1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Issue new antminer l3+ on: June 19, 2021, 09:08:00 PM
No other solutions apart from sending it back, I am the one who discovered the manual flashing of the PIC controller, and I can confirm it works.
can you please explain how to do that ?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ on: June 14, 2021, 10:35:41 PM
You can call it virus ,that's fine , let say its a virus what 'crypto jacking" your miner Wink
Be careful if you have one ASIC " infected " and you have more than one ASIC , within a short period of time all of your ASIC will be a "crypto jacking victim" , or we can say infected with a virus Smiley
If there is no signature protection on the firmware you are using, that "virus" simply gets through the ASIC firmware script.

To protect your ASICs from getting infected, install Bitman firmware (released after December 1, 2019) all on your asic you have.
The network device password and ASIC password always must to be different !
If the infected ASIC gets into the network, it will infect the others despite the firewall.

HERE IS some info for you , How to Save your ASICs , if you know how to run some commands

thanks for the advice.... i will keep it in mind and look at the link posted.
at the moment i got only 1 so i guess by getting a new circuit board and changing the passoword ill be fine.
i will let you know and thanks again all of you for the support   Smiley
if you ever pop by in barcelona let me know and ill take you around  Cool

few days ago i got my first new l3+ and stupid me i havent change the passoword so he got hacked....
i try to  flash it with an sd card of 16g but nothing happend...at 19.00 my local time take over the miner and change the pool address...
i dont know more what to do...
i download the last l3+ firmaware and flash it.... but maybe i did somethings wrong ....
do the internet cable need to be connected during the flashing??,,,
and after its flash ...
how can i see if he really did it ?

maybe its the sd card Huh
its new...but 2 or 3 times i disconnected just by pulling it out but after i have been format it at 32 fat and place in the file ...
 im kind of lost...

Your ASIC is a cryptojacking victim Smiley its not a virus , someone gained access to your miner , and changed some settings there , redirected the hash power to his own account probably Smiley , even they can lock you out from your own miner ....

My suggestion is completely reinstall the Latest offical Bitmain Antminer L3+ software on your asic from SD card

Instruction how to do the firmware reloading from SD card is HERE

After reinstalled the software , make sure you are not using the default login information.
Also... if you have a static ip , try to change that ip somehow ,call your internet provider and ask them to assign a new IP for that location.

thanks for the advice but its a virus  as bitmain sad too.....
i try everything... i cant flash it in anyway... i even shorted 2 points on the circuit  board begore flashing it....but nothing..
at 19.00 mytime the virus kicks in and the pool addreess are changed..
im buying a new ciruit board....as also bitmain adviced if the shorted process will not work the board need repair.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: got a virus on my antminer l3+ on: June 09, 2021, 10:01:38 PM
Try it again from the start redownload the SD card firmware and flash it again.

Check this guide below for the right procedure.

Sometimes the issue is that the card reader is full of dirt so cleaning them might solve your issue and sometimes the issue is a fake SD card so use authentic SD card and try to flash it again.

its seams its a very nasty virus... i even short out 2 points on the board prior the flashing... and now dosent even turn on both led ligth when is done like before....
bitmain said it too... if the sorting the 2 points dosent work the board need repair....
i already got one form east europe and will be here next week...
i will try a new sd card but seams is like the corona virus of the miner....

You should post what chip voltage and frequency setting you are using, as well as the kind of firmware and the numbers of errors per time (i.e. hour or day) you get on the boards.

If the whole board gets XXXXX it can be a sign that your frequency is too high for that board and/or the chip voltage for that board is too low.

If the whole board disappears from the Web GUI it can be a sign that the PIC controller on the hash board needs to be reflashed.

HTH

how do i flash the pc controll of the hash board ?

thanks very much for all your support guys you are super cool

thanks... i took a look at it but with no image its very hard for me...

i saw before the blizz program recovery videos but they do not plug any board on it and i heard i should use only bitmain...
i have now flashed with the 2019 firmware with the sd card but if i try to do it true the mac it tells me it cant find the file.
i had a virus changing the pool ip.
how can i know if the firmware was updated ??
in the miner bio i can read the system is from 2019 but i dont know if was like this before .
can be that im using my mac to upload the firmaware eventhou im using  parallel and windows 10 with edge explorer ?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [FIX] Issue antminer l3+ (boards not recognized, bad fw flash , etc) on: June 08, 2021, 01:13:13 PM
Here's the issue you may have , hashboards are not recognized, anymore

/!\ please read carefuly /!\

**************************************************************
Firmware Flash
**************************************************************

Here's a fix solution to rewite PIC's of L3+ after some of us flash bad firmware to their L3+.

Many has recovered 3 boards , some all of it

Thanks to Blissz for this fix (please do not pm him for this )

1. Download File
(re-up)
Quote
WARNING: Don't flash this to anything else as a bricked L3(+) caused by flashing a wrong firmware version, as this might harm a working L3(+).
MEGA
or
1fichier

2. Plug only 1 board from chain 0 (white cable on the left) as you can see under , you can plug upper hashboard 1st

3. Go to system -> Upgrade -> "Flash new firmware image" choose the file downloaded to flash new firmware and click flash image
wait for reboot.

If kernel logs get this ... 0xcc , wait after you see it (5 minutes, to see again 0xcc or most of time 0x3 and then it will fix your board) other way try to connect an other boards and restart from "3"

Quote
Dec 17 14:09:30 (none) local0.warn cgminer: Started cgminer 4.9.0

Dec 17 14:13:51 (none) local0.notice cgminer[377]: Chain 0 PIC Version 0x3
[...]

you will see some logs like this , PIC's is currently writing.

Code:
Dump IIC Data:[41][98][0][0]@ChainID:[0], Chip[C9]

wait logs "miner start and switching pool" the board has been flashed with success.

After fixing all or some of boards , you can finaly flash back bitmain l3+  original Firmware.

**************************************************************
Manually Flash
**************************************************************

/!\ I will not assist with "how to" here cause i didnt experience it yet
but if you have stuff (pickit3) and knowledge to manually flash chip of your miner here's the files

! warning ! have a look to the pic version you have (writed on the chip).

there is PIC16F1704 or PIC16F1705

Here's the hexa files for each version

MEGA
PIC16F1704.hex
PIC16F1705.hex

1FICHIER
PIC16F1704.hex
PIC16F1705.hex

Thanks to martin_fryc for sharing files, after succefully fix his L3+ by manually flashing PICs

**************************************************************

where are the images ??
and do i need to plug only 1 hash board to the circuit board ?

and which version should i choose ..based on what ??

flashing the pic controller its the same as flashing the intere miner ?

No, that is not the same.
If you have the option for repair, I would suggest to send the faulty hash board back. In the meantime you can still use the miner with the other 3 boards.

i have now flashed the circuit board with the 2019 firmaware but once again when i try to upload the firmware it tell me the 404 error message had it into another tap...
im using the mac but with parallel using windows 10 and  edge explorer ...
why cant he find the file ??
should i try to use a normal pc ??
or is something else ??

i know its a kind of myth.... but i never experience nothing in 9 years , anyway i run avast and he got something but i dont think was the virus...

what can i do to fully clean it Huh

Prob has the Nicehash FIRMWARE wich was known to be "manipulated".

the Custom FW from nicehash has a backdoor were this scammers let them change your mining settings.

It was aknown issue and thats who nicehash started, they were focused on custom firmwares at the beggining rather than pool.

the Nicehash firmware backdoor can be removed by flashing to org bitmain firmwares , you need to clean the entire memory from the controller board "BBB".

its from the bitmain firmware

flashing the board with the firmware by sd card Huh
today i did flash the board with the card and then i try to upload the new firmware but wasnt possible.
i saw in the l3+ firmware the first in the list its described as sd recovery from 2019
should i use just  instead ?

No as the virus will reload its self..

the sd card will erase the virus (maybe) if you are lucky.

or you need a new controller.

depends on how good the virus is

screen shots would help us

ok thanks
can i use my mac or i can only do it with pc with windows Huh
i also found out of a bitman antivirus but also said i need windows 7 or higher....
do i need a pc ?

you can do stuff on mac and use chrome or microsoft edge browser.

I have not had much luck using safari browsers last year or so.

ok thanks i will try ..... but what you mean ... hasnt work for you ??

my macminis have

safari
chrome
microsoft edge
firefox

I cant get great results running safari.

But if i use  chrome or microsoft edge. it works on the mac minis.

yes thanks i manage to use to mac as a pc.... but the miner still infected..
i flashed with the sd card and then i try to upgrade the firmware but didnt aloud me....
and after a while startrd again to log into the nicehash pool.

There are internet bots that search for ASIC miners that have not had their factory password changed and then change the internal settings.   A factory reset to the device while on a LAN not connected to the internet and then a password change might do the trick.

ok thanks

i will try but how can i connect the antminer to the lan but not to the internet ??

i also realized i need a pc..... cant do it with the mac

Have you installed firmware from other sources than Bitmain recently?

Or maybe your PC or the device you currently use to change the pool is infected so try to change the pool on other device

If the issue still the same try to flash the miner through SD card flashing.
You can follow this guide below on how to flash the miner through an SD card.

For the SD card firmware, you can download it from here https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=Flashing%20SD%20card%20with%20image

Once successfully flash it again through WebGUI on other devices just download the firmware from Bitmain.
Then test again if it solves your issue.
it happen  again now with my phone .... Cry
cant i  just flash the miner true the webgui with out open the miner ?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: antminer l3+ hashboard appearing and disappearing on: June 05, 2021, 04:55:51 PM
I would suggest you move this thread to Mining (Altcoins) If you want to get much more audience and more replies from people who are more familiar with mining and the AntMiner L3+

The option to move topic is on the bottom left of your topic.

Which store sold you the miner?

ok thanks
i will try

i got the miner from a chinese company well known
