61  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: July 08, 2014, 10:23:00 AM
i am a new user but where can i see my activity?
You will see it under your name when you post. Or in profile titled as "Activity".
Anyway I think it would be helpful if it was possible to automatically show the date the next rise in activity will happen (something like a tab/link that automatically update every 2 weeks).
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth mining and with this rig? on: July 08, 2014, 10:18:20 AM
You wouldn't be making profit in BTC IMO considering the current high difficulty and even the ASIC's aren't making so much now. Maybe a CPU currency -preferably new and not of the ones with an already-big network would do. But of course in that case that currency would be only a few satoshi's worth currently.
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: day trading - what's the catch? on: July 08, 2014, 10:10:14 AM
If I understood you correctly you are taking about buying from an exchange and selling to another (though I think this can't be categorized as day trading that much)
if you consider the costs of depositing to the cheaper exchange -mostly cheaper because it has limited deposit options- and the cost of withdrawing in the other more priced one you would be in negative most likely -bankwire fees, exchanger fees- also it would take days to do a single one of these "exchange operation" and the BTC price might have fluctuated against you since the price difference isn't that big...
64  Other / Meta / Re: ISPs Blocking Bitcointalk with "adult filter" in uk on: July 08, 2014, 10:00:41 AM
LOL as a comment maybe this forum really should be considered an "Adult" one considering the amount of "cam" services and the NSFW in off-topic and even service sub-forums.
65  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why use bitcoins when my dollars are working just fine for me? on: July 08, 2014, 09:56:52 AM
For merchants/sellers: clear advantage as vod stated, No chargebacks etc...
For buyer: you don't let your private information online, you reduce the risk for identity theft etc... and you pay less fees on transactions.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Amazon for Bitcoin Payments on: July 08, 2014, 09:53:26 AM
I agree with this campaign and will at least keep getting BTC in their heads even if they don't add it right away. They are the ones loosing as well considering even big competitors like newegg are adding it (and even ebay are partially making positive moves unlike their usual behavior). and they are the ones left out of the flock.
67  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-07] RT: Bitcoin busted: French police wind up 1st illegal virtual curre on: July 08, 2014, 09:51:05 AM
This is a big warning for all unregistered bitcoin exchangers. IMO this is partially positive since BTC is getting more market/people when it's more legislated and has a more "legal" appearance.
Although following these strict regulations the one buying BTC's loses some of his privacy it's still hard to absolutely confirm that a person owns the coins or not after moving from an address to another.
68  Economy / Services / Re: Signup + SMS Verification .. Paying 0.0024 BTC .. Easy task .. 2 mins Only! on: July 08, 2014, 09:47:51 AM
I'm interested in doing this if Egypt is on the list of accepted countries, Message me if that's the case. Also I suggest you add a list of accepted/unaccepted countries -would save you allot of messages-
69  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 08, 2014, 09:45:23 AM
Brazil isn't very likely to win the world cup IMHO. with the recent suspension for T.Silva and their main striker out for this round Germany has the upper hand even if they are playing home IMO. Final between Germany/Holland and Holland winning the world cup is my guess.
70  Other / Off-topic / Re: Man Raises $23,000 on Kickstarter to Make a Bowl of Potato Salad on: July 08, 2014, 09:43:30 AM
Kickstarter has a lot of serious projects. The potato salad is a one off joke, wouldn't repeat again  Grin
Surprisingly the joke ones are on the rise, just ridiculous to look at this really. They would be better of making ice-cream IMHO.
Seriously people love wasting their money "even if it's just few cents".
