Observations are a dime a dozen unfortunately your perception of what Opal should be is misconstrued..

Regards,

Dark~

People will always complain regardless  of how much time and effort the team puts in. It's simple is you don't like the coin its concept features or dev team there are 1000 other coins you can invest in.

Have a great weekend.

Greetings from down under

Dark~

Today the Opal Team is proud to announce the release of one of our greatest features yet: Opal Drive. We have been hard at work making sure the 9k+ lines of code work as they should.  We have run into a few small bugs, but we estimate a basic demo release within 2-3 days.  This release will be limited to the ability of uploading files, and we are planning to start work on the transfer of files in the next few days, once we squash the bugs. We know it's been a while since we announced this project, but we are sure you will be satisfied.

Thanks for your humbling support,
The Opal Team.

Big thanks to Bass and all the Opal coin team for all their hard work! Smiley

With logo i am traditional, so if fontline's is really very nice (thank you man Smiley ) i'd rather keep the old one (changing logo dilutes the image)
I'd rather see fontline's logo as the logo of the next improvement such Opal Drive.

Loving Opal Man.. I agree the traditional style is the way to go, however the new logo is fresh if there is a more definite way of merging both we might have something new to move forward with..

I am sure you have been on irc and such, but just in case have you tried salvagewallet once you have downloaded a fresh install?

PS. Do you have ANY wallet.dat backup at all?Huh? and I mean anything?Huh

All I had left I sent to bassguitarman and a freeze frame picture of my no connections screen to darkness but then I tried downloading it again and tried doing what they had told me to do and nothing worked so I just got frustrated and deleted everything and tried downloading it again do you think the wallet.dat I have now would be something?

You said you deleted everything in appdata?
If that was the case the next time you tried to install the wallet the original dat file would have been lost.
Look in your recycle bin for the earliest deletion of opal and recover the dat

Is that why my wallet erased everything and now I can't load a new one? I had 70k in my wallet then all of a sudden this mandatory update and I do it and poof everything gone!! Like I never even made a transaction and I still can't get the wallet to work still

Hmm... i don't know why, did you tried to save your wallet and remove everything about opalcoin in your computer then reinstall?

Ya I've tried everything to get them back and even with the help of bassguitarman and darkness too and I just don't understand I mean it's not a huge loss because I bought them before they boomed but still it would be nice to even have a tenth of them back even

what boom ? you have seen nothing yet, there is whole army of developers behind the Supernet and this coin in particular, saying that I should hope you recover your coins , please work with Opal team as they are allegedly in touch with the thief (I am an old school I call hacker someone doing something positive)

it is interesting that events like this cause people value crypto more,  not sure about you all but FIAT does not come easy to me one has to work hard, I ain't a privileged kid

Oh I am staying in touch with the OPALTeam and hoping to even recover some of my coins would be totally sweet but I mean if not then what can I do right?

Noob we are here..

ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the recent issues that have occurred. It is required for Opal to continue to be a viable cryptocurrency a roll back of the block chain must occur. We will compensate all the exchanges involved repaying the lost BTC. However for this to move forward we require the consensus of the OPAL community. Therefore a vote will need to take place and will be live for the next 12 hours:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1_ogq4xNJBUb3H49MH3cnMbqEufN-Ok_dHVSG7BksGKk/viewform

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IF THE ROLL BACK OCCURS?

If you have lost any coins due to the malicious attack you will be refunded
If you purchased any OPAL during this period you will be refunded with the BTC value of your purchase.

Opal apologise for the inconvenience this has caused but we wish to put our Community first and will not be held to ransom by hackers.

WARNING DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY WALLETS UNLESS IT POSTED BY THIS ACCOUNT FROM THE OFFICIAL OPAL DOMAIN
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 16, 2014, 02:17:33 PM
Before voting, can somebody explain what a rollback will change ?
-for the blockchain
-for the hacked wallets
-for the safe wallets
-for the opals remaining on exchange

clearly for me:
i have a safe wallet (no malware) with opals staked, if a rollback occurs, do i loose all my opals ?

Many Thanks.

A rollback is like a backup/restore (is like the film "back to the future" but you back to the past...  Cool)

Please read the previous posts before you make statements

Users have to take the following into consideration should this rollback occur :

If you lost coins due to the malicious attack, you will be refunded

Any OPAL purchase with Bitcoin during this period will grant you a BTC refund.

At this stage a roll back looks imminent call it what you want.

A coin is as viable as the community behind it. I can assure you that half of the community walk if a roll back does not occur.
