EDIT: the stale thing is weird. I get amazing stale count, but suddenly I get like a burst of stales, for example this just happened:

It happens in random cards and only in this pool.

Except for this "bursts" of stales the stale count is amazing.

I confirm that, I have the same problem.

I just got done looking over our logs, and I do see a lot of stale shares coming from your works.

For example:

Quote
13 Jul 23:39:29 - info: getwork: stale share from XXXX
13 Jul 23:39:31 - info: getwork: stale share from XXXX
13 Jul 23:39:32 - info: getwork: stale share from XXXX

If you could tell me what miner you use, and what version you have that would be helpful. From our longpool logs it appears that you only have 2 open longpool connections, but four miners. Also, this rapid stales, like the above, indicates that either you don't have a longpool connection open or that we were not successful in getting you the LP getwork soon enough.

Also, on issues like this, for everyone I'd be curious to know what your ping response time to pool.bitp.it is. Network latence will play a small roll, and I figured it probably best to get as much info as possible  Smiley

Thanks all!

I use GUIMiner (2011-07-01 version) with poclbm kernel.
Two of my workers connects to the internet directly from the first computer, and two another connects via shared internet connection from another computer (I don't have a router, but have 2 LAN in my first computer). Perhaps, problem in it? Can you tell me the numbers (or labels) of my workers with no longpolling?

Something wrong with the pool. I can't connect and seems like nobody can.

1bitc0inplz, can you please add some more statistics in profile and round history?

Profile:
- total shares (in all time/since reset)
- stales (per worker in all time/since reset and in current round)

Round history:
- total round's shares
- remaining number of confirmations to confirm last block
- your own award per block
- duration (in hours, i.e. time when block was solved minus round start time)

Just look at the BTC Guild block statistic, which looks pretty good.

Thanks for all you doing!

I have something about 10/42898 = 0.06%! And looks like this rate steadily decreasing since your last change. Good work!

I have one more request - can you please make "stales" column in workers statistic? And if it will be separately for current round and since last reset (or for all time), this would be even better. I think pool which positioned as pool with lowest stales rate must have this info in statistic Cheesy
15  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5 BTC Bonus] bit pit - (LP, Prop, OnDemand, SSL, API, 0% fee, SUPER LOW STALES) on: July 09, 2011, 12:38:11 AM
Thanks for joining up! If you have any suggestions or feedback for growing our pool, we'd love to hear them!

First of all, I think you might no give 5 BTC to one person, who find the block (at least in 6th round), but increase payouts for everyone by 10% (that will be the same amount of BTC) or even by 5%. I think this is will give greater psychological effect for miners to join, than having a little chance to win jackpot (and this is why people often prefer large pools with stable little payouts than little ones with huge (as we may see right now) influence of luck).

And second suggestion is implement some kind referrals system for early stage or giving some bonuses for early adopters (such as, for example, 1% bonus for payouts to first 100 people who send at least 10000 shares). It can be temporary of course, all what we need is grow to 100-200GHashs.

I hope you understand what I mean (google translator is not always a panacea)

Hi there.
I joined just yesterday with my ~1.75GH, can't wait to find this damn block.
Also, pool speed increase in last day is my job (partially at least), I did some PR in another forum =)
(sry for grammar)
