For me cigar addiction is far more better than gambling addiction.
In cigar, you are the only one who is going to suffer if you wouldn't let your kids or family inhale the smoke or be a second-hand smoker.
But in gambling, the stress and negativity would affect your emotion and how you communicate and it could destroy your family.
Actually, both of them could be harmful to your family in any way. First, gambling could ruin families in the way that you could engulf by your emotions and your behaviour towards your family might change. Cigarette addiction, it's true that your health is the only will be affected but in fact, if you got any medical issue upon using cigar your family will suffer medical expenses. But if I will choose, I would rather have a gambling addiction since I could still entertain myself in playing and there's a chance for me to win. I agree with your point. Gambling gives an adrenaline rush, a thrill which cigar can never provide. You can turn out to be a winner in gambling but for cigar addiction, you've got nothing to win, just to lose on your health and eventually money. Keeping the emotional point of view aside, gambling addiction can be more detrimental as compared to cigar's addiction w.r.t to the amount of money which can be lost. Each cigar = constant cost for 10s of years followed by medical expenses after decades, whereas Gambling = Dynamic amount of money won/lost (mostly lose, that's why casinos are running and making money). Being more of a practical person, I'd rather be addicted to cigars than gambling. |

I once experimented by dropping a piece of ice in a glass half-filled with water. (Just as to make a prototype of icebergs in the ocean).
