Why i invested what i could lose...
Many people have good business ideals but cant get funding or secondary skills to get up and running. Businesses on top of coins is a great one. This could create jobs all from within the crypto economy. These coins don't have to all be scams. As the Crypto-Currency community grows this is the obvious path to follow.

I was wondering about this because i missed the maxcoin launch but keep hearing is was major fail(hard to believe it could be worse than gpucoin).

When someone says "Asics are not to be worried about, give me a break". They don't mean Asics are not being used right now. They mean Asics are not a threat because they are not economically superior yet. They will be in time, but that time is not now. If someone wants to spend the cash for asics right now they deserve the hash. 6 months from now that may be a diff story.

I had an emergency and could not be around for launch today. Really glad to get another chance. You see "actions have an equal and opposite reaction". Anyone who ever created a coin before knows how hard it is to get everything right and you even said that you are new to this(but show signs of a sharp mind and can learn fast, - and thats better than a seasoned idiot  imho).

I'm going to attempt to setup Verminter again, but I was only able to get around 30% normal the last time i tried on Windows, and other rigs didnt work at all.

Script-N is interesting but why not just increase the memory requirement for regular Script. Asics will be made for Litecoin specifically, and any change to the memory requirement(increase from x to say + 100%) will hinder asics designed for Litecoin useless, in theory. This way hash rates will be closer to normal(compared to vert) and still asic resistant, short - medium term. I considered doing this myself on a new coin but having gotten around to it.

I spent hours trying to setup scrypt-n and some of my rigs just wont work with it(the first gpu works but the rest just shut off).

Scrypt-n: good time to enter the market for a new coin, still young but lot of potential. It's a good decision by my experiences, even tho not everyone can get them working.

1. It's scrypt(decentralized - and devs and community understand the importance of this)
2. It has major brand recognition(good or bad publicity is good for holders)
3. A chance for ppl to get in early -just as the early adopters of btc did(at the cost of risk).
4. The dev is more than competent and didn't even have to think before responding to a question about how to handle Asics.(quote "The algo will be changed and it will be forever ASIC resisted")

Yes, i now use "Sell at top buy bid (Lower Price)" The second from top.

I used (1) and (3) and did find that I had a lot unsold orders so I researched (2) and have not had a problem yet. If a symbol does give you a problem try (4).

(1) Sell at top sell bid (Higher Price)
 (2) Sell at top buy bid (Lower Price)
 (3) Sell at 2nd highest sell bid (Highest Price)
 (4) Immediate & Complete Sell (Lowest Price)

i understand that (1) and (3) may never get sold and that (2) may not be sold completely, but (4) should sell immediately.

It's really easy just to setup a Crypsty account and point your address to payout and activate Autotrade(iv'e been doing it for a week now(still testing)). I understand that it may seem like it's harder than it is but it's not and the transparency and full control is a feature to be embraced not a hindrance. In the end(after some tweaking) you will have both LTC and BTC in your account on Crypsty where you can cashout daily just like Middlecoin. With the controls offered you can get better returns compared to a one size fit's all pool, if you just take some time to tweak. If everyone knew it was this easy everyone would do it.

A few tips...

1) set auto pay on Crypsty to the second one from the top(it almost always fills your sell order).

2) Set the pool Auto-Pay threshold differently depending on the coin. For example (3-4mhs rig) around 100 for SXC, but 400 for MEM. This will almost guarantee you never to hold for too long and bag hold. After all we are not in business of investing into these altcoins. We are basically selling our computational power at a set rate. I personally I do keep a few coins to speculate with and plan to accumulate low and sell higher(even it it takes months).
