521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in ICOs without working products. on: September 26, 2017, 03:47:40 PM
If you want to invest in ICOs, look for something with a working product like KICKICO. What are some other ICOs with working products?

We have working software.  Join in our latest betting round, by making a bet on Bitcoin:

https://stockbet.com/#/BullBear/round/17942

Gnosis raised $12.5 million in April 2017 and they still have not released a game yet.  Their website still states:

Quote
The Hunch Game is nearly ready and can be launched in the first half of 2017 as an example Gnosis app.

Augur raised $5 million near the beginning of 2015, stacked their team with 13 members and 7 advisors (including Vitalik Buterin).  After 2.5 years, they only have a simple beta demo for testing.  StockBet’s app already has more features.

Wagerr raised $10 million to do sports betting.  There is still no game, no prototype nor app.

We have not raised a cent yet and we already have an app that you can use on thousands of stocks, ETFs and now on Bitcoin!  Tomorrow, you'll be able to bet on Ethereum.

Since we cannot compare our app to Gnosis or Wagerr, below is a comparison to Augur.  Left side is Augur.  Right side is BullBear on StockBet, which does not include the dashboard, scoreboard and messaging.  The difference is stark:

We cover upcoming ICOs with objective reviews. We get nothing from the companies and our service is free and in the open, so you can trust us when we say we do it objectively. We're investors ourselves, and decided to help new investors to help grow the crypto society.

523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So low market cap is better for investment? on: September 26, 2017, 12:37:21 PM
DGB, STR, XRP ... on June now your fund is arround 30%.
From June BTC make more than double.
DGB, STR, XRP = clear SCAM

BTC is very volatile, nevertheless.  In the long run, I'm bullish on BTC.  But in the short run, it can go down 30-40% in a month.

524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So low market cap is better for investment? on: September 26, 2017, 12:26:46 PM
I think it is , and it isn't as risky as people say , but there is alot of room to grow.
I don't see why a higher marketcap is less risky.

It depends on the market cap relative to the fundamental value.  This can be somewhat determined with stocks, but it is difficult with cryptos.

In stocks, it is risky when the stock is over-priced (market cap is higher than fundamental value) and less risky when under-priced (market cap is lower than fundamental value).

It's extremely difficult to know if a crypto is over priced or under priced.

Nowadays all stocks huge overpriced.

Yes, most stocks are overpriced.  The indexes, such as S&P 500, are overpriced.  Some stocks are insanely overpriced.  Facebook took a needed correction yesterday.  Some stocks are still underpriced.

If the market crashes, there is going to be bloodbath.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Trusted ICO Reviews&Ratings] Which sources of ICO ratings do you trust and why? on: September 26, 2017, 11:59:52 AM
It's an interesting question, like some have said, most if not all of those ico listing websites are asking for money to list ICO projects.

So let's think about it, Project team are doing an ICO to get funds and develops their idea or in our case (see my signature) get money to spread the solution.

My point, is that if ICO projects owner are looking for money, they probably do not have money enough to get listed in those expensive listing.

You will say, most of them propose free listing, ok, been there ... more than 2 weeks ago and still 80% of the ico listing websites still did not list our project which is mature, with existing team, giving good rewards and bonus...

To summarize, I believe the best opportunities are probably hidden gems that are still in process inside those ico listing websites. And when they get published, it's probably already too late, as the most profitable bonus are off the table already ...

One exception is https://icobench.com/ico/selfpay we have been listing very quickly with them.

Agree with most of what you wrote.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to store ICO tokens? on: September 25, 2017, 11:58:11 PM
There is no such wallet that stores every token or coin out there.

However, most tokens from ICOs are ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum platform.  Therefore, if you get a wallet for Ether, such as MyEtherWallet, wallet.ethereum.org or MetaMask, then you will be able to store tokens from most ICOs.

528  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: September 25, 2017, 11:52:09 PM
The OP is dated October 29, 2015.

So, what has happened since then?

Did Doublemore buy the house?

Did the Bitcoins sufficiently increase in value in order to buy the house?

No need to let Jamie Dimon fluster your feathers.

This former JPMorgan managing director said that you should to be on the other side of Jamie Dimon...strongly:

I called around some stores to see if they accept BTC, no one has even heard of it except like 0.1% of people.  Wait till people actually find out this exists...

Which country are you in?

531  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Altcoins trading on: September 25, 2017, 09:20:03 PM
If you cannot emotionally handle volatility, you will lose money.

Crypto-currencies are more volatile than small cap stocks.

532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Trusted ICO Reviews&Ratings] Which sources of ICO ratings do you trust and why? on: September 25, 2017, 08:44:42 PM
Be careful with some of these.

Several of them charge to be listed.  Some give higher standings or visibility to those ICOs that pay more.

Before the housing bubble burst (financial crisis of 2008), Moody's and S&P gave high ratings on mortgage backed securities because the banks paid these agencies for the ratings.

533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoins or not? on: September 25, 2017, 06:35:19 PM
Should we invest in altcoins?and why?which is better altcoins or equity shares?

Stay away from equity shares.

Equity shares will the first ones to be deemed as securities.

If the SEC deems that the altcoin is a security, that altcoin will go to zero or crash minimally.

Buy an altcoin that has a function.  Bitcoin has a function, as it is used to transfer value (currency) or store value (like gold).  Your ownership of one Bitcoin doesn't represent ownership of anything other than the one Bitcoin.  Firstblood or Kik serve functions.

Coins that sit on a spreadsheet to determine your percentage share of the equity, profits, dividends or underlying assets (real estate, other coins, etc.) will be the first to be deemed as securities.

534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good investments on: September 25, 2017, 02:00:40 PM

A good investment is in something that solves a problem, eliminates costs or saves time.

Many projects are trying to put anything and everything onto the blockchain.  Most are searching for a problem to solve.

Cryptos are good for some applications, but not all.  It's good for:

*  transferring value (currency)
*  storing value  (Bitcoin competing against gold)
*  eliminating fees  (remittances such as Western Union, gambling fees)
*  saving time  (remittances, payments, multi-day wire transfers and withdrawals from gambling sites)
*  prevention of confiscation or theft  (don't store your money in banks or centralized places)

If the benefit of putting something on a blockchain is not clearly evident, then don't invest.

535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Die Because of China? on: September 25, 2017, 01:41:34 PM

China wants to clamp down on Bitcoin and cryptos because of money laundering.

The Chinese people have been laundering billions every year to buy real estate in the West.

A big motivation for the Chinese people, is that Western governments offer residency visas for those Chinese who bring over (launder) $X.

If Western governments stopped offering residency visas, there will be less motivation to buy real estate abroad, which means there will be less money laundering, which means the Chinese government will not be so hard on cryptos.

536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2017, 01:36:21 PM
China has been trying to stop money laundering for decades.

The Chinese people launder billions of dollars every year to Australia, Canada, U.S. and Europe every year to buy real estate.  This is aided and abetted by these Western governments, when they offer resident visas to those Chinese who bring over $X.  Consequently, Australia and Canada have the largest housing bubbles in the world.

Cracking down on ICOs is just another way of clamping down on this money laundering...which Western governments urge on.

537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoins or not? on: September 25, 2017, 12:17:41 PM
It depends on whether you can handle volatility.

Altcoins are more volatile than small cap stocks.

Then again, if you're a day-trader, then altcoins are better than small cap stocks.

538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would be a good ICO? on: September 25, 2017, 12:10:57 PM
I my opinion a good ICO has the following things.

1. A clearly defined team which is backed by known advisors and people associated with crypto and related things.

Augur stacked their team with advisors, including Vitalik Buterin, the most known advisor.  They raised $5 million near the beginning of 2015.  After 2.5 years, they only have a simple beta demo for testing.  StockBet, without having raised anything yet, already has an app that has more features.

539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good investments on: September 25, 2017, 01:16:49 AM
ICOs can't rival bitcoins because 95% of them are erc20 tokens and are basically just random useless coins telling you you own part of a business. They aren't actually a new invention or a better bitcoin, they're a token on a different type of cryptocurrency altogether.

If by rival you mean how much provide you will earn, maybe you should get your priorities straight first.

Agreed.  Most are not competitors to Bitcoin.

There are some projects (5% from your estimate) that are using the ERC20 tokens as an intermediary place-holder, until they build their new blockchain and new coin.  At that point, they will be allocating the new coin to the ERC20 token holders on a pro-rate basis.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 30 successful ICO in 2017. What will happen next? on: September 24, 2017, 01:52:38 PM
Raising a lot of money does not equate to long term success.

Ethereum raised far less money and will still be way more successful than most ICOs.

If an ICO raises a lot of money and has delivered very little, that's a failure, not a success.   All it means, is that the investors lost their money.

Many projects fall in this category.  Some have raised multiple millions and after 2 years, they have delivered no software.
