be many reasons why they dumping.Maybe they like to shake out weak holders
or they don't want to wait loooooooooooooooong way to get mega profit.Looks like we can see dump progress for week or two.

me too , i want to wait long term for CAM Smiley

if dump for 100 or 200 sat, i will to buy more and more Smiley

I hope it doesn't get below 200 sat again, crazy price as it is just put up 3 more buy orders  Wink

edit:
come on dumpers, i better wake up to a bigger bag  Grin

612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GP] GoldPieces - An expandable digital currency for online gaming on: January 17, 2015, 01:32:57 PM
So my coins staked once yesteday and after that it seems it stoped and it says again that I dont have mature coins even though I did not move them? Any idea what to do ?

If you just wait, they will mature again then stake. This will happen daily, slightly later every day on a rotation.

Also you'll likely get 2 stakes next at half the size ie if you staked 1000 you likely now have 2 blocks of 500 to stake.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GP] GoldPieces - An expandable digital currency for online gaming on: January 16, 2015, 11:27:49 AM
Isn't it like if you open your wallet and make stake, you will get like very small amount for every hours, but if you open only 1time in a week, you will get bigger chunk because all stakes adding up for those days into 1big, so it's optical illusion to someone who are getting "small" stakes even that they both are the same.

not really minimum time to stake is 24 hours so after 24 hours shouldn't you get (amount of mature coins*5)/365 as a minimum

(528*5)/365 = 7.232......

gave 0.01...  Huh

(186*5)/365 = 2.54...

gave 1.95....

the thing that's confusing is how 186 coins gave me almost 2 coins yet 528 gave me 0.01

Coinny correct.

You need consider coin age too

i am the lower block had coin age of 2-3 days the larger block (528) had 36 hours 0.018 for 36 hours really doesn't seem right in comparison
i'm not new to pos pretty much all the coins i hold are pos coins, for example munne 3% pos 8 hours maturity gives me roughly .035 per thousand

Coin control scares me.Tongue I'm at a loss when I enable that feature. What's the best way to learn more? Any risks I should be aware of?

Can't I just create a new address and send all my coins there w/o using coin control?

after clicking inputs all the coins are listed under the address that received each payment.
expand the tree too see individual payments, click the check boxes of the ones you want to send and click ok
right click the amount by after fee and copy if you want the full amount or just type an amount in as you usually would
it will only send coins from selected payments

my last 2 stakes have had really low rewards  Huh

Regarding ICO funds. They're sitting on a wallet. Around 7BTC.

By the end of the week you will be able to buy yourself a meal with those 7 bitcoin
And this is the reason I avoid visiting the forum that much.

@rahmad7 another bit of info, as your coins stake they'll split in half to a point, a 40k chunk becomes 2*20k each 20k gives 2*10k and so on. meaning each time you stake the next rewards for the same amount of time will be smaller but you'll have more blocks to stake meaning you'll actually get about the same amount. you can join these together again using coin control if you like just select the smaller blocks and send them to your own address

Speaking of Coin Control.  I have some styling edits to fix with that. Smiley

yea its a pain to use atm but you've done so much i didn't want to mention it
