1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GorillaBucks [BUCKS] | GorillaBand Masternodes 50/50 Split | Cloud Staking on: June 30, 2015, 04:59:22 PM
I am now having issues with the wallet and I need some help please.

I was running with 4 connections on 1 machine and 3 on the other fine, staked 6 different times, got 2 or 3 confirms for all, then they disappeared and I lost my peer connections on both machines.
I have tried rebooting both of my machines, running with and without .conf file, flushng and resetting my network stack.

The only peer I can connect to is this one even when using GoillaBucks.conf with 8 or so peers from this thread, but it will not sync:
[
{
"addr" : "23.92.61.98:36480",
"services" : "00000000",
"lastsend" : 1435651618,
"lastrecv" : 0,
"bytessent" : 129,
"bytesrecv" : 0,
"conntime" : 1435651618,
"pingtime" : 0.00000000,
"version" : 0,
"subver" : "",
"inbound" : false,
"startingheight" : -1,
"banscore" : 0,
"syncnode" : false
}
]

This is happening on 2 seperate wallets running on 2 different machines and connected through 2 different ISP connections.
None of my other wallets, or any wallets from MMXIV, Teeth, Balls, 10K, Vary, Original Bucks have had this problem.

What do I do to fix this?  What is different about this coin than any other wallet?
All other wallets connected to 8 peers each without any problem.

Please help as I am losiing a lot of stakes while I cannot connect.
As I was typing this I now have 0 connections

Same thing here.

Spots, or anyone else can you help us out please

All the other coins worked fine, MMXIV, VARY, TEETH, BUCKS. Full connections, always synced.

This one is always connecting to node 23.92.61.98:36480 which is a bad boy, always missbehaving:

Code:
Misbehaving: 23.92.61.98:36480 (0 -> 1)
ProcessMessage(dsee, 253 bytes) FAILED
Misbehaving: 23.92.61.98:36480 (1 -> 2)
ProcessMessage(dsee, 253 bytes) FAILED

Same problem here, if the wallet can connect to 1 peer it should be able to connect to others. Pinging the other peers works so they are there.
I am receiving the same error.
Code:
Misbehaving: 23.92.61.98:36480 (0 -> 1)
ProcessMessage(dsee, 253 bytes) FAILED
Misbehaving: 23.92.61.98:36480 (1 -> 2)

iGotSpots, I solved my staking issue, plugged into my other ISP line and I have staked 3 times today with no rejects. (@#@$#$%$%#ing Shaw LOL)

iGotSpots, I may have a problem with my wallet staking.  I will generate a stake and almost immediately my connections drop from 8 to 0 and the stake transaction line says offline and is not generated.
After a few seconds the wallet will go back to 8 connections, after a minute or two it turns to generated but not accepted.
The generated but not accepted I have seen before but this dropping of my connections to the network is new.
Any idea what is going on?

I've had plenty of orphans, but never had a connection drop. Have 54 connections right now on my local wallet

Is there any way to increase my connections like a .conf file? If so where do I find a list of peers to add.

I moved my coins 48h ago when they stop staking and now they still don't stake.The whole situation is not cool at all i got over 1 mil coins , so i loss many coins daily.As i see some people staking ,some not it is not fai[Suspicious link removed]o we stake all or nobody.

It is based on coinage. They held long enough to stake with the new parameters. My coins are also not staking right now, either, so I feel your pain

Sorry for busting your balls earlier....Smiley

If I send more coins to my existing wallet will it reset the entire wallet balance coin age,  or do amounts added mature separately from the original?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Snowballs | 1000% Stake | Win FREE BALLS with the in-Qt Trivia Game! | on: December 27, 2014, 09:28:11 PM
So i can expect to wait up to 30 days until my coins will stake again after i've moved them yesterday?!

Maybe. Honestly, there are three different opinions from intelligent people who looked at it. Since coins are still staking on the network and blocks are still moving, it's not an immediate threat. I'm in the same boat as you, though, I moved all of mine yesterday, too  Sad

Oh dear so this means we not gonna get any staked balls for a month? Cos we moved our coins? Cry

This is not fair and this is not a solution for this issue.

I know right!  The dev of the coin tells us we have to move our coins then we find out we could lose up to 30 days of staking coins. That is a very large amount of balls possibly lost (200K + in wallet) and it is the Dev's fault. It was NOT an accidental event, the dev has admitted to making a mistake that caused this.

Anyone that followed the direct advice of the dev and moved their coins should absolutely be compensated for the loss of coins. Also NOT happy that the dev does not care about the balls traders and people who helped get this coin to where it is today. The only people who seem to matter are the ones that bought his hardware.

NOT COOL!!!

Waiting for the dev to do the right thing. Taking a chance with his own coins to test is one thing telling everyone else to do the same without knowing the consequences is pure BS and not professional. Then he comes on and almost laughs it of saying he is in the same boat.....IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT.

Don't move them, then. My advice is it's better to move them now than wait a month and find out you should have moved them today. I'm not laughing anything off. I completely understand the severity of both the benefits and consequences of my decision

I made a mistake, yes, I'm not denying it. I put a wrong timestamp for 2014 instead of 2020, but I actually like the changes it made. It will create far less coins per day. All of you are being very selfish and looking at day to day staking. That's like looking at the moon one night and extrapolating patterns of revolutions. PoS itself is not built to be monitored on a daily basis

This is a system built on yearly averages. After 24 hours you will start gaining coinage, which should increase your amount when you do finally stake

YOU ARE MAKING THE SAME AMOUNT OF COINS WHILE STAKING - All you have to do is wait a little longer to start now, but there is no max, so once you start staking, your wallet will require ZERO maintenance and attention

Everyone is affected the same, whether you are staking on a desktop or our units. The only reason not to fork is there are already specialized units out there that do nothing but stake these coins. If they don't update, they are useless, and not everyone will update them

OK I will calm down a little if you can answer one thing.

You said above "I actually like the changes it made. It will create far less coins per day" then said "YOU ARE MAKING THE SAME AMOUNT OF COINS WHILE STAKING",
How exactly is this possible?Huh?

Yes, once I post what I believe is happening it will explain the issues for the past couple days. There was an unintentional protocol switch that should have been disabled left active, which I actually am considering leaving in

If I am correct and we decide to keep this change, I will really regret moving my coins this morning  Sad

Why regret? What will happen with moved coins? I guess they won't stake anymore, right?

I sent 10k balls to another wallet and although there are 10 confirmations, no amount had reached wallet that I sent. Do not send anything out of the wallet to not lose coins. Wait to see what happens, it's certainly not just a minor problem.

@iGotSpots take the problem seriously and seek a solution as otherwise lose all.

You can send coins just fine; that has nothing to do with the issue

Can you let us know what you think is happening. Keeping us all in the dark is not really the best option after telling us to make sure we move our coins because of the 30 day thing then later you say that you would regret moving your coins. If this causes lost coins from staking and or lost coins in wallets are you going to compensate us for the loss???

I am sure many thoughts are going through peoples minds and this silence is maddening.......

What is the issue then???

I never changed anything. It just stopped staking when I hit Chritmas. Im not trying to be difficult or fud, but I just cant ignore all these users saying that they are not staking past Christmas. Ill note , it worked PERFECT until 1am December 25th, AND ill guarantee everyone who is having problems stopped staking within an hour or two of that time. There IS a fault in the wallet. Please dev, take another look.

ok ive been on balls since day 1. I MINED it day 1. I did the rollar coaster thing from 5000% -10,000% then back to 1000% and this is the first time Im hearing of "monthly reset"? Is this a hidden feature? This coin has worked flawless since day one without my intervention. Is there something now I need to do?

What exactly would you like me to look at while blocks are being found as normal? I've looked and see no problems. 12 blocks have been found since your post

The 30 days is in OP

 I understand the 30 day reset but follow me for a second....

Date      Deposit     Max Coin Age   Staked coin Max age   Move coins to reset age
Nov 1    55000        Dec 1st           Jan 1                       Jan 1
Nov 7    22500        Dec 7              Jan 7                       Jan 7
Nov 10  20000        Dec 10             Jan 10                     Jan 10
Nov 18  17000        Dec 18             Jan 18                     Jan 18
Nov 23  26000        Dec 23             Jan 23                     Jan 23
Dec 2    25000        Jan 2               Feb 2                      Feb 2
Dec 12   25000       Jan 12              Feb 12                    Feb 12
Dec 19   30000       Jan 19              Feb 19                    Feb 19
Dec 20  30000        Jan 20              Feb 20                    Feb 20
Dec 22  30000        Jan 22              Feb 22                    Feb 22
Dec 24  20000        Jan 24              Feb 24                    Feb 24

If I wait for all coins in the wallet to reach max coin age I would lose 60+ days of staking on my first Nov 1 deposit.

These coins would have to wait without staking until the Dec 24th coin deposit and the staked value reached max coin age on or about Feb 24 in order to move the entire balance to reset coin age for all coins in wallet.
(No coin control)

If I move my balance after the first 60 days (30 days for original and 30 for staked coins on original), I would lose 60 + days of staking on my Dec deposits.

If this is how it is working, there are only 2 choices: Keep a separate wallet address for each deposit, Suck it up and lose 60+ days of coin interest.

Please let me know if this is accurate and if it is PLEASE put coin control in next release.

Coin control will not be added to BALLS. It would compromise the way we control inflation. I suggest moving coins all at once then add to the same address as you buy more. The maturity is only 24 hours, so even if you move coins that are staking, you are only losing one day max on a very small sliver of your stash. It's a minor inconvenience for a very effective system of inflation control

So does that mean that every time I deposit to the same address it resets the entire wallet coin balance age and starts staking as a whole balance 24 hours later?

No. Each deposit is on its own timer. I personally reset EVERY coin I have each month at the same yime, just to consolidate, even if some of the smaller deposits are only a few days old

Thanks, I think I got it now... No matter when I move the coins I will only lose 24 hours of staking on any balance regardless of coin age.....do I got it right now?

I LOVE SNOWBALLS....Happy Boxing day to you Smiley

I wouldn't have moved coins unless you know you were up for the monthly reset

How do we check coin age without a coin control feature?
How do we move the coins that are 30+ days old and keep the newer ones in the wallet to keep staking?

If blocks stop being fpund, we have a problem, but I've triple checked and everything seems to be ok network-wise

In what way can we have a problem? Can you be more specific? You iGotSpots are a dev of this coin, we have invested some BTC here and I would like to know exactly what is happening. You should be able to tell us something concrete

This is like asking a pilot to explain why the plane is crashing when you hit 3 seconds of turbulence. There is nothing wrong on the network, so there is nothing to report

Blocks are being found every few minutes, which means people are staking as normal. If a block is found, someone just staked, so it's obviously still working. I'm not sure what you want me to say, I'm not going to make up an issue and say there is a problem if there's not

Yes, blocks are being found, so yes the coin is working, but could there be rogue nodes that are preventing things from running smoothly on some peoples wallets. Can someone who is staking properly post a snowballs.conf file to check whether we all have the same working nodes? This could explain some people working and others not even if the blockchain is fine. Absolutely NOT freaking out here just curious and confused why so many have this problem at the same time....

Same problem here, I have only received 3 stakes from the 25th and all were orphaned. 100% orphaned. What is going on? My orphaned rate has always been less than 15%.
Why did this coincide with the drop in network stake rate? Very strange! I have had my wallet since november and until yesterday everything was working fine.

Any replies to your inquiry yet??

Unfortunately not. I've checked the whois and it looks all the private info of the person running it is available to see, some guy in Ukraine. You could try and send him a mail.
Did you have many coins in there?

No ( only 90 or so coins), I had the auto payout set low so no big loss. Just kind of annoying when you are a couple of coins from payout then boom, gone, no info anywhere.
It's fun in the wild west. Smiley

If you invest 1 BTC in category 4, then you get the maximum coins possible, you don't need to join the free giveaway then. But other than that, yes, you would have!

The 2.5BTC anon investments in category4, are they still valid?

Which category would give me the best ROI as things stand now?

There are already 3 investments in category4:

there are only 2. One guy sent >1 BTC but wanted it split into cat 2 and 3.

The two guys didn't send me their NickName, so if they don't message me until tomorrow night, the NFD will be forfeit!

What will Happen to the unclaimed amount in category 4?
Would they be split and distributed among the other categories as a bonus reward to those who invested in them?
